4:20 Redcar Racing Tips (27th July)

REDCAR 4.20 Div I

The first of two pretty poor class 6 handicap sprints over 6 furlongs and the first problem I notice is the lack of front running type of horses, there's 2 in the 2nd division a shame there wasn't one in each, Rainbow Rain 7/2 won over today's course and distance but it was a relatively slow run race so it might have been flattered by that result and I could be tempted to lay it in this race but if nothing sets a good early gallop it could go well again, Isle Of Dreams 5/1 could be a danger if staying today's distance as it was running on over 5 when winning last time out, when tried over 7 furlongs it faded around the 5 furlong mark so this race could be too far for it but i'm not 100% sure so not sure whether to lay it or not, there is only 5 horses that have registered before on my figures, Mr Trevor and Dirchill are my 5th and 4th top rated, the 3yo Hurt You Never comes out 3rd best on both 2022 ratings where it is only 1lb below my top 2 rated horses and on my overall figures so could improve and might be worth an each way wager, DICK DATCHERY 15/2 (EW) is my 2nd top rated on overall figures and joint top on just 2022 times and is usually held up at the rear before staying on at the finish and with a clear run could win if my top rated falters, CUPPACOCO 14/1 (EW) is joint top on 2022 figures but has a time from 2021 at Thirsk which would see it winning a shade cosily but it hasn't been in good form lately else it would have been my sole bet in this race

Cuppacoco 14/1 2nd +1.8pts
Dick Datchery 15/2 8th -2pt

Lay bet Rainbow Rain +1pt

Total +0.8pts

REDCAR 4.55 Div II

This is definitely the better of the 2 divisions but there is only 6 runners with recorded speed figures, I haven't got a clue what will be favourite or if I can find anything of value to lay, there's 2 front running types in Annie Rose and Astapor and the latter is my 6th top rated so should ensure there's a decent early pace, Arnold is my 3rd top rated but the trainer is 2-49 overall and 1-16 with their older horses which doesn't inspire confidence, I have joint top rated horses in firstly Hurstwood 20/1 who hasn't been in good for recently plus the trainer is 0-12 at this course over the last 5 years, my second top rated horse is HARD SOLUTION 14/1 (EW) who also hasn't been in good form lately but has been known to spring back to form without warning and the trainer has a decent 16% win ratio at this course and the jockey has a 15% win ratio on the stables older horses which hopefully means that connections are expecting it to run well here and an each way wager could pay dividends.

Hard Solution 14/1 4th -2pts

Total -2pts

Total on the day -1.2pts
