2:05 Lingfield Racing Tips (31st December)

LINGFIELD 2.05

A class 3 sprint with 12 runners and 4 known front running types of these, Harb is my 4th top rated but hasn't any form over this course and distance but did record its best Polytrack rating at Chelmsford last year, while Emperor Spirit is my joint 2nd top rated but stall 11 isn't ideal with 4 fast starters on its inside but if getting to the front and not overexerting itself it could prove hard to catch. One that I will look to lay in this race is Silky Wilkie who struggles to stay the distance with a fast early pace. Secret Strength is my other joint 2nd top rated but with fast starters in stalls 5, 8, 9 and 11 it could be the proverbial meat in the sandwich and is still a maiden on the AW tracks but has been placed in 4 of its 5 races on an artificial surface. On recent form Emperor Spirit is held by TYGER BAY 7/1 who won last time out over this course and distance and a repeat of that rating would see it following up here, it has both trainer and jockey stats of a 16% win ratio which isn't bad so hopefully it points to them expecting it to go well in this race.

LINGFIELD 3.15

Only 9 runners for this class 6 sprint but the biggest problem I the lack of known front running types, obviously something will set the pace but who and how fast a pace is the question, so any stakes will be kept low. Hit Mac stall 9 and Big Bard stall 1 are my joint 3rd top rated horses although the former can struggle to stay if there's a fast early pace so might be ok in this race, Daphne May comes out in top spot using a rating recorded at Chelmsford in 2021 and hasn't been at that level this year and it seems better over further so a slow early pace might not suit this one so as you can see there's more questions than answers but if pushed and its of value I might take a risk with BOBBY ON THE BEAT 6/1 who is a course and distance winner, which is always a bonus, and has good jockey stats, they have a 22% win ratio for the stable, so lets hope that's a pointer to connections expecting it to get back to winning ways in this race.
