6:00 Newcastle Racing Tips (20th February)

NEWCASTLE 6.00

A field of 10 for this class 6 dash with 2 known front running types amongst them, I will look to lay both Araifjan 11/1 and Kraken Power 7/1 if they are single figure prices as both seem to need further to show their best form anything else with very little chance of winning will most likely be of no value to lay. Melody King is my 4th top rated and the one that might set the pace to the race so could do enough to make the frame and might be of value to do as an each way punt, Phoenix Star is my 3rd top rated and can be held up or track the leaders and then try to stay on at the finish, PRIMO'S COMET 33/1 (EW) comes out in 2nd top spot on my figures and usually likes to track the leaders but hasn't been in good form lately but the jockey does have an 18% win ratio when riding for this stable but I do have YAAHOBBY 11/1 (EW) rated 1lb higher and will be running on strongly at the finish, as they are so closely rated then I will beck them both and at the prices it will be with each way bets.

Primo's Comet 33/1 6th -2pts
Yaahobby 20/1 Unp -2pts

Total -4pts

NEWCASTLE 8.00

Only 8 runners in this class 6 stakes race where the early pace could be set by Blackcurrent 3/1 but if pushed this one could struggle to stay the distance as its best form is over shorter distances while Mutabaahy 10/3 might prefer further and both therefore might be worth laying. Zegos Surprise is my 4th top rated using a course and distance rating recorded this year, Muatadel is my 3rd top rated but i had to go back to 2021 to find this ones best rating and its been in poor form lately, Kraken Florida is usually held up for a late run but the rating which makes it my 2nd top rated was recorded at Southwell but hasn't any form over this course and distance plus its also still a maiden after 10 runs with half of them being on an artificial surface, I will be backing STORM MASTER 8/1 (EW) who is my top rated and would win with a bit in hand if repeating its previous best but hasn't had a run for over 70 days and it will be a bit of a risk hoping that its fit itself to do itself justice after its break so a small each way wager seems the best way forward.

Storm Master 8/1 2nd +1pt

Lay bets: Blackcurrent +1pt, Mutabaahy +1pt

Total +3pts

Total on the day -1pt
