1:10 Goodwood Racing Tips & Lay Bets

GOODWOOD 1.10

A field of 8 runners but with 3 horses that have been known to lead before so it should be a true run race, firstly I will lay (Treacherous 7/4 favourite, who may need further if the going is on the fast side + Quench Dolly who has poor recent form and won't get an easy lead here + *Desert Land 11/4 2nd favourite also might need a longer trip or a slower surface) Pettochside doesn't want the going to be on the firm side and could run well if the going is suitable, The Lamplighter usually stays on strongly at the finish of its races, my money will be riding on the back of THE LACEMAKER 22/1 (EW) who is one of the possible pacesetters and if getting to the front it ought to prove hard to catch and with 8 runners I have to give it as an each-way wager.

1:50 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (27th December)

WOLVERHAMPTON 1.50

THREEFEETFROMGOLD has only slow times at this distance and might need further.

LAUBALI likes to track the leaders but not well drawn in stall 10 but is my joint 3rd top-rated on its best time from 2018.

ARCAVALLO a possible pacesetter out in stall 12 but maybe ok in the make-up of this race but hasn't been in good form lately.

DARING GUEST has the plum draw so it should be able to get a good early position just behind the leaders on the rails and is my 4th top-rated.

KRAKA is on a losing run of 13 which isn't ideal and has only 1 win from 17 attempts on the AW tracks.

SPIRIT OF WEDZA could feasibly set the pace here from stall 6 but isn't in my top 4 speed figures so might be setting it up for a finishing type.

MYTOWN CHICAGO has only slow c/d times to its name and it would need to improve on its best time and may prefer a longer trip to show its worth.

ROCK BOY GREY hasn't any distance form to work with but its turf form points to it wanting a longer distance before it has a chance to win.

THE GROOVE would need to improve timewise to win this race and its another in the race that might do better over a longer distance.

GLOBAL MELODY hasn't any form on this Tapeta surface and I doubt this surface will suit it.

AGUEROOO is my top rated but stall 13 is as bad as it gets but could feasibly follow the stall 12 horse across to the rails and it would then have a winning chance.

THE LACEMAKER hasn't any course form from 2019 but its best from 2018 would put it in 2nd top spot and is trying to make this a hat-trick of wins.

LANDING NIGHT might find this trip too far with a couple of known frontrunners in this race,

SUMMARY: There's a few in this race that could possibly make the frame with a few of the higher-rated horses not berthed well in the make-up of this race, with THE LACEMAKER 9/2 being my 2nd top-rated and being in cracking form I cannot let it run without some of my money on it but I will also be backing *AGUEROOO 12/1 who is my top rated and showed a glimmer of returning to form when finishing it 4th on its last run.

WOLVERHAMPTON 4.40

This 5-furlong dash has 5 of the 10 runners that have been known to lead before, the speed/form lines are crossed from all sorts of angles and add on the 4 horses that are on double-figure losing runs it's hard to be very confident, if BERNIES BOY 9/2 can reproduce its Newcastle time here round a bend it would win this race but I'm not sure if it's really big enough in price to take the risk if it drifts to 6/1 I would be happy going with an each-way punt.

1:30 Lingfield - Free Horse Racing Tips (9th December)

LINGFIELD 1.30

Quite a competitive race for a Class 6 affair.

I can only find three horses that seem to have no hope of winning: Creek Harbour and Velvet moon have been known to lead when allowed to set a fairly slow early pace. While others will make sure that doesn't happen!

Majorette is a versatile type that has been known to lead. It comes out fourth overall on my figures.

The top horse, Aguerooo, comes out top on just 2019 course and distance times but third top overall.

George Dryden comes out second best using a 2018 time. However, this grey gelding has been terribly out of form lately and needs to show some signs of life before I back him.

Additionally, Daring Guest is joint second top on 2019 course and distance times and the 7lbs the apprentice claims puts it in the picture.

THE LACEMAKER 5/2, trained by Milton Harris, won last time out over course and distance. It was a slowly run affair. It ran a respectable time at Chelmsford, which is the same surface, and that would see it have every chance to follow up in this race. Unfortunately, it is a pretty short price.

LINGFIELD 3.00

I hope all eight horses run.

I've got three horses marked down as possible lays in this race. Watchable likes to track the leaders and comes out fourth top on my figures.

Prince Of Rome hasn't run over this course and distance before. However, the colt ran a fair time at Chelmsford last year that would make it second top-rated. Richard Hughes' charge has got a significant jockey booking with Franny Norton in the saddle, so I expect it to run a big race.

Just That Lord is second top-rated on 2019 course and distance times. I expect this six-year-old to set the pace. However, trainer/jockey statistics don't inspire confidence.

GRACIOUS JOHN 7/2 is worth a punt. Ian Williams' son of Baltic King hasn't won in its last twenty-four starts and dropping down the handicap. Being drawn next door to the likely pacesetter it could get a good tow into the race.

Gracious John 7/2 7th

LINGFIELD 3.30

This should be fast and furious!

Five of the nine runners have set the pace before.

Green Door, drawn stall three, is third top rated. This front-running eight-year-old trained by Robert Cowell has good stats especially with 7lb apprentice Angus Villiers in the saddle.

Something Lucky is my fourth top-rated. He isn't a frontrunner so could profit if they go off too fast and fade badly in the closing furlong. I doubt that will happen but it could possibly stay on to make the frame.

I've got joint top-rated horses in Glamorous Rocket who is drawn in stall one (but this one's best speed figure was gained at Kempton and this is its 1st run over this course and distance).

WARRIOR'S VALLEY 9/1 is my other joint top rated. However, it's not drawn well in stall nine for this natural frontrunner. If getting to the front - could prove hard to catch.

I think the winner will come from these four horses and hopefully, I can dutch them all to show a decent profit.

I will favour the dutch bet rather than going with my top rated.

Warrior's Valley 12/1 9th

NEWCASTLE 6.15

A full house with fourteen runners.

It's a relatively poor class 6 race run over 6f.

I can only find one frontrunner so this may become tactical. My highest speed figure in this race is quite low. In fact, only four horses have a rating: The grey gelding Zebulon, who likes to track the pace, is fourth best.

Klopp comes out third best. This filly likes to be hold up.

The second top spot we have Global Humor who should be staying on strongly at the finish.

The top spot goes to the three-year-old ALMURR 7/1 who likes to track the leaders. Philip Makin's son of Dandy Man hasn't won in his last fifteen races but the booking of Ben Curtis with a 20% win rate for this stable brings further interest.

I will be having a small wager.

Almurr 7/1 7th

NEWCASTLE 6.45

This is a much better Class 6 race.

Again, there's not a lot of early-paced sorts competing.

I've marked eight horses as possible lays in the race!

Star Cracker is fourth top-rated. Jim Goldie's gelding and usually runs on at the finish.

Another hold-up type is Someone Exciting my fifth top-rated. There's only 1lb between them.

I've got joint second top-rated horses: Mightaswellsmile and Poppy In The Wind.

The former prefers other surfaces to show its best. The latter has a poor jockey booking with Luke Morris showing a 0-5 record for Alan Brown's stable.

LORD OF THE GLEN at 5/1 looks the best bet. Jim Goldie's four-year-old gelding is the only known front runner and if allowed to dictate will prove hard to catch.

Lord Of The Glen 13/2 2nd

Thanks for reading. I love to hear your comments.

8:30 Kempton Racing Tips (25th September)

KEMPTON 8.30

MY TOWN CHICAGO 6/1 hasn’t any form on this surface at this distance and looks as though a longer trip might suit it better than the 6 furlongs here so one I would lay at the price. SHEPHERDS PURSE 10/1 has a relatively slow time against its name and its 0-20 record on the AW tracks is enough for me to lay it if a single figure price.

SWANTON BLUE 10/1 this one hasn’t any course form to work with and its best from Chelmsford leaves it with plenty to find.

PAPA DELTA 5/1 is one of 5 horses that look to have a chance here, it hasn’t run over this c/d before but it best Chelmsford time would make it top overall.

PERFECT SYMPHONY12/1 is the only one with a speed rating over this c/d this year and its best from Chelmsford would make it 3rd top and the 2nd one to consider as the likely winner.

THE LACEMAKER 33/1 comes out 4th top on Chelmsford times and its best time here from 2018 makes it top rated on c/d figures so number 3 on my list of possibles.

RAJMAN 40/1 this 3-year-old has one slow run to its name over this c/d and its other form points to it needing further than 6 furlongs to show its real worth.

CASARUBINA 7/2 looks forecast to be the favourite but it hasn’t any form on this surface plus I think it may need further to shine but never ignore a 3-year-old as they can improve without warning.

MAGICINTHEMAKING 3/1 has only a slow time to show over this c/d but comes out 2nd top using Chelmsford times and should be staying on at the finish the 4th one on my list of 5 potentials.

KINGLAMI 16/1 number 5 on the list and using its best c/d time from 2016 it would be top rated but it's well below that since then.

ON ROUTE 14/1 a 9 run maiden who has a slow c/d time to its name and could be a hidden danger like many 3-year-olds.

MIAELLA 8/1 has only raced 6 times but its form has been poor and maybe further would suit it much better.

SUMMARY: As ive said theres 5 horses on my shortlist of potential winners but going through my figures again Kinglami looks the weakest but the jockey has a 20% win rate on the stables older horses so I can’t say no definitely, Magicinthemaking is another with a good jockey booking and only 2nd best by 1lb on Chelmsford times behind Papa Delta who is a hold up type of horse and im not sure this race will be run to suit it with only one known front running type in the race, Perfect Symphony is top rated on this years c/d ties but would need to improve to beat some of the others older times if they can repeat them but the horse which I will be having a small each way bet on is THE LACEMAKER 33/1 who is a versatile sort when it comes to racing tactics and in this race I expect it either lead or contest the lead and then it would have the first run on the field when they line up for home, the trainer has only sent out 2 runners on the flat recently with one winning and the other getting beaten in a photo so thats perhaps worth noting and one of those wins was at this course so let’s hope that’s a positive to its chances here.
