4:40 Newcastle Racing Tips (23rd September)

NEWCASTLE 4.40

A class 6 race with a full house of 14 runners with a couple of known front running types which should make things easier but to be honest I cannot narrow it down to anything less than 3 possible winners and even then I say keep your stakes low, so maybe the best way to make a profit from this race is to lay one of the entrants and I will look to lay Anconagua Mountain 9/2 who is usually held up for a late run but is held on recent form by Coleys Koko and needs to improve time wise to win this race and its only got relatively slow times on good to firm ground on turf plus the trainer only has a win ratio of 3% at this course, COLEY'S KOKO 12/1 is one of the trio that could win this race and if it can reproduce its best turf rating it would win this race a shade cosily so at the price has to be worth an each way punt at the price, JOSHUA R 4/1 usually likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish my third horse is ELZAAL 11/2 from stall 10 who can be held up or track the leaders and a high draw is usually a help over this straight course, I will be backing all 3 of them but not to high stakes.

Elzaal 11/2 1st +5.5pts
Coley's Koko 20/1 5th -1pt
Joshua R 6/1 6th -1pt

Lay bet Aconagua Mountai +1pt

Total +4.5pts

NEWCASTLE 8.15

Up one level to class 5 with 3 known front running types but another race very hard to narrow down to anything less than 3 horses so maybe another race where the best way to make money will be laying Robasta 6/1 who may need further to show its true worth and its one run on this Tapeta surface at Wolverhampton it didn't show much at all which puts me off its chance here and its win on Polytrack at Kempton was a relatively slow time which didn't register on my figures, GLORIOUS RIO 12/1 (EW) could be the one to do best coming from off the pace and the horse has won 3 from 13 races on an artificial surface so has to be worth an each way wager, MAJESTIC MAN 11/2 is one of the possible pacesetters coming out of stall 4 so if low numbers are best then that's covered that angle while my other front running POLITICS 14/1 (EW) is coming out of stall 13 covering that angle if the high numbers are best on the day and looks worth another each way punt.

Majestic Man 17/2 2nd -1pt
Glorious Rio 12/1 4th -2pts
Politics 14/1 Unp -2pts

Lay bet Robasta +1pt

Total -4pts

Total on the day +0.5pts
