2:39 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (18th December)

WOLVERHAMPTON 2.39

Only 7 runners for this class 2 race and 2 front running types in Bedford Flyer 5/1 and Lord Riddiford 7/1 who happen to be my 2 bottom rated horses so I doubt they can lead all the way, Venturous might need further to reproduce its best rating and even that wouldn't quite be good enough to win this race, Alligator Alley and Kaboo could run well being my 4th and 3rd top rated horses, I've only got 2lb’s between my top 2 ratings, TONE THE BARONE 7/2 likes to track the leaders and could get first run which could be enough to win the race, the trainer has a 17% win ratio at this course and the horse has won 8 of its 14 races on artificial surface but STRONG POWER 12/1 is rated higher this ones trainer also has a 17% win ratio at this course and the jockey has the same strike rate for the stable and this one is usually held up for a late run, so I will be backing them both as i think it could be close between these 2 on the run for the winning line.

Strong Power 12/1 3rd -1pt
Tone The Barone 7/2 6th -1pt

Total -2pts

WOLVERHAMPTON 3.09

A field of 11 for this class 5 sprint and the biggest problem is that I cannot see what will set the early pace, something will take it on but how fast the early pace will be I've no idea which means my stakes will have to be kept low. I'm not sure if I can find anything of value to lay so another problem and my stakes get even smaller, I've got Astro Jakk 8/1 and Inevitable Outcome 25/1 as my joint 3rd top rated horses, the former likes to track the leaders while the other is usually held for a late run and this race might not run to suit this one and both of them have been in poor form lately. The Thin Blue Line 10/3 sits in 2nd top spot but its another that's usually held up for a late run so once again this race might not be run to suit it. The 3 at the bottom of the handicap are horses that have been in decent form lately which cannot be said for the rest of the field so from those 3 my money will be riding on EL HOMBRE 8/1 who can either be held up for a late run or track the leaders which makes it look the safest choice in my opinion.

El Hombre 8/1 5th -1pt

Total -1pt

Total on the day -3pts
