1:50 Catterick Racing Tips (21st July)

CATTERICK 1.50

A strange race, the bottom 4 in the handicap are all out of form on recent runs but I expect they will all be double figure prices, I think the next 2 in the handicap, Qaaraat and Alex Gracie can both can struggle to stay the sixth furlong if there's a fast early pace and I would also add Alsvinder to the list of those that may not stay the distance, I expect Gullane One to set a fast early pace as that's its only hope of winning but I still doubt it can do so but never say never, Redzone has won over this distance and this course and distance but they were all relatively slow run affairs and maybe another to add to my lay list, Lincoln Gamble is my 3rd top rated and usually races in midfield before trying to stay on at the finish, Jungle Inthebungle comes out 2nd top using a time from Pontefract last year but its last win was way back in 2018 but may need this run for fitness having been of the courses for over 200 days, if *STRONSAY 9/1 runs here after running at Ayr on Monday this will be the one carrying my money, on Monday it was close to the front but the pace was a slow one and then it got outpaced when the other leaders kicked and then stayed on again nearing the finish but I think this race will have a faster early pace which will suit it better.

CATTERICK 3.20

There is only 6 runners but 4 of them have been known to lead, I can only see Denzils Laughing 9/1 as one to lay as its best times even when winning were on the slow side of things and could therefore get outpaced in this race and could be found easier chances in the future, Militia and Machree are possible pacesetters and the latter is my 3rd top rated, MUTABAAHY 7/2 is my top rated using just 2021 times and has a time 3lbs higher from 2020 but that would only make it my 2nd top rated on overall figures and could be the one to prosper if the leaders go off too fast and fade but of the front runners I've got DARK SHOT 11/4 in top spot using a time it recorded at Leicester last year and I will be backing them both to cover the angles.

Dark Shot 11/4 2nd -1pt
Mutabaahy 13/2 5th -1pt

Lay bet Denzil's Laughing +1pt

Total on the day -1pt
