7:30 Chelmsford Racing Tips (19th December)

CHELMSFORD 7.30

A small field of just 7 runners for this class 6 sprint, my 3 bottom rated horses are forecast to be the 3 biggest priced horses in the race which isn't surprising and if any of them is a single figure price they might be worth laying the betting will decide whether to lay or not. Alafdhal has the best of the draw and is my 4th top rated but it is fairly close at the top of my ratings, Come On Girl is my top rated on just this years course and distance ratings but that is only good enough for 3rd spot on my overall figures. Araifjan could try to set the pace to this race and has been in good form lately but has finished 2nd in 3 of its last 4 runs and could be dangerous again here and is my 2nd top rated on this years ratings and on my overall figures. BIG BARD 8/1 isn't in my top 3 on just this years figures but has a rating from 2021 which makes it my top rated and being a front running type in a small field might be just what it needs to get back to winning ways.

7:00 Chelmsford Racing Tips (22nd October)

CHELMSFORD 7.00

A class four sprint with twelve runners and four of them known to have led before but with three of them drawn in stall eight and higher there could be some early scrimmaging for an early position. Laheg might be worth taking a look at in view of laying if of value to do so as it very often handicaps itself by being slowly away but I'm not sure if anything else will be short enough in the betting to warrant a lay bet. There's a trio of horses, Astro Jakk, Beauzon and Top Exhibit who are very closely matched sitting just outside my top four ratings so any of them could make the frame if others falter especially the latter who is one of the possible pacesetters in this race. My fourth top rated is Secret Moment who usually likes to track the leaders but in the make-up of this race, with early paces types in stalls, three, eight, eleven and twelve, might struggle to get a clear run and a good early position from which to attack from in the latter stages. Twilight Madness is my third top rated horse and a possible pacesetter but stall twelve isn’t ideal for it but could have the early pace to get near to the front from the off and if doing so could make the frame. TWILIGHT SECRET 9/1 is my second top rated on my overall figures and top rated on just this years speed figures and the booked jockey has a twenty seven percent strike rate on the stables older horse and from stall four it should, hopefully, get a good position just behind the leader by following the horse drawn on it’s inside. COOPERATION 6/1 coming out of stall eight is a versatile sort when it comes to racing tactics which does include leading it is my second top rated on this years figures and top rated overall using it’s best figure recorded here last year, this one has poor trainer, 0-11, and jockey 0-3 stats plus its been thirty five days and twenty runners since, which does put me off a little else it might have been my sole wager in this race, it ran quite well on Thursday at Southwell when being at the rear in the early stages before staying on strongly at the finish and if running here the hint has to be taken and I will be backing the two selections in this race.

6:33 Chelmsford Racing Tips (24th September)

CHELMSFORD 6.33

A field of 10 for this class 3 sprint with 4 horses known to lead before, I'm not sure if this surface suits Badri 5/1 who look much better on the Tapeta surface and might prefer further so might be worth laying along with *Cairn Gorm 9/1 who looks better over a shorter trip and will be a lay if of value to do so, there is three 3yo’s who look to be on an upward curve form wise, Dig Two is a front running type and comes out 4th best on my figures but stall 10 might be a concern in the make-up of this race with my 3rd top rated horse Impeach (not a 3yo) drawn on its inside in stall 9 and others in stalls 6 and 7, but could possibly make the frame if things go right for it, Open Mind 16/1 comes from a powerful stable and comes out 2nd top on my figures and has been running quite well without winning lately but my money will be riding on BEAR PROFIT 10/3 who won last time out over this course and distance in a fast time and a repeat of that performance would see it following up in this race.

A strange looking class 6 dash where the form lines are quite tangled where only 5 of the 9 runners have a recordable rating, Ellie Piper 11/2 has won over today's distance but in a relatively slow time so might be worth laying if a single figure price, Blue Venture my 4th top rated, Shamshon in 3rd top spot and Amasova my 2nd top rated are all known front running types so this race will be fast and furious from the off and they might battle too hard for the lead and then fade nearing the finish which could play into the hands of SIR RODNEYREDBLOOD 8/1 who likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish, it is not the most prolific winner, winning 9 times from 48 races on an AW track but has made the frame in 16 of those races so could be a nice each way bet if the price is big enough to do so.

2:05 Chelmsford Racing Tips (16th June)

CHELMSFORD 2.05

Seven runners in a five furlong dash where four of the runners have been known to lead before and at the top of my ratings its very very close with my top three all having the same speed figure and all three liking to lead, I'm not sure I can find anything of value to lay in this race, You're Cool and Expert Opinion are two of my top rated trio but the other one LUCKY AVA 4/1 is going to be the one I back because it has been running in higher class races and this drop down in grade could be enough to see it resume winning ways.

RIPON 4.00

With no known front runners in this race it makes it hard to picture how the race might pan out, I would normally have put Nomadic Empire 8/1 up as a lay as this distance can be too far for it with a good early gallop and if of value I might still lay it because something will set the pace, Intrinsic Bond has poor trainer/jockey stats but comes out second top rated on my figures but EMPEROR SPIRIT 11/4 record a rating from Yarmouth last year which would blow this lot out of the water and it has won its only run of this year on the AW at Chelmsford in a fast time so hopefully can follow up that win here.

RIPON 4.40

This class 6 race has 10 runners with 2 known front running types and as they are 2 of my top 3 ratings so lot of horses might not be able to get into the race, so nearly anything else of value could be worth laying, Gullane One could lead but it does prefer the going to be good to firm while here its only given as good ground so maybe not ideal for it, Absolute Dream is my 2nd top rated so should do best of those coming from off the pace but if the top weighted horse MORTY 10/1 repeats the rating it produced over this course and distance last year it would be able to lead all the way here.

LINGFIELD 4.50

Just six runners for this Amateur jockeys race and maybe I should leave the race alone, I will lay Kath's Toyboy 4/1 who has never won over this distance as it might need further to show its true form, the 3yo Tahani won last time out where it was allowed to dictate a relatively slow pace at Chelmsford so should like this track and if allowed to dictate again here could repeat its last run and complete the double but I don't think it will be allowed an easy lead and my money will be riding on BUNGLEDUPINBLUE 7/2 who likes to either race in midfield or track the leaders and then staying on the stronger at the finish and is also looking to follow up its win last time out and complete the double.

Bungledupinblue 5/1 5th -1pt

LINGFIELD 6.25

A nine runner dash with three known front running types, I will look to lay Bernard Speirpoint 11/2 who has poor trainer/jockey stats, Ascot Jungle and King Crimson, who are my 3rd and 2nd top rated, could set the pace to this race but they might besetting to race up for IESHA 8/1 who usually likes to track the leaders before staying on strongly at the finish and the expected fast early pace here might play right into its hands but it doesn't have good trainer/jockey stats so my stake will be kept low.
