2:05 Chelmsford Racing Tips (22nd June)

CHELMSFORD 2.05 

5F Class 5 9 Runners I can only see THE DEFIANT 7/1 as a front running type and being my 2nd top rated it could pinch this race from the front and will be carrying some of my money just in case that happens. Libertus might prefer a longer distance and may have been flattered by its 2nd place finish last time out in a slow run race so I will be looking to lay it, the same applies to Level Up about needing further so could be added to the lays list. Sir Rodneyredblood is my 3rd top rated and usually likes to track the leaders before staying on strongly nearing the finish and might be worth an each way interest. The other horse that will be running with my cash on it is MICK'S SPIRIT 8/1 who also likes to track the pacesetters before staying on resolutely nearing the finish and could pick up the leader close home if reproducing its best rating recorded at Lingfield.

6F Class 2 8 Runners With showers and heavy rain about I'm not going to waste too much time on this race, if the going is good to firm I will be hoping that *HYPERFOCUS 9/2 can lead all the way but I will need to watch an earlier race to check on the going before deciding whether to bet of not.

7:40 Ripon Racing Tips (7th June)

RIPON 7.40

A field of 8 for the only sprint of interest today but its a class 3 sprint so should be competitive and there is a couple of known front running types so it should be a true run race. Twelfth Knight has been known to lead before but doesn't have to so maybe it wont be its tactics here and will need to improve time wise to win this race as its only 5th top rated on my figures. It Just Takes Time is a hold up type but its best form has come in slowly run races and might get outpaced in this race and might be worth laying if of value to do so. Fortamour sits in 4th top spot and usually likes to track the leaders, Intrinsic Bond usually races in midfield before trying to stay on and is my 3rd top rated, if the going is good to firm which suits Bat Breeze then it should run well and being my 2nd top rated it could be worth an each way interest. My top rated is Justanotherbottle who is the one which I think will set the pace to this race and hopefully it can lead all the way for the victory and the trainer has a good 29% win ratio with their older horses at this course and its last win was in a class 2 race so is dropped in class to run here and has to be the one carrying my money.

3:00 Chepstow Racing Tips (30th August)

CHEPSTOW 3.00 

Nine runner dash for a class 6 race, I can see 4 that have been known to lead before, Willingly has won its last 2 races but both were relatively slow run races and the official handicapper might have caught up with it but I'm not 100% sure whether to lay it or not, Coronation Cottage my 4th top rated could try to lead and could make the frame if others falter, the 3yo Hattie C comes out in 3rd top spot so could stay on nearing the finish to make the frame so might be worth an each way punt, Shesadabber another front running type comes out in 2nd top spot on my figures but GLAMOROUS FORCE 15/2 hinted at a return to form when finishing 3rd last time out and if ready and able to reproduce its best 2021 rating recorded at Bath it would get back to winning ways.

I expect the front running Mark's Choice 5/2 will be the favourite to win this race but it only comes out 4th top on my figures so might be worth taking on with a lay bet, Surprise Picture 9/1 is my 3rd top rated who likes to track the leaders and could be worth an each way punt, Bossipop is another possible pacesetter and comes out in 2nd top spot on my figures using its best time from Hamilton last year but my money will be on my top rated horse MAJESKI MAN 5/1 who likes to track the leaders before staying on the stronger at the finish and did hint at a return to form when finishing 2nd last time out.

Only 7 runners but 4 of them have been known to lead before so it should be a fast and furious race, with a fast pace I will look to lay La Roco Del Fuego who can struggle to stay the sixth furlong even though this is a relatively easy fast course, Boogie Time a possible front runner is my 3rd top rated but would need to improve time wise to win this race, Reparted is my 2nd top rated so could do best of those trying to come from off the pace, I will be hoping that BLISSFUL SONG 11/2 has been found an ideal opportunity to follow up its win last time out and the trainer does quite well with a 29% strike rate at this course.

Class 5 dash with 12 runners and 4 known front running types, I'm not sure if I can find anything of value to lay but the betting will be the final piece of data to complete the picture, Canaria Prince is my 3rd top rated and a possible pacesetter and it could do enough from the front to make the frame, Mutashaaweq is my 2nd top rated and ran two fast times at Hamilton on good to firm ground but hasn't been anywhere near that form on any other course, my money will be riding on LATIN FIVE 11/1 who won the time before last and finished 5th last time out when not getting a clear run at a critical time and still wasn't beaten far and has been found a good opportunity to get back to winning ways in this race.

Class 2 race over 6 furlongs with 15 runners and one third of them have been known to lead before, as you expect its a very competitive looking race, Hyperfocus and Marks Choice look likely to do best of the front runners and the former could do enough from the front to make the frame, I cannot see anything of value to lay in this race as for finding the winner there is a few, Summerghand, Snash, Intrinsic Bond, Indian Creak Embour plus the 2 front runners mentioned, that could go well here and anyone of them could make the frame but I will be having a small wager on EMPEROR SPIRIT 8/1 who likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish.

Class 4 race over 6 furlongs with 7 runners, the early pace could be set by Come On Girl who has been running well on the AW tracks but I don't think this one is up to winning at this level and might be worth laying, Strike is another that looks better in lower class races but this one is capable of producing fast times, Verraux Eagle might prefer a longer trip so another possible lay, my money will be riding on *WENTWORTH FALLS 10/1 who can be held up or track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish and the trainer does quite well at this course.

Class 2 race with a paltry 5 runners, Stone Of Destiny may struggle to stay the distance especially as my top rated is the likely leader in this race, Mum's Tipple may need further but if the early pace is really fast it could be a possible danger, Above and Ingra Tor both recorded their best speed ratings here but on the Rowley mile course but would need to improve a good few spots if RATHBONE 13/2 reproduces is best figures from either 2022 or 2021 where there is only 2lbs difference plus the apprentice jockey has a decent 16% win ratio on the stables older horses.

Class 6 race over 6 furlongs with 10 entrants, I can see 3 front running types in this race and another that could lead if nothing else wanted to wont have to lead here, but I think they will be setting the race up for something coming from off the pace although Portelet Bay who is my 2nd top rated could prove a danger if getting to the front from stall 9 but might have to use up a degree of its stamina/speed to get itself into the lead, I could look to lay, Prophecy, Secret Potion, *Mops Gem and *Tom Tulliver if of value to lay, Steelriver is my 3rd top rated using a 2020 rating but can be useful if on a going day but I will be relying on the top weight RED ALERT 10/1 with my money and a repeat of the rating it has recorded here this year would see it winning with a bit too spare.

Seven runners in a five furlong dash where four of the runners have been known to lead before and at the top of my ratings its very very close with my top three all having the same speed figure and all three liking to lead, I'm not sure I can find anything of value to lay in this race, You're Cool and Expert Opinion are two of my top rated trio but the other one LUCKY AVA 4/1 is going to be the one I back because it has been running in higher class races and this drop down in grade could be enough to see it resume winning ways.

With no known front runners in this race it makes it hard to picture how the race might pan out, I would normally have put Nomadic Empire 8/1 up as a lay as this distance can be too far for it with a good early gallop and if of value I might still lay it because something will set the pace, Intrinsic Bond has poor trainer/jockey stats but comes out second top rated on my figures but EMPEROR SPIRIT 11/4 record a rating from Yarmouth last year which would blow this lot out of the water and it has won its only run of this year on the AW at Chelmsford in a fast time so hopefully can follow up that win here.

This class 6 race has 10 runners with 2 known front running types and as they are 2 of my top 3 ratings so lot of horses might not be able to get into the race, so nearly anything else of value could be worth laying, Gullane One could lead but it does prefer the going to be good to firm while here its only given as good ground so maybe not ideal for it, Absolute Dream is my 2nd top rated so should do best of those coming from off the pace but if the top weighted horse MORTY 10/1 repeats the rating it produced over this course and distance last year it would be able to lead all the way here.

Just six runners for this Amateur jockeys race and maybe I should leave the race alone, I will lay Kath's Toyboy 4/1 who has never won over this distance as it might need further to show its true form, the 3yo Tahani won last time out where it was allowed to dictate a relatively slow pace at Chelmsford so should like this track and if allowed to dictate again here could repeat its last run and complete the double but I don't think it will be allowed an easy lead and my money will be riding on BUNGLEDUPINBLUE 7/2 who likes to either race in midfield or track the leaders and then staying on the stronger at the finish and is also looking to follow up its win last time out and complete the double.

A nine runner dash with three known front running types, I will look to lay Bernard Speirpoint 11/2 who has poor trainer/jockey stats, Ascot Jungle and King Crimson, who are my 3rd and 2nd top rated, could set the pace to this race but they might besetting to race up for IESHA 8/1 who usually likes to track the leaders before staying on strongly at the finish and the expected fast early pace here might play right into its hands but it doesn't have good trainer/jockey stats so my stake will be kept low.

6:40 Ripon Racing Tips (15th June)

RIPON 6.40 

The only sprint worth looking at for today is this lowly class 6 affair with 15 runners and only one known front running type, I can find a varied selection of negatives against all the horses in this race bar two of them, the first one is Elzaal who comes out in 2nd top spot of the pair it can be held up for a late run or track the leaders and then try to stay on strongly nearing the finish the jockey has a poorish 8% win ratio for the stable on their older horses and could be worth an each way interest but the one known front runner I mentioned earlier is NEWGATE ANGEL 14/1 (EW)  who only gets that top spot position because of the apprentice jockeys 5lb claim who is worth the claim but hasn't ridden for this stable before so I cannot say whether its a positive booking or not but i think it will be and if getting to the front, and especially if its allowed to set its own pace without being hassled for the lead it could lead all the way and I think, hope, it will be an each way price just for a bit of insurance if its of good value.

3:00 Nottingham Racing Tips (1st June)

NOTTINGHAM 3.00 

A ten runner class 5 race with a couple of known front running types, I will look to lay Jet Set Go 15/2 if its a single figure price as I'm not sure if it wants good to firm ground, hasn't been in good form recently and is still a maiden after 14 races of which 12 have been on grass, the early pace may be set by Come On Girl 5/1, or Jet Set Go, and is my 3rd top rated so if leading could do enough to make the frame, Desert Lime 10/1 hasn't any form on grass to work with but its best rating on the AW would make it my 2nd top rated so could go well if taking to the grass surface here, my top rated is SOLLER BAY 8/1 who recorded its top rating earlier this year at Doncaster and a repeat of that rating would see visiting the winners enclosure.

A ten runner class three race, again with a couple of known front runners, I have a feeling that there won't be anything of value to lay in this race, Marks Choice 12/1 my 4th top rated and Bossipop 14/1 my 3rd top rated are the two that are known to lead so a lot of the runners might not be able to get involved in the finish and either or both could make the frame, Intrinsic Bond 10/1 sits in second top spot using a rating recorded over this course and distance last year but I do have CITY WALK 3/1 rated higher but that is using a time recorded in 2020 at Yarmouth but showed its in good form by winning last time out on an All-Weather course and has good trainer/jockey stats. 

City Walk 3/1 9th -1pt

Just seven runners for this class five dash, I will look to lay Nibras Again 8/1 if its a single figure price as it may need this run for race fitness and needs to improve time wise to win this race, also Morty 6/1 who finds this distance a bit too far for it with a decent early paced gallop which should be set in this race by Dapper Man 7/1 who is my third top rated horse and does seem to need good to firm ground to produce its best ratings, Latin Five is actually my top rated but hasn't been in good form lately and may find this distance too short on fast ground and i think the betting will reflect that, so I will be putting my faith and money on ALBEGONE 5/2 who has decent trainer/jockey stats and it did record its best rating over today's course and distance earlier this year.

3:10 Haydock Racing Tips (26th May)

HAYDOCK 3.10 

A field of 12 runners with 4 known front runners amongst them and Modular Magic my 5th top rated and Sound Reason my joint 3rd top rated could do best of those front runners, Duke Of Firenze is the other joint 3rd top rated and is usually held up for a late run but doesn't like the going to be really fast, Street Life actually comes out as my 2nd top rated but that was recorded in a lower class race and might struggle now upped in class, my money will be riding on *BALLINTOY HARBOUR who likes to track the leaders and then stay on resolutely at the finish and this one likes the going to be good to firm so it should be okay in this race.

The early pace will most likely be set by Ustath who is my 4th top rated so I doubt it will be able to do enough to hold for the win, the top weight Lost My Sock 4/1 might be a better prospect when racing over a longer distance as it stays on nearing the finish over this distance but usually not quickly enough to win and may struggle again here with just 1 known front runner in the field, Mokaman 5/1 comes out in 3rd top spot and likes to track the leaders before staying on at the finish but there is only 2 places up for grabs so not of value to do each way Orchid Rose is a hold up type and sits in 2nd top spot, I will be having a small wager on CUPPACOCO 10/1 who looks the value call of the race, the jockey has a 17% win ratio on the stables older horses but the trainer is 0-31 at this course which is the main reason for just a small bet.

I hope all 8 runners take part to give 3 places for any each way bet, there is 3 runners that are known to front run and if the going is good to firm the Dapper Man 13/2 would have to be one to consider as it might possibly lead all the way and I would be backing it if the going is fast enough for it, while the other 2 front runners, High Security and Harrogate would need to improve time wise to win this race, Young Tiger 11/2 could be one to lay as the trainer is 0-13 at this course and the jockey is 0-11 when riding for the stable plus its been 118 days since the stable lasted visited the winners enclosure, Burj Malinka 4/1 won last time out on good to soft ground and I don't think its as good when there isn't some cut it the ground so another to lay, my top rated is *ARNOLD 12/1 (EW) who is usually held up for a late run and this race could be run to suit it but the trainers poor record of 1-31 at this course is a bit off-putting but an each way punt could hopefully pay dividends.

There is a couple of known front running types in this 6 furlong sprint and Gullane One 6/1 is my 4th top rated and could possibly do enough from the front to make the frame but I doubt it can hold on for the win, Enderman 4/1 finished 2nd last time out at Thirsk and what was described as good ground but it was a slow run race and it might struggle if this ground is genuinely good or faster, Peachey Carnehan 5/1 needs to improve time wise to win this race and looks a bit too short in the betting for its actual chance of winning, Hurstwood 16/1 and Stronsay 8/1 are my joint second top rated in this race and either or both could make the frame but i will be putting a small each way wager on TWICE ADAAY 11/1 who looks the value call in this race.

I hope all 8 runners take part just in case I can find and each way wager, I will be looking to lay Silver Samurai 10/1 as it may need further and this race might not be run to suit it, I expect the early pace will be set by Mines A Double 9/4 who could be dangerous if allowed an easy lead but if its as short priced favourite as forecast then it might be worth laying for the win part as it might do enough to still make the frame, Kimifive 14/1 would make the frame if able to reproduce its best rating from 2020 but hasn't been anywhere near that level since then, Spanish Star and Akkerinka have only 1lb between them and are my 2nd and 3rd top rated on recent ratings so could make the frame but my money will be riding on MANY A STAR 4/1 as long as the going is good to firm and the jockey does well when riding the stables older horses.

Just 7 runners with one known front running type amongst them, I think Gullane One 8/1 might need this run for fitness and worth laying if a single figure price, the trainer Paul Midgley has two horses entered in this race where I have James Watt rated higher than Van Gerwin on my unique speed figures but jockey wise the one who does best for the stable is on the the latter so I'm a bit confused what the stable expects to happen, my money will be riding on the sole front runner DAPPER MAN 3/1 who finished third last time out and if allowed an easy lead in this race it should hold on all the way to the line for victory.

Up to 9 runners for this race which means I can look for each way wagers, I will be looking to lay Shallow Hal 13/2 who might prefer some cut in the ground and the apprentice jockey is 0-16 for the stable, I will also look to lay Twilight Secret 5/1 it hasn't any distance form on turf and slow times when racing at this distance on the AW surface at Wolverhampton while Imperium Blue 8/1 may struggle to stay the distance so I could add it to my list of lays, Fortamour and Flying Pursuit are my joint 3rd top rated so could battle to make the frame but I will be backing MARK'S CHOICE 13/2 and MANIGORDO 8/1 both will be trying to stay on strongly at the finish and I have only 1lb between them so either could win the race.

WOW what a competitive looking class 2 dash, I can only see Premier Power as a possible lay bet in this race, Mountain Peak is one of two known front running types in this race and comes out 4th best on my figures so could run well and maybe even make the frame,Jawwaal is my 3rd top rated and only 2lbs below the pair who are my top rated, Mondammej is one of the joint top rated horses but drops to 2nd best when I take off the 5lb the apprentice claims riding COPPER KNIGHT 9/2 who is also the other known front runner and if getting to the front here it could be hard to catch.

Another nice looking race and class 3 this time, I think the early pace will be set by Al Simmo but it would need to improve to hold on for the win, Call Me Ginger who has won its last 3 races comes out 3rd top on my figures and maybe the handicapper has caught up with it, there is only 2lbs between my top rated pair and I will be backing both of them, NEVER DARK 8/1 and SECOND COLLECTION 12/1 as to be honest I cannot split them and both look good value at their prices with there being just seven runners.

A field of 12 for this race with a couple of front runners of whom Machree may go best but I doubt it can hold on for the win and I might well lay the other possible leader, Raydmoor who might have been flattered when winning a slow run race last time out, James Watt, Nibras Again and Deputise could all go well but I will be splitting my stake between COLEY'S KOKO 9/2 who is my 2nd top rated but only 1lb below ATLYAH 7/1 in top spot, the former is usually held up for a late run while the latter likes to track the leaders and then stay on resolutely nearing the finish.

As usual with an eight runner race I hope they all take part so there is 3 places available for an each way bet, it is a good looking class 2 race where I cannot see anything that I could dismiss its chances and lay it, Bossipop may do best of the two known front runners in the race as it comes out 4th best on my figures and could even stay on well enough to sneak a palace especially if others falter, Thegreatestshowman is sitting in 3rd top spot but the trainer is 0-10 in the last 2 weeks, Manigordo is my 2nd best rated horse and is usually seen staying on at the finish over this distance and could make the frame but it hasn't been in good form lately, my money will be riding on BOWMAN 10/1 (EW) who recorded a fast time at Carlisle and a repeat would see it winning a touch cosily.

Only 6 runners where the top pair, Nearly A Gonna and Ustath, look the likely pacesetters and the latter could be dangerous if allowed an easy lead and the former might have been flattered when it won 2 runs ago at Nottingham, Hurstwood comes out 2nd best using a time from way back in 2019, my money will be riding on SINGE ANGLAIS 13/8 who is from a stable in decent form in the last two weeks and it will be held up for a late run.

A class 4 race, 10 runners and 2 known front running types equals a true run affair, I would look to lay Seas Of Elzaam who should be staying on at the finish but maybe too late to catch the leaders, Garth Rockett has a good time from 2020 which would give it a good chance of winning but the jockey booking, 0-18, makes me think it will be aimed at a future race, I did have TOUSSARAK 7/1 and NIGEL NOTT 5/1 level on my ratings but the former has a 3lb claiming apprentice on board and the latter has a 5lb claiming apprentice, so just 2lbs between them but as the latter is the one I think might set the early pace and could prove hard to catch but just in case I will back them both to cover the angles.

Only 7 runners but 3 of them are known as front runners and five of them are 3yo’s so my stakes are already going to be low, I think *Iesha may need further and may be worth laying despite the fact this race might be run to suit its racing style, I think JORVIK PRINCE 9/1 should lead and then prove hard to catch and if reproducing its best time from 2020 would hold on for the win but its time from 2021 would give TOPLIGHT 9/2 a chance to pick it up in the closing stages and I will be backing them both.

EPSOM 2.50 

KIMIFIVE 7/1 has only slow times over this distance this year while its best speed figure from 2020 would make it 3rd top rated on my overall figures and usually likes to track the leaders. 

EVASIVE POWER 6/1 comes out 2nd best on just 2021 times but that time is only good enough for 4th top on my overall figures.

RECON MISSION 11/4 is the only one known to prefer to front run, hasn't any distance form for this year but its best time from 2021 makes it my top rated on my overall figures.

DELEGATE THIS LORD 10/3 another with no distance form for this year and it would need to improve on its best time to win this race.

SPRING BLOOM 15/8 comes out top rated on just 2021 times but that is only good enough for 4th top spot on overall figures but its best from 2020 moves it into 2nd top spot. 

SUMMARY: a small field where my top rated is the only known front running type in the race so if RECON MISSION 11/4 can repeat its best time from 2020 at Newmarket it could lead all the way and get back to winning ways plus the jockey booking looks a positive as he has a 26% win ratio on the stables older horses.

MARK'S CHOICE 3/1 a possible front runner in this race and its best time from this year makes it my 2nd top rated but it does drop down to 3rd best on overall figures.

I AM A DREAMER 9/2 this one will need to improve on its best speed figure to be winning this race but it was recorded this year at Thirsk. 

PRINCESS POWER 4/1 will be one I will look to lay as it may struggle to stay the distance with 3 possible front runners so the early pace should be fast. 

PIVOTING 12/1 this 3yo has been known to lead but I'm not convinced this one wants good to firm ground and only has poor speed figures over this distance. 

CASE KEY 8/1 is the 3rd possible front runner and its best time from 2020 at Leicester makes it my top rated on my overall figures. 

USTATH 9/2 is my top rated on just 2021 times but that time does drop it down to 2nd top spot on my overall figures and doesn't want a really fast early pace but should be staying on well at the finish. 

WADE'S MAGIC 9/2 hasn't any distance form on turf this year and its another that I think doesn't really like good to firm ground. 

SUMMARY: I  think the early pace is the key to this race and I think MARK'S CHOICE and CASE KEY could be the ones to set the pace and as long as they don't go off too fast they should be hard to catch, I cannot really split them and will be backing them both as the former better form this year and the better trainer/jockey stats while the latter would win a shade cosily if able to reproduce its best 2020 speed figure.

Just 6 runners in this class race but luckily 2 of them have been known to lead but one of them Macho Pride 9/4 has poor trainer stats and I would look to lay it especially at such a short price, the other is Bossipop 9/1 who seems to be getting a little bit slower each year and its best time this year is quite a bit lacking and I expect it will be an outsider, Fortimour has a decent time from 2020 at this course and distance and could go well, if I took notice of Gale Force Maya’s time from 2019 it would be my top rated but has been nowhere near that since that year but I will be backing PAWS FOR THOUGHT 5/1 who will be staying on strongly at the finish and this race should suits its style of racing.

A class 4 and a pitiful 4 runners and none of them are known as front runners so its hard to analyse, I couldn't lay any of them and I will take a punt on KATH'S LUSTRE 7/2 who usually likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly so I'm hoping it can cover any moves and prove the stronger at the finish and in my opinion is the value call in this race.

I can only see Niagara who has led before but it is still a maiden after 8 runs but does have a time on turf that would make it my 2nd top rated so has to be feared, I cannot find anything of value to put forward as a lay as most will be biggish prices, At Your Service is my 4th top rated using a time from 2019 and hasn't been in good form lately, I will be backing 2 in this race the top weight SAMBUCCA SPIRIT 15/2 is my 3rd top rated and the trainer has been in good form in the last 2 weeks and it will be staying on at the finish, my top rated RAABEH 11/2 would be my sole selection if it wasn't for the trainers 0-18 in the last 2 weeks and the horse is still a maiden after 18 runs and 13 of those runs have been on AW tracks.

A 16 runner race with 4 that have led before and I think/hope that it can be won from the front, I cannot see anything of value to lay as most horses will be double figure prices, there's a few that could go well looking at snippets of form they have shown, Total Commitment who usually tracks the leaders, Lihou who recorded its best time over this course and distance and will be trying to stay on at the finish, Open Wide has a time from 2020 that could put it in the mix, my 4th top rated is Operate who is one of the likely pacesetters, Tinto is 3rd top but it is using a 2020 time and its not been anywhere near that level so far this year, Treacherous is 2nd top rated and will be staying on at the finish but its best time came from 2020 but I will be backing my top rated A SURE WELCOME 16/1 (EW) who is a possible pacesetter and if getting to the front it could prove hard to catch and has decent 17% trainer stats and 15% jockey stats which makes me think connections are expecting a big run in this race and if possible it would be a decent each way wager.

I hope all 8 stand their ground so there is 3 places which I want to have an each way bet, I will look to lay Sarah's Hope 8/1 who will be trying to stay on at the finish but on the clock it will probably be too late to win this race, there is 3 known front running types so it should be a true run race especially as they are my top 3 ratings, the 3yo Toptime comes out 3rd best but has to improve a few spots to win this race, Lethal Blast is my top rated on just 2021 times and must have every chance but I will be taking a punt on UNION ROSE 16/1 (EW) who comes out 3rd best on 2021 times but has a time from 2020 at Bath that takes it to the top spot and hopefully if it gets to the front could be hard to catch but I am hoping its a double figure price so I can take a bit of insurance with an each way wager.

2:10 Chelmsford Racing Tips (17th June)

CHELMSFORD 2.10 

Only 6 runner with half of them being 3yo’s, I will look to lay half the field, Marly has only shown poor form recently and the jockey is 1-28 for the stable so I'm hoping that's a good pointer to its chances here, Red Fascinator looking at its form elsewhere this 3yo might not like this surface but it is one that likes to lead but I doubt it can stay there on this surface, Lovely Breeze is another 3yo and is forecast to be a hot favourite but I think this one will be better when raced over longer distances and could get outpaced in the early stages if Royal Dynasty and Red Fascinator battle to lead and then might not get to them quickly enough to win this race so i will be siding with MINHAAJ 10/1 who is usually held up for a late run and this race might be run to suit its style.

A field of 15 with 2 known front runners amongst them but only 6 runners have times fast enough to register on my figures, firstly I will look to lay Mo Henry 9/1 who hasn't won since 2017 but is forecast to be a single figure price and Lucky Beggar 7/1 who hasn't shown much time wise since 2019 despite having what looks like decent recent form with a win and a place in its last 3 runs and could feasibly be placed again here but I doubt it can win the race, Ustath could go well as it recorded its best time this year when it won at Thirsk, my 2nd top rated is Gullane One who along with Ustath could set the pace to this race and if allowed an easy lead it could prove troublesome to catch but I will be backing HARD SOLUTION 9/2 who has won its last 2 races and has been found an ideal opportunity to complete the hattrick here.

LINGFIELD 7.10 

A 10 runner race where only half of then have registered on my speed figures, I will look to lay Trouser The Cash 2/1 who has a time from Chelmsford last year that would make it my 2nd top rated but it usually needs its first run after a break for fitness so lets hope that happens time as well, Katelli 10/3 who hasn't any c/d form but looks as though its better when raced over further and Hyba 9/4 who only recorded a slow time when finishing 3rd last time out at Wolverhampton so might have been flattered by that result, Hurricane Alert has a time that would make it my 3rd top rated but that was back in 2019, Mercers and Kyllukey are 2 others with recorded times but only 4th and 5th fastest, I will be backing AGUEROOO 9/2 who usually stays on strongly nearing the finish over this minimum distance and hopefully from stall 4 it can gain a good early position to work with and then a clear run when challenging. This race is a good example of how I try to bet/lay in the same race, if you lay the 3 horses at 2/1, 9/4 and 10/3 you lose very little if anything if one of them does go on to win.

EY UP ITS MICK 5/2 can be held up or track the leaders and has been slowly improving each run lately and it finished 2nd last time out so this could be its day. 

TAYLORED 9/2 a 3yo who has only slow times over this distance but it has been fading over 7 furlongs but this race might not be run to suit it. 

REELY BONNIE 16/1 hasn't any form at this distance on good or good to firm going and it may have been avoiding fast ground so this going might not suit it. 

THE MACKEN TORPEDO 25/1 hasn't any distance form on turf and it would need to improve on its best AW time at Wolverhampton to win here. 

STRONSAY 11/4 won an amateur riders race in a time that would make it my 2nd top rated and it usually races in midfield then trying to stay on at the finish. 

COOL DANDY 3/1 this 3yo hasn't any form at this distance on turf and I have very little to work on, I couldn't lay or back this one and could be the fly in the ointment if I back something else. 

SUMMARY: Only 6 runners and two of them are 3yo’s who could still be capable of improving, the real problem is the lack of known early pace but EY UP ITS MICK 5/2 usually runs on strongly at the finish and this looks a slightly easier race than when it finished 2nd last time out so I'm hoping it goes one better in this race and also hoping the bottom weight Cool Dandy doesn't spoil things for me.

A 10 runner race where only half of them have gone fast enough to register on my figures, there is only 1lb between Sir Rodneyredblood my 5th top rated and Lilklan and Kath's Lustre who are joint 3rd top rated so any of them could make the frame and Lethal Angel my 2nd top rated is only 3lb’s higher but my top rated 3yo CARBON POSITIVE 3/1 who won last time out and could be capable of doing even better as it gains more experience and repeat of its time when it won would see it winning this race a shade cosily, it has decent trainer/jockey stats which is always a positive and the apprentices 3lb claim helps its cause even further, it is versatile with its racing tactics and from stall 2 it should be able to gain a good early position and use whatever tactics they think will win this race. 

RIPON 9.00 

In all reality this race should be left alone as I have only got one horse in the race with a time fast enough to register on my figures and that is HELLO GIRL 9/1 who can be held up or track the leaders and then stay on at the business end of the race and if it is a double figure price it might be worth having a small each way punt, its forecast on the tissue prices at 25/1 as it hasn’t shown anything in its last four races so it is a risky wager but these sort of bets can make a good week a very good week.

2:05 Nottingham Racing Tips (2nd June)

This race isn't one to be getting too heavily involved in with over half the field being lightly raced types, I cannot find anything worthwhile to lay, Rainbow Mirage 6/1 who is usually held up for a late run but with no known front runner in the race it might not be run to suit this horse, I will be having a wager on LETHAL ANGEL 9/1 who recorded a time at Yarmouth in 2020 which would see it winning a shade cosily and the jockey is 1-1 on its only previous ride for today's stable which I hope is a positive to connections expecting it to get back to winning ways in this race.

In this 8 runner dash I can see 3 natural front running types and another that could lead if needs be as those 3 probable pacesetters, Requiems Dream, Suwaan and Indian Pursuit as they all have a negative against their name, the first two not being in good form in their recent runs and the other one may need further on good to firm ground, if TANASOQ 13/2 gets to the front from stall 2 it could be hard to catch and starts off as my top rated being 4lbs clear of my 2nd top rated but as ECONOMIC CRISIS 5/2 is being ridden by a 5lb claiming apprentice and that moves it to top spot by 1lb so with it being so close between them i will be backing them both to cover the angles.

I'm hoping the ground will have dried out for this meeting so please check before you have any bets, its not a race where I can see anything worth laying which shows how competitive this race is, the early pace will be set by either Bossipop 4/1 in stall 1 or Marks Choice 13/2 in stall 6 with the latter being my 3rd top rated it should be a true run affair, Gunmetal 9/1 is the horse sitting in 2nd top spot but I don't think this one wants really fast good to firm ground so it could be ideal for it but i will be backing TREACHEROUS 13/2 who recorded its best time at Goodwood in 2020 and a repeat of that time would be good to get back to winning ways here and it has won 3 of its 6 races over this distance.

I will look to lay the bottom weight Lucky Beggar 3/1 who won last time out but that was in a class 6 race and seems to struggle in class 5 races like this one but knowing its in tip top form is always a positive but it is forecast to be favourite so no value in my thinking, any others that i think can be lay bets are I think going to be big prices, the 2 at the top of the handicap James Watt 9/1 and East Street Review 6/1 could both go well if they can reproduce their best times from 2019 but both of them haven't been near those heights since that year so I will be siding with HARROGATE 5/2 who is the only known front running type in the race and if it does lead it could prove hard to catch.

1:35 Leicester Racing Tips (24th April)

LEICESTER 1.35 

A field of 8 runners with just All You Wish having been known to lead but then only on sufferance but I couldn't back or lay this one, I would look to lay Newyorkstateofmind 5/1 who looks to be better over a shorter trip, Grey Galleon 9/1 maybe outclassed in this race but does come out 2nd best on just recent distance times and not of value to lay, Dancinginthewoods weakened over 7 furlongs so this trip could suit it, Little Boy Blue 11/4 has a fast time from back in 2019 but hasn't been near that level since then and the jockeys 0-5 record for the stable is a little off-putting and it might be worth laying at the price, the top weight ABLE KANE 2/1 has the top spot on recent distance form and a repeat of its Catterick time from last year would be good enough to see it winning this race.

Only 6 runners and the early pace might be set by Desert Safari 2/1 but I'm doubtful it can lead all the way for the win but not sure enough of that to lay it, Citron Major maybe outclassed in this race, Fortamour likes to track the leaders but needs to improve time wise to win here, Mister Lupton is a hold up type but I think the race will be between Staxton who starts of as my top rated but the 5lb the apprentice claims riding MUSCIKA 7/2 moves this one to top spot and the jockey booking looks a positive making me think connections are expecting it to win.

Quite a poor race even for a class 5 race, there is a couple, Ustath and Spirit Power, that like like to set the pace, the former can struggle at the distance if its a fast early pace while the latter prefers some cut in the ground, both Dana Forever 7/2 and Production 7/2 race as though a longer distance would be beneficial so maybe worth laying i have a negative stat against every horse in the race bar the one and that is CAMACHESS 11/1 who is having its first run on its favoured good to firm ground her and that could see it bounce back to form, it does handicap itself sometimes with tardy starts but it it a hold up type anyway so its not really a big problem but it will need a clear run when it makes its move to run on to win the race.

3:00 Newmarket Racing Tips (15th April)

NEWMARKET 3.00 

A group 3 race with 7 runners and to be honest on paper it looks like a one horse race in the shape of OXTED 8/11 and I expect it to be an odds on shot and if running to its best should win nicely, so I started looking at the forecast and I would think Emparaaty Ana 9/1 who is my 3rd top rated will set the pace to the race and could pinch enough to hold on for 2nd spot, the other one possibly for the forecast is Summerghand 7/1 who comes out 2nd best on my figures so in theory it should also catch the leader, the tissue betting says the 3 horses mentioned will be the first 3 in the betting so it will depend on the day if there's any value in having a forecast but Oxted might be worth adding to a multiple bet.

A field of 14 in this race and there's 2 possibly 3 that could set the pace to the race but all 3 of them, Mid Winster, Spartan Fighter and Marks Choice would need to improve time wise to win this race, so what is going to pick them up, Round The Island has a good speed figure but it comes from lower class races to this one, I've got 3 I could lay, Mid Winster, Klopp Of The Kop and Mutanaaseq if they are single figure prices, Dark Defender my 2nd top rated doesn't want it to be too firm but it has won after a break before so it could be fit enough to do itself justice but i had to go back to 2018 to find this ones best time and since then its been running a stone below its best, I will be pinning my hopes on FOX HILL 12/1 who is my top rated using time from this year when it finished 7th in a fast run affair but this one has a time 7lb faster from 2020 so a repeat of either this years or last years time would see it back to winning ways but at the price I would think an each way wager is the way to go.

Another 7 runner race while this one has 3 possible pacesetters but its for apprentice jockeys only, Afandem would need to improve time wise to win this from the front and seems better with some cut in the ground so might not be able to go the early pace in this race, Abate has a fast enough time from 2019 to make it my 2nd top rated but its speed figure during 2020 was way way below that level and during the last 5 years the trainer is 0-10 in apprentice races which doesn't bode well, Canford Bay is another that has a good time from 2019 but wasn't near that level during 2020, Mutabaahy comes out 3rd best on my overall figures and it was recorded in 2020 and won last time out on the AW, my money will be riding on DAPPER MAN 4/1 who comes out 2nd top on 2020/21 times but if this one can reproduce its best from 2019 it would get back to winning ways and the trainer has a good 18% win ratio in older horse apprentice races so i am hoping that means they expect it to go well here and I am hoping this is the one that can lead all the way.

3:15 Ripon Racing Tips (16th August)

RIPON 3.15 

A 20 runner class 2 race and what a competitive affair it looks, I can only find a couple to lay but i doubt anything will be of value to lay, theres a couple of horses that have been known to lead before but both of themes best form has come in lower class races and I doubt they can prevail here although Highly Sprung is capable of producing fast times if the going is good to firm, Typhoon Ten won last time out in a one class lower race but this 4yo could be able to improve enough to follow up here but there is always that bit of doubt, Watchable also won last time out and again in a class 3 race and hasnt won at this level on turf but has done so on the AW, another winner last time out is Staxton and once again in a lower class race, I think the safest option could be KIMIFIVE 8/1 who has finished 2nd twice recently in this class of race and it was only just beaten last time out at Goodwood and could get a good tow ito this race being drawn next door to a possible pacesetter but as I said it is a competitive race and my stakes wont be at full pelt but an each way wager could pay dividends.

A nice field of 11 runners in this class 3 race, I will hope to lay (Fairy Stories + True Mason) both may struggle to stay the distance if Bossipop sets a fast pace which is capable of doing and could do enough from the front to make the frame and has a stablemate, Staxton who could also make the frame and this one has the fasted time from 2020 only and 3rd top overall, Watchable will be running on at the finish and its best time from Epsom 2019 makes it 2nd best on my own speed figures, GUNMETAL 5/1 has a time from this year at Newmarket that would make it 3rd top on just 2020 times but has a time from Ascot in 2019 that puts it at the top of my figures and will be carrying some of my money.

A 9 runner dash where 4 of them like to front-run so it should be fast and furious and as long as they don't cut each other's throats I think it will be won from the front, a couple I would lay are (Jaganory + Bequest) both King Crimson and Thegreyvtrain like to lead and are my joint 3rd top-rated so either or both could go well, the horse that might prosper if the leaders do push each other too much is Moonraker but this one doesn't seem to want genuine good to firm ground so it may not finish fast enough to pick up the leaders, I am hoping my top-rated beast, CORONATION COTTAGE 11/2 can get to the front and if doing so it ought to prove pretty hard to catch and the jockey booking has a18% win ratio for the stable, makes me expect it will run a very big race in this race.
