7:00 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (28th March)

WOLVERHAMPTON 7.00

A class 5 sprint with 11 runners and 3 known front running types amongst them, Level Up 10/1 might find this trip too far so a lay if a single figure price, Shades Of Summer 7/4 has never raced over this distance on the Tapeta surface and would need to improve on its best Polytrack rating to win here so one I will lay at the price. Watermelon Sugar is my 3rd top rated and usually likes to track the leaders so could possibly make the frame but I doubt it will be an each way price, Alafdhal is dropped in class here and its another that likes to track the leaders but could encounter trouble at the start with the make-up of this race so my money will be riding on MELLY'S FLYER 5/1 who is one of the front running types in the race its also my top rated and its another that's dropped in class so from stall 1 I hope it can lead all the way.

A sprint stakes race which usually turn out quite competitive and in this race my stakes will be kept low, Reckon I'm Hot 9/2 may be one to lay here as its still a maiden after 12 races but as usual only if its of value to do so while Ellie Piper 6/1 seems better at shorter distances so is added to my lay list. Our Man In Havana and/or Blackcurrent 9/2 could set the pace to the race and the latter is my 3rd top rated so it could go well from the front and then only 1lb below Tommytwohoots 20/1 in 2nd top spot but this one hasn't been in good form recently, as usual i will stick with my top rated and that is MAY REMAIN 9/2 who was joint top but is being ridden by a 7lb claiming apprentice but stall 10 may not be ideal so my stakes will be kept low.

WOLVERHAMPTON 8.00 Div II

The 2nd division of the stakes race where this time the early pace ought to be set by my 3rd top rated horse Another Angel 8/1 so this one might be worth an each way interest, there doesn't appear to be anything worthwhile to lay in this race but I cannot see why *Beleaguerment is priced at 13/2 and it will be interesting to see if its backed and if it is I might be tempted to lay it, my 2nd top rated is Billian 7/4 who is forecast to be the favourite but I am going to side with EMBLA 4/1 who is forecast to be the 2nd favourite and if it reproduces its best 2022 rating over this course and distance it would win quite cosily and has good trainer and jockey stats to back it up.

A class 6 dash this time with 11 runners and 3 known front running types in the field, Josies Kid my 3rd top rated is capable of winning a race like this but has been in dire form recently which has put me off its chances and I can't see why it should bounce back to form here, Glorious Charmer 7/2 has been running well lately but time wise they have been slow run affairs so may be under priced here so may be worth opposing to small stakes, Amazing Amaya 4/1 comes out in 4th top spot and usually tracks the leaders but I doubt it will be an each way price, my money will be riding on the front running ROCKLEY POINT 8/1 but the stall 10 draw tempers my confidence and if it had been drawn better I think it would have been a shorter price, so again my stakes are kept low, its best rating came from Newcastle which is a straight course but has run to within a pound of that last year running round a bend so if getting to the front it could prove to be a hard nut to crack.

1:40 Southwell Racing Tips (10th February)

SOUTHWELL 1.40

This 12 runner class 6 dash is very tight on my ratings with just 2lbs between my top 5 ratings and there's 4 known front running types amongst the dozen runners, I don't think Autumn Flight is at good on this Tapeta surface so i will look to lay it in this race. The Tron is my top rated but the apprentice is 0-5 which moves it down to 4th top spot, Yaahobby is my 2nd top rated but the trainer is 0-12 in the last 2 weeks and the jockey has a poorish 9% win ratio for the stable, Wee Fat Mac is my joint 4th top rated but that's using a Wolverhampton speed figure but hasn't any course and distance form to work with so not sure what to expect. Tantastic hasn't been in good form lately so maybe not ready to win this race, I will be putting my faith in MEHMO 9/2 hoping that it can lead all the way.

SOUTHWELL 2.10

Fourteen runners for this class 6 stakes race where they all carry the same weight with the official rating of the top rated is 48 so a poor race but hey ho something has to win but it is hard to work out exactly what. There's 3 known front running types in the race and they are all in my top 4 ratings so a lot of these wont be able to get involved, Stroxx 7/2 is actually my top rated but this one is still a maiden after 21 races and 15 of them have been on an artificial surface and this one could do best of those coming from off the pace but could I back this maiden with any confidence? The answer has to be no. I think the winner will come from the 4 top rated horses, Rockley Point 11/1 and Another Angel 8/1 both have poor jockey stats which is slightly off-putting, I think I really ought to dutch all 4 horses and I will back the 3 mentioned so far for small stakes just in case they do win but I will probably back EMBLA 7/1 as my main bet mainly because the jockey has only had 2 previous rides for the stable and finished 3rd and 1st in those 2 rides so hopefully that points to connections expecting it to win here.

SOUTHWELL 5.25

A full house of 14 for this class 5 sprint where I can see 4 front running types and Rebel Redemption 28/1 is my highest rated of them in 5th top spot on my figures so would need others to falter to win this race but could possibly make the frame and if of value to do so maybe worth a small each way interest, its not a race where I can see anything worthwhile to lay, Mostallim 14/1 and Papa Cocktail 10/1 are my joint 3rd top rated horses where the former likes to track the leaders but always races as though further would suit it better while the latter is usually held up for a late run. I've got Palifico as my 2nd top rated but this one has never won over this distance so may have been flattered when recording its best distance rating, top rated is PORFIN 12/1 (EW) who is a hold up type and i have to admit stall 14 isn't the ideal draw but if it can follow Rebel Redemption in stall 10 across to the rails it might be able to get a good early position from which to attack nearing the finish and if an each way price then all the better.

6:30 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (3rd December)

WOLVERHAMPTON 6.30

A class 6 sprint with 13 runners but just the one known front runner, Port Noir if a single figure price would be a lay as it looks a better prospect when racing on the Polytrack surface, I can see 5 other horses that appear to have virtually no hope but I expect them to be outsiders in the betting. PORTELET BAY in stall 5 could be the one to set the pace to this race and is my 2nd top rated at either here or Newcastle so could possibly steal this race from the front while RED ALERT is the one that's top rated but both of them have been in poor form recently which is off-putting. The top weighted WEE FAT MAC 6/1 is my top rated just using Southwell ratings but hasn't run at this course before but could go well if taking to it and might be the one to concentrate on but I will look to dutch all 3 of them and hopefully they will be all be of value to place an each way punt on.

WOLVERHAMPTON 7.30 Div I

This is the first division of a low class stakes race where the highest official rating is 52 or below, Arzaak seems to prefer the Polytrack surface while Black Box 6/1 may need further and I would lay them if single figure prices. Nacho and The Gloaming are just outside my top 3 ratings so will need to improve unless others falter. TOPLIGHT 6/1 is well handicapped as it was rated 58 last time it won and racing off a rating of 49 in this race it finished 2nd 2 runs ago but was pushed too far back last time out and didn't really get into the race so could go well here. Moveonup is a front running type and has the stall 1 draw also is my top rated using Southwell times but is held on recent form by EMBLA 7/1 who won last time out and has been found a decent opportunity to follow up here.

WOLVERHAMPTON 8.00 Div II

This looks the weaker of the 2 divisions and certainly wont take much winning. Alyas Gold Award and Liberty Bay both race as though further would suit them better so might be worth laying if a single figure price. Hot Hot Hot, Nellie French, San Juan and Thegreyvtrain could all run decent races and battle for the minor offers especially the latter, in stall 6, who is one of only two known front running types in this race but this one could need the run for fitness. I think the other front running type BERNARD SPEIRPOINT 6/5 who has the stall 1 draw so it should be able to gain control from the off and get back to winning ways.
