12:00 Lingfield Racing Tips & Lay Bets (12th July)

LINGFIELD 12.00

Quite a nice 10 runner race for a class 6 affair, there's a couple of horses that have been known to lead before so it should be run at a good early pace, I will look to lay (*Nautical Haven who might find this distance too short + George Thomas who needs to improve timewise and hasn't made the frame in its 6 previous AW races) Solar Park could attempt to lead but would need to improve timewise to win this race but is the short 7/4 favourite which looks poor value to me unless allowed to pinch the race from the front but I think WARRIOR'S VALLEY 10/1 2 points win, will be the one I expect to set the early pace or at least contest it and is my top rated and could prove the stronger nearing the finish and if getting to the front it could prove hard to catch and does have what looks a positive jockey booking making me think the connections are expecting a big run in this race.

Warrior's Valley 10/1 7th (-2pts)

Lay bets: George Thomas +1pt

Total: -1pt

LINGFIELD 2.35

This 6-furlong race is devoid of known frontrunners although the bottom weight Tavener has been known to lead if nothing else wants to but its recent form hasn't been very good form lately and isn't a prolific winner on the AW tracks and it looks best in a lower class nowadays. I will look to lay (Requited who might prefer a slower surface and a shorter trip on this faster surface + Pedestal who is 0-5 on the AW and may be better over further) Pettochside has a good time from Kempton which would make it my top-rated but that course is quite different to Lingfield where its times have been slow, sticking with those that I know can handle this course I will be backing 2 horses, GARTH ROCKET 9/2 and EQUIPPED 11/2 who both usually stay on strongly at the business end of the race and both have good trainer/jockey stats which make me think both sets of connections are expecting a big run here.

Garth Rocket 13/2 (+6.5pts)
Equipped 11/2 5th (-1pt)

Lay bets: Requite +1pt, Pedestal +1pt

Total: +7.5pts

Total on the day: +6.5pts

4:00 Southwell Racing Tips & Lay Bets (12th February)

SOUTHWELL 4.00

I can find 2 (Jorvik Prince + Glacier Fox) to lay in this race and to be fair there's not a lot to separate the rest of the field except for the one I will be backing, Amazing Amaya comes out 4th best but has only ever won once from 14 races on the AW surfaces, Red Stripes comes out 3rd top-rated and it usually leads or at least tries to lead so could go well, Piazon usually likes to track the leaders and comes out 2nd best on my speed figures but the jockeys 0-3 for this stable doesn't inspire confidence, my money will be riding on WARRIOR'S VALLEY 10/1 who has been well handicapped for a few runs now and has been running ok without winning this is a drop down in class compared to its recent opponents and I am hoping it can get back to winning ways now dropped to class 6.

Warrior's Valley 10/1 7th

Lay bets: Jorvik Prince (+1pt) Glacier Fox (+1pt)

Total +1pt

SOUTHWELL 4.35

There's only seven runners but a quite tricky looking affair.

Firstly, there aren't any known front running types in the race which complicates things.

I have a feeling Decision Maker, who won last time out and is my 2nd top-rated on just 2019/20 c/d times, has the stall 1 plum draw, so maybe the one to set the pace or at least contest the lead. If reproducing its best time from 2018 it could well win the race. However, its best rating from 2019 was 12lbs lower which puts me off its chances of winning this race.

I will look to lay both (Puchita + Bawtry Lady) I nearly added Isabella Ruby to the list of lays but it has a piece of form on turf that says it just might like this surface having never raced on it before.

Deeds Not Words has no form here but its best time from Chelmsford would certainly put it in the mix.

Rob's Delight is my 3rd top-rated on 2019/20 c/d times and has good trainer/jockey stat. A winner last time out, so in rude health and should go well again.

My money will be on GORGEOUS GENERAL 11/2 who ran over this c/d 5 runs ago in a class 4 race. Today sees it dropped to class 5 in 3 of its last 4 races but this is the 1st time for a while when its dropped in class and running over its favoured c/d then add on that it has very good trainer/jockey stats and I think it can get back to winning ways in this race.

Generous General 11/2 1st

Lay bets: Puchita (+1pt) Bawtry Lady (+1pt)

Total 7.5pts

Total on Day +8.5pts (+17.5pts profit in 2 days)

1:20 Southwell Racing Tips (1st January)

SOUTHWELL 1.20

FOOLAAD 13/2 is my 3rd top-rated both on 2019 c/d times and overall figures and usually likes to track the pacesetters and neither one to back or lay.

MOONRAKER 2/1 won last time out over this c/d and is 2nd top-rated here again on both 2019 c/d times and overall figures and could go well again here being just a couple of pounds off top spot and its one of two known front-running sorts in the race.

HART STOPPER 5/1 has only a slow time for its only c/d run and I think it might need further and also a faster surface than this one to show its best and lay at such a short price.

AIRSHOW 16/1 is the other known frontrunning type in this field but it looks as though further would suit it better, I'm not sure if it can lead here and an outsider.

SHAMSHON 12/1 has only slow times recently, even its best wouldn't see it winning this race, it may need further and a different surface.

SAMOVAR 6/1 usually likes to track the leaders and is my top rated again on both 2019 c/d times and overall figures and can turn the tables on Moonraker who beat it last time out.

SPIRITED GUEST 3/1 has 2 wins and 3 places from 5 runs on the AW tracks although none were here, I couldn't back or lay this one but the price is too short in my opinion.

SUMMARY: Moonraker won last time out when leading or contesting the lead from the off, that day I thought the only one that might catch it was SAMOVAR 6/1 but that day my selection didn't get away on terms and was always playing catchup I'm hoping it can track the leader here and prove the stronger at the finish so will be carrying my money to turn the tables.

Samovar 6/1 2nd

SOUTHWELL 3.40

ZAPPER CASS 11/4 is 3rd best on my speed figures and usually stays on at the business end of a race but maybe too late to win here and I would risk the lay at the price.

GRISONS 11/4 hasn't any surface form but has won on g/s going on turf so could go well, I cant back or lay this entrant but seems short for a horse that's not proven here.

MULZIM 16/1 hasn't any distance form to its name and this distance might be too short for it or on this surface, it could be a hidden danger, not a back or lay in my eyes at the price.

WARRIOR'S VALLEY 3/1 one of 2 possible pacesetters in this race and if this one does get to the front it could prove hard to catch and has a positive looking jockey booking.

ANDRE AMAR 11/1 is on a losing run of 11 and been out of form lately and I'm not convinced this surface will suit its racing style and I would lay it if backed to a single figure price.

TAN 20/1 another that may not favour this surface and it would need to improve timewise and would need an upturn in form to interest me and its the outsider of the field.

RED STRIPES 13/2 hasn't been in very good form lately but being a possible pacesetter it cannot ever be completely ignored but not for me till it shows a form revival.

SUMMARY: I'm hoping that WARRIOR'S VALLEY 3/1 can set the pace to this race and then prove hard to catch on this straight five-furlong course and the jockey 2-8 record for the stable looks a positive in making me think connections are expecting a big run here and will be carrying my money.

Warrior's Valley 6/1 3rd

11:45 Lingfield Racing Tips (21st December)

LINGFIELD 11.45

There's only 10 runners with 2 known frontrunners but a tricky little race to analyse in fact I can only find one runner that I think has very little chance of winning, Pink Iceberg could be a big danger if allowed to dictate the early pace, it's only had one AW run before but it should like this surface, Starchant and Pharoh Jake are well-weighted on their best form but both are on long losing runs of 23 and 15 but cannot be discarded lightly, Fareeq will be trying to stay on strongly at the business end of the race and could make the frame but my money will be riding on ROUNDABOUT MAGIC 3/1 who can be held up or track the leaders, its best c/d time from just 2019 puts it into 3rd top spot but it has a time from 2018 that's 10lb higher and if capable of reproducing that time here it could get back to winning ways in this race.

Roundabout Magic 3/1 3rd

LINGFIELD 12.20

Looking at the draw Laith Alareen from stall 3 could gain control of the rails and then prove a big danger if taking to this surface but I cannot find a reason why it shouldn't like it, Chitra the other known frontrunning type is 3rd top on 2019 c/d times and 4th top overall, Lalania has a time from Chelmsford that would move it into 3rd top spot overall but hasn't any c/d time to work with, 2nd top spot goes to Something Lucky but it's on a losing run of 26 races which I find off-putting, so in this race, I have to back WARRIOR'S VALLEY 11/2 who likes to track the pacesetters and from stall 2 it should be able to get a good early position from which to attack late on in the race and the jockey booking looks a positive making me think that connections are expecting a big run in this race.
