1:20 Southwell Racing Tips (2nd February)

SOUTHWELL 1.20 Div I

A 12 runner class 6 sprint luckily with a couple of front running types amongst them in the shape of Peachey Carnehan 7/1 and Winnetka but I doubt either can do enough from the front to win this race. Corinthia Knight may struggle to stay the distance with a decent early gallop but is too big a price to lay, Jack Ryan 9/1 is my 4th top rated horse and can be held up or track the leaders so could possibly make the frame, Give A Little Back 11/2 is my 3rd top rated and this one might be better when racing over further so could stay on to make the frame, I've got joint top rated horses, firstly Ramdon Rocks but this ones best Tapeta rating from Wolverhampton might have flattered it when it got towed along in a fast run race and it didn't seem to stay the distance on its only previous course and distance race. So I will be backing ST ANDREWS CASTLE 11/1 (EW) who can be held up or track the leaders and did show an indication last time out when finishing 4th that it was coming back to form and the jockey has a reasonable 17% win ratio for the stable, its stall 11 draw isn't ideal but if getting a good position from which to attack late on would have a decent chance of getting back to winning ways and if an each way price all the better. (don't look for the 2nd division of this race as with no known front running types in the field the race has me baffled). 

St Andrews Castle 11/1 Unp -2pts

CHELMSFORD 7.00 

A class 4 race where luckily there is 8 runners so 3 places available for any each way bets, Mick's Spirit 7/2 is up in class here and may struggle with the rise in class so might be worth laying if of value to do so, Blind Beggar 11/2 might need further to show its true worth and might not catch the leaders in time for the victory so maybe one to lay. Harb and Atiyah are front running types and my 5th and 4th top rated horses, Dusky Prince could do best of those coming from off the pace but if *LA ROCA DEL FUEGO 10/1 (EW) gets to the front I'm not sure it will catch it for the win so I'm hoping my selection can lead all the way and the trainer has a decent 29% win ratio on this course with their older horses and at the price it has to be given as an each way wager.

3:30 Lingfield Racing Tips (15th August)

LINGFIELD 3.30 

Class 5 race with 10 runners over 5 furlongs and 3 known front running types, if Khurumbi is a single figure price I will lay it as I'm not sure this surface will suit it and further might also be better for it, 2 of the possible pacesetters, Howzak and Red Walls, have been in poor form lately, the former could do best of the pair but usually gives an indication when a return to form is imminent Micks Spirit is my 4th top rated just 1lb below Saaheq in 3rd top spot so either or both could make the frame, I will be hoping that WINGS OF A DOVE 7/1 the other possible pacesetter can lead from stall 2 and gain control of the rails and once hitting the front could prove hard to catch.

CATTERICK 4.55 

A 10 runner race over 5 furlongs in a class 6 affair and 4 front running types in the field, Golden Hal and Astapor should ensure the early gallop is a good one although the latter races as though further would suit it better and might be worth laying if of value to do so, Red Allure is my 3rd top rated and likes to track the leaders, I have joint top rated horses, DAPPER MAN 15/2 in stall 5 and KING CRIMSON 4/1 in stall 7 and both are front running types so whichever one wins the battle could be the one to go on for the win but i honestly cannot split them and will be backing them both.

WINDSOR 5.20 

An 11 runner class 6 race over 5 furlongs with 4 known front running types amongst them, one horse I will be looking to lay is Bernard Speirpoint who seems to be a much better horse when racing over further, if Thegreyvtrain is a single figure price its another I would think about laying as its not running well lately despite being at the front in the early stages of a race and that's in slow run races which I doubt this one will be, We’re Reunited is my 3rd top rated and likes to stay on at the finish and further might suit it better but it could still make the frame here, FORESEEABLE FUTURE 11/4 is one of the likely leaders and being my 2nd top rated it could prove hard to catch if getting to the front and with the apprentice jockeys claim it only misses top spot by 1lb behind SPARKED 15/2 who usually tracks the leaders before staying on strongly at the finish as its so close between the pair of them I will be backing them both.

WINDSOR 6.50 

Class 4 race with 9 runners over 5 furlongs with 4 front running types in the field so it should be a true run race, the top weight Treacherous hasn't any form over today's distance but it might get outpaced here before staying on too late nearing the finish but if others falter it could possibly make the frame, any others that could be lays all look likely to be double figure prices and represent poor value, Son And Sannie who is my 4th top rated could do best of those coming from off the pace especially if the top 3 all go off too fast and fade nearing the finish, Coronation Cottage who is my 3rd top rated does its best form and ratings in lower class races so may be outclassed at this level, Just That Lord is my 2nd top rated and recorded its best speed figure over today's course and distance last year while my top rated LA ROCA DEL FUEGO 4/1 also recorded its best rating over this course and distance but it was recorded this year and if getting the fractions right could get back to winning ways in this race and i like the booking of the apprentice jockey who takes 5lb off its weight and has a one win from two rides for the stable.

7:00 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (6th December)

WOLVERHAMPTON 7.00 

LLAMBA 5/1 has a relatively low rating using a speed figure from Newcastle in 2019 but hasn't any recent surface distance form to work with but a longer distance might help its cause so could be worth laying if priced in single figures. 

CHERISH 5/1 has any form on an artificial surface over this distance but has won on good to firm ground on turf but its another that might prefer further to show its worth and another that might be worth taking on with a lay bet. 

MUTABAAHY 8/1 is another that may be better over a longer trip and time wise it would need to improve to win this race and would be a lay if priced in single figures, which I doubt. 

LA ROCA DEL FUEGO 10/1 one of two known front runners in the race and stall 9 in this race might not be too much of a hindrance and if getting to the front it could prove hard to catch as it comes out in top spot using its best Chelmsford speed figure and this is its first run over this distance on this surface but did seem to handle the surface when raced over 7 furlongs here. 

GHAALLYAH 16/1 hasn't any distance form to its name but has faded over 6 furlongs so this drop in trip could help unless it gets outpaced over this distance, I couldn't bet or lay this one. 

GOOD EARTH 7/1 only registered a slow time when finishing 2nd over this course and distance plus its run at Lingfield over this distance also resulted in a slow time, mainly I think because its a better horse over 6 furlongs, so maybe worth laying if single figure odds.

HIGHEST AMBITION 25/1 is still a maiden after 8 races, seven of those runs on an artificial surface plus 3 of those 7 were over this course and distance but I suspect it will be an outsider. 

GLAMOROUS FORCE 4/1 is usually held up for a late run over this distance and comes out 4th top on my speed figures so could possibly make the frame if others falter but isn't an each way price. 

WE’RE REUNITED 9/1 this one would need to improve time wise on what its shone so far in its races, its best time from 2020 over this course and distance would see it just outside my top 4 ratings so maybe worth taking on. 

YOU’RE COOL 33/1 is the 2nd known front runner and this one is in stall 10 but the trainer is 0-7 for the last 2 weeks and its 106 days and 53 runners since the stable last had a win. 

TRUSTY RUSTY 6/1 usually likes to track the leaders but from stall 4 it would need some luck not to get squeezed out in the early stages but could stay on with a clear run and possibly make the frame. 

SUMMARY: There are a few runners that I could look to lay depending on seeing the betting but I think this race will be won from the front as my top 2 rated horses are both likely pacesetters and my money will be riding on LA ROCA DEL FUEGO 10/1 (EW) who is being ridden by a 5lb claiming apprentice who has a very good strike rate for this stable on this horse and if getting to the front it could prove hard to peg back and at the price it has to be an each way wager.

5:25 Chelmsford Racing Tips (4th November)

CHELMSFORD 5.25 

I have found a couple of front running types which is always a bonus and even better when they are your two top rated horses, I'm not sure there will be anything of value to lay but the betting will decide, Smokey and Storm Melody my 4th and 3rd top rated horses could be the ones to prosper if the leaders go off too fast and fade but could be an each way wager anyways especially the latter as its time was recorded this year, I will be splitting my stake between DARK SIDE PRINCE 9/2 and *LA ROCA DEL FUEGO 5/1 they both have good trainer/jockey stats and i think the rest will find it hard to catch them if they get the pace right.

CHELMSFORD 5.55 Div I

Again I can find two front running types in this race and again it think it could be won from the front, I will look to lay Irish Times if its a single figure price as I think a longer trip will suit this one better, Bernard Speirpoint could do best of those coming from off the pace and could be worth an each way punt, the top weight HOWZAK 5/4 comes out 3rd best on just 2021 c/d times but it ran and won on Monday at Lingfield and that speed figure would make it my top rated depending on what size penalty it has to carry, it has come out joint top rated, but I have ROCKESBURY 7/1 who has a time from 2020 that makes it my top rated on overall figures, ignoring the top weight until I see that ones penalty, and another that likes to lead and I'm hoping that at least one of them can hold on for the win.

CHELMSFORD 6.25 Div II

The top weight Little Sunflower may set the pace to the race but would need to improve time wise unless its allowed an easy lead and sets a slow pace and keeps plenty in reserve to repel any late challengers, Iesha sits in 4th top spot on my figures just one pound below Giovanna Tiepolo who is my 3rd top rated, my 2nd top rated horse It Must Be Faith recorded its best time last year over this distance at Lingfield but I will be hoping that MAID MILLIE 10/3 can reproduce its best course and distance time from last year and if able to do so would be winning this race a shade cosily.
