5:25 Chelmsford Racing Tips (4th November)

CHELMSFORD 5.25 

I have found a couple of front running types which is always a bonus and even better when they are your two top rated horses, I'm not sure there will be anything of value to lay but the betting will decide, Smokey and Storm Melody my 4th and 3rd top rated horses could be the ones to prosper if the leaders go off too fast and fade but could be an each way wager anyways especially the latter as its time was recorded this year, I will be splitting my stake between DARK SIDE PRINCE 9/2 and *LA ROCA DEL FUEGO 5/1 they both have good trainer/jockey stats and i think the rest will find it hard to catch them if they get the pace right.

Again I can find two front running types in this race and again it think it could be won from the front, I will look to lay Irish Times if its a single figure price as I think a longer trip will suit this one better, Bernard Speirpoint could do best of those coming from off the pace and could be worth an each way punt, the top weight HOWZAK 5/4 comes out 3rd best on just 2021 c/d times but it ran and won on Monday at Lingfield and that speed figure would make it my top rated depending on what size penalty it has to carry, it has come out joint top rated, but I have ROCKESBURY 7/1 who has a time from 2020 that makes it my top rated on overall figures, ignoring the top weight until I see that ones penalty, and another that likes to lead and I'm hoping that at least one of them can hold on for the win.

The top weight Little Sunflower may set the pace to the race but would need to improve time wise unless its allowed an easy lead and sets a slow pace and keeps plenty in reserve to repel any late challengers, Iesha sits in 4th top spot on my figures just one pound below Giovanna Tiepolo who is my 3rd top rated, my 2nd top rated horse It Must Be Faith recorded its best time last year over this distance at Lingfield but I will be hoping that MAID MILLIE 10/3 can reproduce its best course and distance time from last year and if able to do so would be winning this race a shade cosily.

6:00 Chelmsford Racing Tips (16th September)

CHELMSFORD 6.00 

Its a class 6 race and its very confusing without the fact there's no known front running types in the race, looking at the early tissue prices the 1st 3 in the betting are 2 of the horses i think have a good chance of winning its only the top weight La Roca Del Fuego 6/1 who I think might be a shorter price than its actual chance of winning but nothing is written in concrete in the basement level of horse racing, I would have looked to lay both Aces and Big Impact if there was some definite early paced sorts in the race as they can struggle to stay the trip with a fast early gallop although the former does have a decent time from Lingfield but has 2 slow times over this course and distance, Irish Times and The Tron have the best speed figures from just 2021 but neither have very good trainer and/or jokey stats and the jockey on the latter is 0-19 riding for today's stable, I will split my stake in this race with a win bet on PERFECT SYMPHONY 6/1 who I think will be to the fore of the betting and hopefully an each way wager on *MAID MILLIE 6/1 (EW) who hasn't shown much in its 4 runs this year but last time out did point to it coming to form and it has won twice before after being out of the frame on its previous run but I have to admit my stakes will be kept on the low side.

What should be a nice class 2 race is spoiled by a poor turnout of just 6 runners where 2 of them are known as front running types and they happen to be my 2 top rated horses, I think the 3yo Inveigle 11/2 may be better when tried over a longer trip but this race could just be run to suit it, Soul Seeker 9/1 is making its debut on the AW tracks and would need to improve on its best speed figure from the turf, I've got Top Breeze 10/1 as my 2nd top rated but only 1lb below MAY SONIC 7/2 while the official speed figures make it the other way round by 2lbs and with them being so close it might be best to back the other one as a covering bet.

3:10 Chelmsford Racing Tips (3rd August)

My first thoughts is why is Alehandro 4/1 as I think it's better when racing over five furlongs but it is a 3yo so could improve but I'm hoping it's not in this race as I will be looking to lay it, the early pace might be set by Rockesbury and it could do enough to make the frame, I will be backing two in this race, firstly DELEGATE THE LADY 8/1 (EW) who is my top rated using just 2021 times over this course and distance, I admit MAID MILLIE 12/1(EW) hasn't shown much so far this year but has a time from 2020 that would make it my top rated so I'm covering the angles for both this year and overall figures and two each way bets could pay dividends

Only 5 runners and no known front running types amongst them, Seneca Chief 8/1 may struggle to stay the distance if there's a good fast early pace, Sweet Pursuit 5/2 hasn't been in form lately and looks poor value, Sarah's Verse 5/2 is my 3rd top rated while I have Gilt Edge 3/1 sitting in 2nd top spot while my money will be riding on STRONG POWER 15/2 who has a time from 2020 that would see it winning this race a shade cosily.

A field of 9 taking part with a couple of known front runners which means it should be a true run race, that's if all the runners are triers, I will look to lay Raaeb 3/1 who firstly looks poor value and I think it will be better when racing over further, of the two front runners I think Lomu may do best being my 2nd top rated on just 2021 course and distance times but that figure is only good enough for 5th top on overall figures but then again it does have a fast time from Lingfield so could do enough to at least make the frame, my money will be riding on JACK THE TRUTH 11/1 who has good trainer/jockey stats and likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish.

7:50 Kempton Racing Tips (3rd March)

KEMPTON 7.50 

SIR RODNEYREDBLOOD 10/3 won last time out at Chelmsford and has a winning c/d time to its name but that is 10lb below the Chelmsford times, its a shorter price than value because of those 2 victories, it should go well but maybe too high in the handicap now to follow up here. 

PHOENIX STAR 9/2 has the plum stall 1 draw and likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish and has won 4 races from just 6 previous c/d runs. 

ACES 4/1 is usually held up for a late run but may struggle to pick up the leaders for the win unless it can reproduce its best time from Wolverhampton on the Tapeta surface and in my opinion is way too short in price. 

GOLD COAST 14/1 hasn't any course form and it makes me think it will be better when racing over a longer distance which is reflected in its price.

BOUNTY PURSUIT 25/1 this is another horse that looks likely to be a better prospect when racing over a longer trip and is an outsider. 

LORNA COLE 18/1 has one c/d win from its 4 c/d runs but time wise it will need to improve a few pounds to win this race and again its reflected in its price. 

STORM MELODY 10/3 won last time out but it was a slow run affair and is shorter in price than it merits because of that but is well drawn in stall 2. 

MADRINHO 18/1 hasn't been in great form lately but does have a time from 2019 that would make it my joint 4th top rated but doesn't seem fancied here.

MAID MILLIE 28/1 is my top rated and has won once and been placed once from just 3 c/d runs and if stall 9 doesn't be too much of a handicap it ought to go well here and at the price is maybe worth a small each way bet. 

WHO TOLD JO JO 12/1 is 0-17 on AW tracks and 6 of those runs have been over today's c/d where it was placed twice but needs to improve time wise to win here. 

BERNIES BOY 18/1 is in stall 10 and normally for a front runner that wouldn't be ideal but it is the only natural leading sort in the field and could be dangerous if getting to the front so at the price i will have a small each way bet.

KNOCKOUT BLOW 14/1 hasn't shown much for quite awhile now over this c/d and hasn't made the frame in its 2 previous c/d runs. 

SUMMARY: Its not an easy race to analyse and I will go with dutching 3 horses in this race, BERNIES BOY 18/1 is the only known front runner in the field and if getting to the front it could prove hard to catch, PHOENIX STAR 9/2 has very good trainer/jockey stats and is my 2nd top rated on c/d times and it is well housed in stall 1, MAID MILLIE 28/1 is top rated on recent c/d times but unless it can follow the horse drawn on its outside across towards the rail it may struggle to get a clear run, so with the if’s and but’s in the race I will go with 3 small wagers in the race.

4:20 Chelmsford Racing Tips (18th February)

CHELMSFORD 4.20 

A 10 runner apprentice jockeys race, Solar Park, It Must Be Faith and Our Oystercatcher are the ones that could set the pace, on recent times there is only 2lbs between all 3 of them, the former Solar Park is joint top rated if i use a Lingfield speed figure but is 2 placed efforts but no wins from its 3 races over this c/d and its c/d time is well below its best figure, Suzis Connoisseur is the other joint top rated but that is using a Newcastle time recorded in 2019, as its an apprentice race my stakes wont be at full strength but i will be having a bet on BERNIES BOY 7/1 who is my 3rd top rated overall but top rated on just c/d times and that time was recorded in 2020, it should be staying on at the business end of the race then add on the fact its got the best of the draw in stall one.

CHELMSFORD 5.30 

Not the greatest of class 6 handicaps with 13 runners and 3 known as front runners, Young John who is favoured on this surface which also applies to Bellevarde, which leaves me thinking that Rebel Redemption from stall 1 might set the pace to the race and comes out 4th top on overall figures, I'm Watching You comes out 3rd best using a time from Wolverhampton but hasn't run on this surface before but would need to improve to win this race, Creek Harbour comes out 2nd best using a time recorded in 2019 but the trainers 1-27 record at this course is a reason to make me doubt it prospects in this race, i will be relying on MAID MILLIE 14/1 (each way), who has a time from 2020 that makes it my top rated and if reproducing that time it would be winning a little cosily and has won over this c/d before, it does have an absence to overcome which tempers my stakes but hopefully it will be an each way price.

6:30 Chelmsford Racing Tips & Lay Bets (1st October)

CHELMSFORD 6.30 

A nice class 4 race for the 1st sprint at this meeting, there's 5 known front running types amongst the 12 runners so it will be a true run dash, I will look to lay (Al Dawodiya + He’s A Laddie) who both need to improve on what they have shown so far, Restless Rose is my joint 3rd top rated and has the plum draw so will try to get a rails position just behind the leaders and then try to stay on, Daschas isthe other 3rd top rated and it likes to track the pace, I've got joint top rated with Cowboy Soldier who is a hold up type while the other one is JACK THE TRUTH and being a front runner and in stall 2 it could lead and gain control of the rails and then prove hard to catch.

My lays in this race will be (Lucky Lodge + Lethal Angel) if in single figures price-wise, there's a few that could run well, Cappananty Con, Nubough and Sir Hector and could be battling to make the frame, I'm not really sure what will lead so its hard to analyse the race but my money will be riding on MAID MILLIE who won last time out and a repeat would be enough to follow up in this race.

This is a dire race with lots of horses with very little form to work with and anyone of them could spring a surprise as the race will not take much winning, I will only lay one (Rocketeer) the pace could be set by Rockesbury and/or Tavener but they will hopefully set the race up for a hold up type hopefully in the shape of TOOLATETODELEGATE who has the ideal draw, stall 1 and will be running on strongly at the business end of this race but the trainers 1-42 record at this course is a bit off-putting.

5:20 Kempton Racing Tips & Lay Bets

KEMPTON 5.20 

With all the rain that's been about I'm glad I love AW racing, there are 10 runners but not one known as a frontrunning type which makes any analysis that much harder. I will look to lay (Noble Deed + Cool Strutter) but i think they will be outsiders, most of the others have some pieces of form that could make them competitive if running to their best, the topweight Seneca Chief is in tremendous form but this will be its 1st run at this course and isnt well drawn in stall 9 so looks poor value at 7/4, Bernies Boy has a time from 2018 that would see it make the frame but didnt reach that level in 2019 it likes to stay on at the finish and this race might not be run to suit its style but stall 1 is always a bonus, Mercers is a hold up type so another that might not have the race run to its needs, Vino Rosso has a time from Lingfield that would give it some degree of a chance but its one run here was quite poor, Deeds Not Words has the top speed figure using its best time from 2018 but its best since then has been 13lbs lower but this race wont take that much winning, the one my money will be on is MAID MILLIE 5/1 who likes to track the leaders and has the best recorded time from this year and its only previous win came over this course and distance.

7:00 Chelmsford Racing Tips & Lay Bets (27th February)

CHELMSFORD 7.00 

A strange race where I have got negatives against 6 of the 8 runners but only 2 I would look to lay (Pink Flamingo + Peggie Sue) Mythical Spirit has good trainer/jockey stats but hasnt showed much in just 2 runs in 2019 and 2020, Kaths Lustre won last time out but is raised in class here and would need to improve further to win this race if others run to their best, I will be backing 2 runners in this race firstly its WITH CAUTION 16/1 who is the only known frontrunner in the race and if allowed to dictate from the front could prove hard to catch and it does have good trainer/jockey stats to make me think they are expecting a big run and at the price, there is no way I can let it run without some money on it and could be a nice each way bet as long as all 8 runners take part but secondly if FANTASTIC FLYER 3/1 who won last time out runs to its best repeats its fastest c/d time it could follow up in this race and the stable does have decent trainer/jockey stats with their older horses.

CHELMSFORD 7.30

I thought the first sprint was a strange race this one is twice as bad, I can find a couple I would look to lay, (*Gunmaker 13/2 + Upavon 7/1) GRIGGY 11/4 has been in good form lately so cannot be discarded lightly, usually stall 9 would be enough to put me off the chances of AQUARIUS 12/1 but it is the only known frontrunning type in the race although BERNIES BOY 11/1 in stall 8 is a versatile type with its racing tactics and that does include leading but usually, it's only if nothing else wants to set the pace, this is only a class 6 race but MAID MILLIE 7/2 who won last time out was racing in a class 7 affair and not guaranteed to be as good now its back up in class. I think the winner will come from the 4 mentioned and maybe I will be able to dutch the 4 of them but maybe the best way forward is to win the race by just doing the lays.
