2:20 Doncaster Racing Tips (14th August)

DONCASTER 2.20

A field of 8, so lets hope they all run in case I find an each way bet, 6 of these have been known to lead so it should be a mad dash for the line from the off, I will look to lay Blackberry 11/4 as its 2 runs over this distance on good to firm going have been slow run affairs and in this race it might get outpaced in the early stages and may struggle to get back into the race so it might represent poor value as it is forecast to be the favourite, the bottom weight Saluti 3/1 might stay on better and could make the frame as others at the front tire but isn't an each way price, my money will be riding on BLUE DE VEGA 10/1 (EW) who using its best time from 2020 at Windsor comes out as my top rated, admittedly it doesn't appear to be in great form so far this year but this ones wins have all come in the summer/autumn July to September so I am hoping it bounces back to form in this race and looks the value call in my opinion.

NEWMARKET 2.35

A field of 10 with just the one known front runner, Grey Galleon has a good time from 2020 that would make it competitive but may be outclassed at this level, My Style, George Bowen and Mitrosonfire all have similar ratings and could battle to make the frame, my 2nd top rated is Brian The Snail 10/1 but this ones last win was in 2019 and the trainer is 1-27 at this course and the jockey is 0-10 for the stable so not sure what to expect but could make the frame, it should be staying on at the finish but this race might not be run to suit its style as with just the one known front runner CASE KEY 13/2 should be able to set its own pace and being my top rated it should hold on for the win and the trainer has had 6 winners in the last 2 weeks so is in pretty good form.

NEWMARKET 3.05

A field of 11 for this race with 2 known front runners in Premium Power and Meraaj but neither figure in my top 3 rating but if the latter was allowed an easy lead it could go well and might even make the frame but would need to improve time wise to win this race, Streamline has poor form on turf at this distance but has a decent time over this trip at Lingfield on the AW which would make it my 3rd top rating, Rathbone comes out in 2nd top spot using a time recorded this year at Thirsk but my money will be riding on FIRST FOLIO 7/2 who comes out top using a Yarmouth time when it won first time out this year and also won at York when the early pace was slower and you can ignore its last run on soft ground so its been found a good chance here on better going to get back to winning ways.

1:40 Newbury Racing Tips (16th April)

NEWBURY 1.40

A class 2 handicap dash with just eight runners but thankfully there is a couple of known front runners in the race, the bottom three in the handicap might struggle here as I think they will all need further to show their best, Mulzim also might want further but I'm not completely sure about that but I wouldn't back it but also i dare not lay it, Garrus has only had one run since 2019 but did win that year on its only run of the year so being off for a while isn't a negative for this one but the jockeys 1-16 record for the stable puts me off, Came From The Dark recorded a fast time when finishing third last time out at Musselburgh but the jockeys 0-12 record for the stable is putting me off this ones chances but these things do get broken, Tis Marvellous is one of the possible front runners but the trainer is 0-28 at this course which doesn't inspire confidence but the jockey booking looks good but his record on this stables older horse is 0-2 so i am not sure and it ran poorly last time out, I will be taking a calculated risk by siding with the other one which I think will set the pace and BLUE DE VEGA 12/1 (EW) could lead all the way here and looks the value call in the race especially as its an each way price.

Blue De Vega 40/1 EW 8th -2pts

BATH 5.40

A Listed class dash with fourteen runners with bottom six all being three year olds taking on their elders and it is unusual for a three year old to beat it’s elders this early in the season but there is always the exception although I am hoping that doesn’t happen here, Rosie Power and Wings Of A Dove could try to lead but Machree is the one I think might set the pace to the race as it has got some decent times and its best from last year would be good enough for it to make the frame but its first run this year was very poor, Wise Words is in 3rd top spot and only 1lb away from 2nd top spot using a 2019 speed figure, Texting is my 4th top rated and that is using a 2020 time so could be competitive, the one that comes out top on recent times and on my overall figures is ROSE HIP 18/1 who will be making her debut for this year but it has won before after a break so that might not be an issue and the jockey is 1-5 on the stables older horses and once again as the price is big enough it has to be an each way wager.

1:50 Ascot Racing Tips & Lay Bets (8th August)

ASCOT 1.50

Only Equiano Springs is known to lead but only when nothing else wants to and if leading here it might do enough to stay in the frame, I will look to lay (Highland Dress + Woven + Graceful Magic) both Dazzling Dan and Equitation could run well and might make the frame, I've got Chil Chil in 2nd position on my speed figures and along with top-rated horse THEOTHERSIDE 9/2 like to track the leaders, my selection is a 3yo that could still improve and has been found a nice chance to follow up its win last time out.

Theotherside 5/1 3rd (-1pt)

Lay bets: Highland Dress +1pt, Woven +1pt, Graceful Magic +1pt

Total:  +2pts

HAYDOCK 4.25

At first, a nice looking 8 runner class 3 race with a couple of known frontrunners but I have got negatives against 5 of the field and I would look to lay (Wedding Date + So Sharp + She Can Dance + Sound Of Iona + She Can Boogie) most of them because they may fail to stay the distance if there is a fast early pace, which I expect there will be, in 3rd top spot overall is Dancing Feet but that is using a time recorded on an AW surface, my 2nd top-rated is Betsey Trotter the one I expect to set the pace and it could try to steal the race from the front but I think the jockey on ARISTOCRATIC LADY 13/8 will cover the move and go on to complete its hattrick, I suspect it will be the favourite.

Aristocratic Lady 13/8 1st (+1.625) Betfair SP (2.24)

Lay bets: Wedding Date +1pt, So Sharp +1pt, She Can Dance +1pt, Sound Of Iona +1pt, She Can Boogie +1pt

ASCOT 4.45

I can find a couple of frontrunning types in the field of 10 here and also 4 to lay (Whelans Way + Bay Watch + Spirited Guest + Princess Power) all 4 of them race as though they will be better over a longer trip and may get outpaced in the early stages, Daschas is my 3rd top-rated and does stay on strongly at the finish over this minimum trip, I expect Kick On Kick On to set the early pace and it is my 2nd top-rated horse but the jockeys 0-46 record for this stable also the horse hasn't been in good form so far this year and maybe aimed at a future target so I will be backing BLUE DE VEGA 9/2 who won last time out and has been found a good opportunity to follow up here and the apprentices 5lb claim can swing things in its favour.

Blue De Vega 13/2 1st (+6.5pts) Betfair SP (8.67)

Lay bets: Whelan's Way +1pt, Bay Watch +1pt, Spirited Guest +1pt, Princess Power +1pt

HAYDOCK 4.55

A nice looking 8 runner class 4 race with a couple of known frontrunners and it could be won from the front, (Our Little Pony + Primos Comet) have negatives so I will look to lay them, the bottom weight Nibras Again won last time out but this rise in class will catch it out so I will add it to my lay list, Canford Bay may be in the grips of the handicapper of a rating of 81, Outrage is one the 2 possible pacesetters, Seen The Lyte could go well but my money will be on GLORY FIGHTER 9/2 and if it gets to the fore in this race it could prove hard to catch.

Glory Fighter 9/2 1st (+4.5pts) Betfair SP (5.28)

Lay bets: Our Little Pony +1pt, Primo's Comet +1pt

12:30 Newmarket Racing Tips (25th July)

NEWMARKET 12.30

Looking at the weather forecast I have most likely written today's blog in vain as each course is forecast to have rain, so please check the going before betting. The early pace will most likely be set by Outrage but unless allowed a ridiculously easy lead I doubt it can hold on for the win, Thegreatestshowman is my 3rd top-rated and can be held up or track the leaders as can my 2nd top-rated horse Line Of Reason so both could go well here but I will be backing BLUE DE VEGA 5/1 who usually tracks the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish and could get a good tow into the race being housed 2 stalls away from the likely pacesetter.

Blue De Vega 5/1 1st (+5pts)

Total: +5pt

YORK 3.50

A couple in this race who I will lay as they could struggle to stay the distance looking at the make-up of this race, (Abate + Autumn Flight) I think I should add Round The island to my list of lays as it looks outclassed at this level but it is capable of running a fast time which muddies the water a little, there's only 1lb between Normandy Barriere and Mutabaahy in 3rd and 2nd top spots, top-rated and the horse I will be backing is PADDY POWER 14/1 (EW) who hasn't shown much in its 3 runs this year but it looks to have been found an ideal opportunity to get back to winning ways but as usual when its a big price I would say to back it each way.

Paddy Power 18/1 Unp (-2pts)

YORK 4.25

I cannot work out which horse will set the pace here which always makes my analysis many times harder plus there's several horses that haven't got much data for me to work with, it's very close at the top of my speed figure list, Big Lachie is 3rd best and this horse is usually held up for a late run and its only rated 2lb below Roundhay Park in 2nd top spot and this one can be held up or track the leaders, top-rated but only by 1lb is FIRMDECISIONS 16/1 (EW) who likes to track the leaders and then stay on at the finish it will be the one I back with an each-way punt at the price but my stakes won't be at full strength.

Firmdecisions 28/1 8th (-2pts)

Total: -2pts

DONCASTER 5.30

There's a few lightly raced sorts in this race so my stakes won't be at full tilt here, Napping is capable of running well and producing good speed figures but it is usually in lower class races and this isn't the trainers favoured course with a 0-12 record, Gullane One is a possible leader here but its speed figures have gone down each year for the last 2 years so maybe past its prime at the age of 7, Choosey is another that would be fancied on a time from 2018 but hasn't been at that level since then, I will be backing *DEVIL'S ANGEL 4/1 who usually runs in the middle of the pack and then staying on resolutely at the finish but I cannot leave DANECASE 13/2 out as it won last time out over an extra furlong in a fast time and looking back at its best 6-furlong time from 2018 it would have every chance in this race.

5:15 Windsor Racing Tips & Lay Bets (6th July)

WINDSOR 5.15

KONCHEK has only slow recent times over this distance but has been tried in higher class races but has been out of form for quite a while now but would be dangerous if bouncing back to form plus it has good trainer/jockey stats so maybe they are expecting a big run here.

AMPLIFY can be held up or track the leaders but would need to improve on its best time from Bath to win this race and also to spring back to form.

TROPICS is a veteran 12-year-old and I doubt it can find the improvement in time needed to win this race and may finish too late to7/ get involved in the finish.

BLUE DE VEGA is my top-rated on this year's times and has an even faster time from 2019 that would see it winning cosily.

KICK ON KICK ON is one of the two known frontrunning types in the race and could do enough to make the frame but I doubt it can hold on for the win.

YIMOU has no distance form on turf and a slow time on its one attempt on an All-Weather surface and may need further to show its best.

DARK SHOT the other possible frontrunner and has a time from 2018 that would be good enough for it to make the frame.

SPOOF this may not want genuine good to firm going so should be ok here but it would need to improve on its best time to win here.

SECOND COLLECTION hasn't any form over this minimum distance and may need further to show its best and its usual hold up style would scupper any chance here so will need to change it

SUMMARY: I will look to lay 4 horses in this race, (Spoof + Dark Shot + Yimou + Kick On Kick On) the topweight Konchek may be capable of improving and could be an each-way bet, Amplify has good jockey stats but the trainers record with its older horses here is 0-10 which puts me off its chances of winning but it could still make the frame, as my data is only based on winners not placed horses as I wouldn’t back each way if I didn't think it could win the race, my money will be riding on BLUE DE VEGA 7/2 who usually likes to track the leaders and is drawn in stall 8 and should get a good tow into the race with the pacesetters being drawn in stalls five and seven.
