2:10 Chester Racing Tips (17th June)

CHESTER 2.10 –

5f –Class 3 – 8 Runners With 4 front running types it should be a true run race and at this course a lot of races are won from the front, I'm not sure if Speedacus is capable of leading here from stall 3 while Ancient Times has got stall 10 also both need to improve time wise to win this race, I think the 3yo Absolutelyflawless 15/2 will be better when racing over further so might be worth laying if a single figure near the off. Vespasian is my 4th top rated and Lihou is 3rd top and are a few spots behind my top 2 ratings but is a front running type and stall 8 might not be ideal in the make-up of this race but could do enough to make the frame, Leodis Dream is that 2nd top rated horse and likes to track the leaders but could get squeezed out in the early stages from stall 7. My top rated is COPPER KNIGHT 9/2 who has its ideal conditions for the 1st time this year and its best rating recorded last year was over todays course and distance and it looks as though this race has been its target and has been prepared for this race so hopefully it can lead all the way from stall 4.

CHESTER 4.30 –

6f – Class 4 – 10 Runners I can see 3 front running types and Cuban Breeze and Bezza's Lad from stalls 6 and 9 should make sure there's a fast early pace, if Follow Your Heart is a single figure price i would look to lay it as it either wants a longer distance or maybe some cut in the ground or maybe a bit of both while Ramon Di Loria finds this distance too far for it on fast ground. Ventura Express is my 4th top rated but I'm not sure if this turning track will suit it and from stall 5 its drawn between 2 fast starters so could get squeezed out, Roman Dragon is 3rd top using a course and distance rating from last year and from stall 2 it ought to be able to get a good position on the rails just behind the leaders, Ballyare is capable of recording a fast time but maybe not on good to firm ground at this level or at this distance. My money will be riding on TOUSSAROK 11/1 (EW) who is drawn in stall 4 and should be able to get away quickly and gain control of the all important rails position needed at this course, with its best ratings coming from Brighton and Goodwood it should be able to handle this track and at a double figure price it has to be given as an each way wager.

YORK 5.25 –

6f – Class 4 – 15 Runners In big fields here the draw favours those drawn low which wont help the cause of Abate, who is my joint 2nd top rated using a 2021 rating, completing its hattrick of wins but with only 1 other known front running type it might not be too much of a handicap and could possibly at least make the frame, I'm not sure if there's anything of value I can put forward as a lay but the betting might show me an opportunity but I will have to wait and see, Muscika is capable of running well, its my top rated using just this years ratings, and is my 4th top rated overall only rated 1lb higher than Rathbone in 5th top spot who from stall 3 could be the one to set the pace and if gifted an easy lead it could at least make the frame as its my top rated on just this years ratings, Showtime Mahomes is the other joint 2nd top rated using a Yarmouth rating from last year and is drawn in stall 1 which might be an advantage, Many A Star comes out in top spot using a 2021 rating recorded at Yarmouth that year and hasn't had many opportunities since then with ideal conditions. Its a tricky race and I will probably go with dutching 3 horses in this race with each way wagers, RATHBONE 22/1 who could lead all the way from stall 3 with very little competition for the early pacesetters role, SHOWTIME MAHOMES 14/1 who seems to like these courses without many if any undulations and MANY A STAR 20/1 who could go better than its form figures suggest because of the lack of ideal conditions and even then my stakes will be kept low.

3:20 Epsom Racing Tips (3rd June)

EPSOM 3.20

I must be mad trying to analyse a 20 runner dash at this course but I think there is a bias in favour of those drawn high and my 3rd top and top rated horses are front running types coming out of high number stall. I doubt many will be single figure prices so nothing will be of value to lay, LIhou is my 3rd top rated and drawn in stall 18 and can front run or stay on at the distance it has run well at this class 2 level before but its best form does come in lower class races so maybe a place is the best it could hope for, I've actually got joint top rated horses but that means that Clarendon House will need a perfect run from stall 2 to catch the leader on the line to dead-heat for 1st place so I would much rather rely on Mountain Peak from stall 13 getting to the front and if doing so should prove too hard to catch.

Small Each Way Bet: MOUNTAIN PEAK 12/1 (EW) Unp -2pts

EPSOM 5.05

A class 2 sprint with 14 runners where I think the early pace will be set by Mr Wagyu from stall 11 and it could possibly do enough from the front to make the frame but hasn't been in great form so far this year, I think that Probe might need some cut in the ground to show its best form and as its forecast to be the favourite it is one I will look to lay. Indian Creak is my 3rd top rated and has been running quite well lately and could do enough to make the frame again here and the apprentice jockeys 5lb claim can add to its chances, Count Otto comes out in 2nd top spot on my figures and won 2 runs ago so is in good form and could go well in this race but i will be taking a risk hoping that from stall 2 that Many A Star can navigate a clear run and if the going is good to form as forecast it could win this race but just because of the draw my stake wont be as high as it might have been but I'm hoping a small each way punt will pay dividends.

5:10 Ascot Racing Tips (6th May)

ASCOT 5.10

I hope all 8 runners take part just in case I can find and each way wager, I will be looking to lay Silver Samurai 10/1 as it may need further and this race might not be run to suit it, I expect the early pace will be set by Mines A Double 9/4 who could be dangerous if allowed an easy lead but if its as short priced favourite as forecast then it might be worth laying for the win part as it might do enough to still make the frame, Kimifive 14/1 would make the frame if able to reproduce its best rating from 2020 but hasn't been anywhere near that level since then, Spanish Star and Akkerinka have only 1lb between them and are my 2nd and 3rd top rated on recent ratings so could make the frame but my money will be riding on MANY A STAR 4/1 as long as the going is good to firm and the jockey does well when riding the stables older horses.

RIPON 6.15

Just 7 runners with one known front running type amongst them, I think Gullane One 8/1 might need this run for fitness and worth laying if a single figure price, the trainer Paul Midgley has two horses entered in this race where I have James Watt rated higher than Van Gerwin on my unique speed figures but jockey wise the one who does best for the stable is on the the latter so I'm a bit confused what the stable expects to happen, my money will be riding on the sole front runner DAPPER MAN 3/1 who finished third last time out and if allowed an easy lead in this race it should hold on all the way to the line for victory.

Dapper Man 3/1 6th -1pt

RIPON 6.45

Up to 9 runners for this race which means I can look for each way wagers, I will be looking to lay Shallow Hal 13/2 who might prefer some cut in the ground and the apprentice jockey is 0-16 for the stable, I will also look to lay Twilight Secret 5/1 it hasn't any distance form on turf and slow times when racing at this distance on the AW surface at Wolverhampton while Imperium Blue 8/1 may struggle to stay the distance so I could add it to my list of lays, Fortamour and Flying Pursuit are my joint 3rd top rated so could battle to make the frame but I will be backing MARK'S CHOICE 13/2 and MANIGORDO 8/1 both will be trying to stay on strongly at the finish and I have only 1lb between them so either could win the race.

Manigordo 8/1 2nd -1pt

2:50 Windsor Racing Tips (4th April)

WINDSOR 2.50

BERNADO O’REILLY won last time out on the AW, it only comes out 5th top on its turf form from last year and can be held up or tracks the leaders but might be one to lay as it will be a shorter price because of the win.

RECON MISSION hasn't produced a speed figure of note since 2020 a possible pacesetter or at least race prominently but i suspect an outsider in the betting.

ZIM BABY races in midfield or is held up but needs to improve time wise to win this race it has poorish trainer stats at this course but might be shorter because of the jockey booking so maybe worth laying if a single figure price.

INDIAN CREAK races in midfield and its best time from Goodwood leaves it short of winning this race but i suspect it will be a double figure price.

LITTLE BOY BLUE is usually held up for a late run but maybe not quickly enough to catch the leaders but I expect too big a price to lay.

DANCINGINTHEWOODS can track the leaders or be held up and can be relied upon to reproduce its best but that wont be enough to win here and i expect a double figure price.

MARLAY PARK may really need a longer distance to show its best and could be dangerous if able to track the leaders but might be outpaced in the early stages but another double figure priced horse.

YIMOU is my 3rd top rated horse it can be held up or track the leaders and could stay on well enough at the finish to make the frame so maybe worth an each way interest.

CRAZY LUCK this one might not want the going to be too fast but will be trying to stay on from the rear or midfield nearing the finish but maybe too late for the win but not of value to lay.

MANY A STAR is out top rated on my figures and has been running in better class races, has good trainer/jockey stats and usually tracks the leaders before staying on strongly at the finish.

SMEATON'S LIGHT is my 2nd top rated and has good trainer/jockey stats and could be the one to set the pace and has won before after a break so could be dangerous if leading.

INVER PARK 9/2 can be held up or track the leaders but time wise it needs to improve a good few spots but finds the trip too far on good to firm ground and prefers some cut in the ground.

THE CRUISING LORD hasn't been in good form in its latest runs and may not stay the distance with a fast early pace so will be held up but one to lay if of value to lay.

MISTER BLUEBIRD is another that may struggle to stay the distance so will need to be held up for a late run it is my 4th top rated but i expect it will be a double figure price and no value to lay.

COCO BEAR can be held up or track the leaders but seems better when there's some cut in the ground and one to lay if a single figure price.

SUMMARY: There is a few I will be looking to lay if they are value to lay but the betting will be the deciding factor for some of them but looking at the tissue prices, Bernado O’Reilly 4/1 and Zim Baby 7/1, could be short enough to lay I cannot see why Inver Park 9/2 is so short the tissue prices had it at 12/1 if there is some cut in the ground then it could well be the winner but if good or better it may struggle to stay the distance with a fast early pace but as normal if there is any cut in the going then I wont be betting in this race, as for the winner I will be having two bets firstly on *SMEATON'S LIGHT 16/1 who could set the pace to the race and if repeating its best rating from 2021 which was recorded over this c/d it could lead all the way and has to be given as an each way wager, i do have MANY A STAR 8/1 rated higher using a Yarmouth speed figure from 2021 but both ratings were recorded on good to firm going but with both having good trainer/jockey stats it makes me think both stables think their horse will run well here and both might be worth doing as each way bets but any bets or lays will be at low stakes.
