2:15 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (29th April)

WOLVERHAMPTON 2.15 

With 9 runners and 1 known front runner it might be an ok race to bet/lay in, for the lays I am looking at Gustav Graves 9/4 and *Capla Spirit 6/1 who both might find the trip too far for them with a good early gallop while Gherkin 3/1 might prefer the Polytrack surface, I've got Decision Maker 16/1 as my 2nd top rated and hasn't been at its best in its latest races but could make the frame if bouncing back to form while I will be backing RED ALERT 12/1 (EW) who is my top rated and does like a decent pace to aim at so this race could be run to suit it and hopefully an each way wager will play dividends.

A class 2 race with 10 runners and 2 known front runners so it should be a true run affair, as for lays Fine Wine 8/1 may prefer some cut in the ground and has poor trainer stats while Tone The Barone 6/1 may not want to be on the firm side of good, Lihou can produce good ratings but in lower class races but could possibly make the frame, Atlantis Boy could go well and will be trying to run on at the finish, I will be hoping LIVE IN THE MOMENT 11/1 who has a rating from Doncaster last year that makes it my top rated but the trainers 0-14 record at this track is a bit off putting and means my stake will be kept low.

GOODWOOD 3.50 

A 10 runner class 3 race with 3 horses that could set the pace to the race, Many A Star 7/1 would be a danger if it was good to firm going but may better in slightly lower class races so I doubt it will be winning this race, I'm not sure if I could lay Crimson Sand 11/2 but it does seem a better prospect on an artificial surface, The Lamplighter and Count Otto will both be trying to stay on at the finish and could possibly make the frame, I will be backing BOWMAN 22/1 (EW) who is dropped in class from its recent runs and jockey is 1-4 for the stable so hope its an omen and that connections are expecting it to get back to winning ways in this race and at the price I can go with an each way wager as a form of insurance.

I hope all 8 runners take part in case anything crops up as an each way bet, Tathmeen has been known to lead before but only when nothing else wants to but it doesn't usually win at this level but could make the frame, Spice Store may need a longer trip to show its best and hasn't made the frame in any of its 5 races so will be a lay if a single figure price, Redzone and Athollblair Boy are my 3rd and 2nd top rated and either could make the frame, my money will be riding on GINATO 4/1 but hasn't won from 16 races on the AW tracks but has made the frame in 9 of those races and as it has won on turf it is capable of winning so hoping it breaks its AW duck in this race.

I'm not sure I can find anything of value to lay in this race but the betting will be the deciding factor, the early pace will be set by either Another Angel and/or Swiss Connection and if the former can repeat its best 2020 rating it could easily make the frame as it would sit in 2nd top spot, I will be placing my faith in BLACKCURRENT 6/1 who has good trainer 28% and jockey 21% stats with their older horses, it finished 2nd last time out and can go one better in this race.

HAYDOCK 2.40 

WOW what a competitive looking class 2 dash, I can only see Premier Power as a possible lay bet in this race, Mountain Peak is one of two known front running types in this race and comes out 4th best on my figures so could run well and maybe even make the frame,Jawwaal is my 3rd top rated and only 2lbs below the pair who are my top rated, Mondammej is one of the joint top rated horses but drops to 2nd best when I take off the 5lb the apprentice claims riding COPPER KNIGHT 9/2 who is also the other known front runner and if getting to the front here it could be hard to catch.

Another nice looking race and class 3 this time, I think the early pace will be set by Al Simmo but it would need to improve to hold on for the win, Call Me Ginger who has won its last 3 races comes out 3rd top on my figures and maybe the handicapper has caught up with it, there is only 2lbs between my top rated pair and I will be backing both of them, NEVER DARK 8/1 and SECOND COLLECTION 12/1 as to be honest I cannot split them and both look good value at their prices with there being just seven runners.

A field of 12 for this race with a couple of front runners of whom Machree may go best but I doubt it can hold on for the win and I might well lay the other possible leader, Raydmoor who might have been flattered when winning a slow run race last time out, James Watt, Nibras Again and Deputise could all go well but I will be splitting my stake between COLEY'S KOKO 9/2 who is my 2nd top rated but only 1lb below ATLYAH 7/1 in top spot, the former is usually held up for a late run while the latter likes to track the leaders and then stay on resolutely nearing the finish.

As usual with an eight runner race I hope they all take part so there is 3 places available for an each way bet, it is a good looking class 2 race where I cannot see anything that I could dismiss its chances and lay it, Bossipop may do best of the two known front runners in the race as it comes out 4th best on my figures and could even stay on well enough to sneak a palace especially if others falter, Thegreatestshowman is sitting in 3rd top spot but the trainer is 0-10 in the last 2 weeks, Manigordo is my 2nd best rated horse and is usually seen staying on at the finish over this distance and could make the frame but it hasn't been in good form lately, my money will be riding on BOWMAN 10/1 (EW) who recorded a fast time at Carlisle and a repeat would see it winning a touch cosily.

Only 6 runners where the top pair, Nearly A Gonna and Ustath, look the likely pacesetters and the latter could be dangerous if allowed an easy lead and the former might have been flattered when it won 2 runs ago at Nottingham, Hurstwood comes out 2nd best using a time from way back in 2019, my money will be riding on SINGE ANGLAIS 13/8 who is from a stable in decent form in the last two weeks and it will be held up for a late run.

CHELMSFORD 7.30 

A class 4 race, 10 runners and 2 known front running types equals a true run affair, I would look to lay Seas Of Elzaam who should be staying on at the finish but maybe too late to catch the leaders, Garth Rockett has a good time from 2020 which would give it a good chance of winning but the jockey booking, 0-18, makes me think it will be aimed at a future race, I did have TOUSSARAK 7/1 and NIGEL NOTT 5/1 level on my ratings but the former has a 3lb claiming apprentice on board and the latter has a 5lb claiming apprentice, so just 2lbs between them but as the latter is the one I think might set the early pace and could prove hard to catch but just in case I will back them both to cover the angles.

Only 7 runners but 3 of them are known as front runners and five of them are 3yo’s so my stakes are already going to be low, I think *Iesha may need further and may be worth laying despite the fact this race might be run to suit its racing style, I think JORVIK PRINCE 9/1 should lead and then prove hard to catch and if reproducing its best time from 2020 would hold on for the win but its time from 2021 would give TOPLIGHT 9/2 a chance to pick it up in the closing stages and I will be backing them both.

3:30 Pontefract Racing Tips (23rd September)

PONTEFRACT 3.30 

An 8 runner race with 3 known front runners amongst them but I think they will set it up for something coming from off the pace, I could look to lay Penny Pot Lane, maybe not this class, Oso Rapide 10/3 who has shown very little time wise and the same applies to Cottam Lane 10/3 even when winning, Bossipop, Jordan Electrics, Lady Nectar and Mutanaaseq could all go well and battle to make the frame but i will be backing the top weight BOWMAN 11/2 who if it can reproduce its Carlisle time it would be winning this race a shade cosily.

The early pace might be set by Ben Macdul and/or Modular Magic either could go well with an easy lead but the former would need to improve time wise while the latter might be outclassed in this race, I will look to lay Saluti 11/2 who might prefer a longer trip and this race might not be run to suit it, the trainer Paul Midgley has 3 runners in this race and I think he could win the race with either INDIAN SOUNDS 10/3 or BALLINTOY HARBOUR 15/2 who both like to track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish and the latter does seem to need good to firm ground to show its best form, i will be backing them both in this race.

I hope all take part so I can have an each way bet in this race, I would look to lay Jorvik Prince who may need further and is better on the AW tracks, Gorgeous General 8/1 who also may need further to shine and Muatadel 11/2 who doesn't seem to like good to firm ground, the early pace might be set by Fossos who is my 3rd top rated or Equate both being 3yo’s could improve, Newgate Angel comes out 2nd top using a 2020 time my money will be on YOUNG TIGER 12/1 who comes out on top for just this year and its better time from 2020 makes it my top rated on overall figures and luckily the price is big enough for me to have an each way wager.

WOLVERHAMPTON 6.30

There's only 1 horse aged above four in this race so I am a bit short of data to be confident in this race and the funny thing is the oldest horse in the race *KATHERINE PLACE 6/1 recorded a fast time at Chelmsford when it won last time out and will probably be the favourite but it has been found a good opportunity to follow up that win and its best time over this course and distance is good enough for 2nd top spot and being the most natural front runner in the field it could lead all the way but stall 10 isn't ideal if others change their usual style and try to lead as well, the only horse with a higher speed figure is ROMAN ENCOUNTERS 14/1 (EW) who’s figure was recorded on this surface but at Newcastle and if this one is an each way price I will definitely be backing it.
