2:20 Brighton Racing Tips (31st May)

BRIGHTON 2.20 

A shame there's on 7 runners but hey ho it is what it is, firstly I will be looking to lay Shamshon 5/2 who might have been flattered when it finished 3rd last time out in what turned out to be a slow run affair and the pace in this race might be lot faster, Bowling Russiain 14/1 is my 2nd top rated but it is another that can struggle to stay the distance if there's a fast early pace but it might have been a worthwhile each way bet if there was 8 runners and 3 places up for grabs, I think the pace will be set by DOC SPORTELLO 8/1 who is my top rated and also the only known front running type in the race so it should be able to lead and if doing so will prove hard to catch and today's jockey has a good 31% win ratio when riding for the stable.

Another 7 runner race with a couple of possible pacesetters, as for lays in this race I can see two that might fit the bill, I think Kath's Toyboy 11/4 will be better suited to a longer distance and has only won once from 20 races so isn't a prolific winner also Hope Springs 5/1 who again might be better when racing over further and this one has poorish trainer stats and the jockey is 0-6 for the stable, King Crimson 8/1 is a front running type who comes out 2nd top rated on my figures so could go well but my top rated horse STREET PARADE 4/1 is the other front running type and if this one gets to the front it could prove hard to catch.

THIRSK 6.22 

This doesn't look too bad for a class 5 race apart from there's quite a few relatively lightly run horses with not much data to work with which always makes analysis hard plus a field of 16 makes the task even harder, I've no idea what will set the pace to this race but I've found 2 horses that have ratings that are usually found in slightly better races than this one, DREAM TOGETHER 13/2 is my 2nd top rated but only 1lb off of the top spot and in the last 2 weeks the stable has sent out 9 horses of which 2 have won so the stable is in good form and this one has to be backed if the ground is the good to firm ground that it likes best, my top rated horse in this is HAIL SEZER 10/1 and this ones trainer 2-7 in the last 2 weeks, so another in form stable and if the ground is good `or faster I will be backing them both but might cut it down to just my top rated if the going is just good ground.

SOUTHWELL 2.40 

A very nice looking class 3 dash with 6 of the 13 runners being known as front-running types and maybe they will battle too hard to gain control and play into the hands of a finishing type, I've got several that could make the frame, Zapper Cass who will be trying to stay on at the finish, Samovar who likes to track the leaders, Young Tiger would need to improve a couple of spots to actually win this race, Dark Shot who is versatile when it comes to racing tactics but its using a 2019 time the same with Requited but this one has been known to lead before, another 2 that could try to set the pace is Moveonup and Red Stripes. I will be backing two horses in this race, firstly DOC SPORTELLO 11/2 who has good jockey stats making me think they are expecting a big run but that also applies to my 2nd selection AIRGLOW who could get a good tow into the race from stall 10 but has a time from 2019 that would make it my top rated but only by 1lb so virtually nothing between them and my 2nd top rated one has the better draw and I might tilt my bets in favour of this one.

Another dash and again with 6 horses that have been known to lead also again I think it will play into a horse coming from off the pace, I will look to lay both (Lydiate Lady + Melgate Magic) who have both in poor form recently and are worth laying as long as they are in single figure prices, the 2018 Archimedes would probably be able to lead all the way here but hasn't been at that level since that year, the same applies to Robot Boy but has been a little worse recently, the top weight Honey Gg is another that could go well from the front if able to reproduce its best 2019 time, I will be hoping ARZAAK 5/1 can stay on the stronger at the finish and the jockey having his first ride for the stable looks like a positive booking.

Only 7 runners but no known frontrunners, I will look to lay (Lady Celia who may need further or a slower surface + Somewhere Secret who has poor times and doesn't seem to like good to firm ground) both Groundwork and Northern Society could go well if they run to their best but the one carrying the money is LYDIATE LADY 11/1 who likes to track the leaders and then run on strongly at the finish and its a shame there's not 8 runners so I could back it each way with 3 places up for grabs.

Down to 6 runners for this race and I will look to lay half the field, (Ey Up Its Mick who might not like the going + Kindly won't like it if the going is good to firm + Indiara who may need further) I am hoping that Gullane One and Kindly will set the pace and then my selection FINAL FRONTIER 5/1 will stay on the stronger in the closing stages of the race.

A field of 10 for this class 3 race with a couple of known frontrunners it should be a true run affair, I can only find (Cold Store) to lay as I think it needs either a longer trip or a slower surface maybe both, its a hard race to narrow down to a final conclusion and I have 4 runners that I think could possibly win this race, Teruntum Star, Music Society, Admiralty, and Monoski. Teruntum Star doesn't want good to firm ground, Admiralty has good trainer/jockey stats but its best time was back in 2018, Music Society also has good trainer/jockey stats but again might not want it to be good to firm ground, my main selection, therefore, has to be MONOSKI 12/1 (EW) who is only a three year old and could improve further and has a chance to lead all the way here but at these odds, it has to be given as an each-way wager.

It might be a race I should leave alone, I can only see (Momtathill) lay in this race and when it comes to finding the winner I have 4 runners on my list, *BROADHAVEN DREAM 18/1 and OUR OYSTERCATCHER 11/2 could do well from the front of the race and set a decent pace which could also play into the hands of DOC SPORTELLO 10/1 and INDIAN RAJ 7/2 who both like to track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish, I cant split either from the two sets of racing tactics so maybe dutching all 4 is the best line of attack.

This class 3 race looks a nice affair of the 10 runners I will look to lay 4 of them (*Green Power who might need further + Puds who won't get the easy lead it needs in this race + Magic J looked as though it wanted further at 6 furlongs so this trip should be too short for it + Outrage who has been out of form for a while now) there's a few that could go well in this race, Blue De Vega, Royal Birth, Line Of Reason and Mokaatil but I am hoping KONCHEK 3/1 can get to the front and if doing so could be very hard to catch and will be carrying my money.

4:15 Kempton Racing Tips & Lay Bets (9th March)

KEMPTON 4.15 

DOUBLE UP 12/1 is on a losing run of 20 which puts me off it has won over this c/d in 2017 from only 2 runs but its recent form hasn't been good and seems to be on a downward spiral with age.

DOC SPORTELLO 8/1 has a time from 2018 that would put it at the top of my list and the jockey booking looks a positive move.

BUNGEE JUMP 33/1 has been known to lead but stall 11 isn't ideal in the make-up of this race so could spend too much energy if it does try to lead.

BOOM THE GROOM 6/1 stablemate of Doc Sportello but this is another horse that seems on a downward spiral with age.

ENTHAAR 4/1 has good jockey/trainer stats so it could go well here and has a time high enough to make it competitive in this race.

ROCK BOY GREY 9/2 won last time out but this might be a step too far for it looking at its speed figures but has improved lately. 

BARRINGTON 9/1 from stall 2 this could be the one that tries to set the pace and has a time high enough to put it in the mix.

BADAYEL 4/1 hasn't any form on this surface at this distance and for a possible frontrunner stall 10 isn't looking ideal and a scramble for the lead could see it fade close home.

SOAR ABOVE 14/1 has been in poor form recently although a time from early in 2019 puts it in the mix it may be out of its depth in a class 4 race.

VENTURE 15/2 is only a 4yo and has improved recently and could go well again in this race but would need to improve timewise to win this race.

DISCREET HERO 50/1 has a reasonable time from 2016 that would make it competitive but its recent form has been well below that level.

OMRAN 16/1 has poor form recently and hasn't shown anything worthwhile over this course and distance so not for me.

CONCLUSION: It's quite a competitive race with just 2, (Omran + Boom The Groom) that I will look to lay, there's a couple of natural frontrunners in the race but both are drawn high, there's also 3 that are capable of leading but usually if nothing else wants to, I've got Barrington and Enthaar as my joint 2nd top-rated on 2019/20 c/d times and they are only 1lb behind Soar Above but this one might be outclassed in this race, the one carrying my money is *DOC SPORTELLO 8/1 who is a bit down on 2019/20 times but its best from 2018 would see it back to winning ways and the jockey booking looks a positive indicator that the connections are expecting a big run in this race.

Just a quick summary tonight as I am not feeling well and cannot be arsed to go into too much detail. I will look to lay (*Broken Spear) in this race, it's not a race to be betting in too heavily, Harry Hurricane is 3rd top-rated so could go well, while in 2nd top spot is Samovar who has won 4 and been placed 14 in its 28 runs over this c/d, I will be having a few pennies on DOC SPORTELLO 5/2 who likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish.

Another race where stakes will be kept on the low side, I will look to lay (Chitra + Double Up) there is very little between my top 5 rated horses, War Whisper, Foxy Forever, Young Tiger, Jonboy and Tathmeen, any of them could be placed but I will be backing TATHMEEN 5/1 in this race who is in good form and has been found a decent chance to follow up its win from last time out.

There are 3 I will look to lay (Northgate Lad + Mia Mento + Glenamoy Lad) for various reasons my 3rd top-rated is Buccaneers Vault but I will be backing 2 horses in this race, *INSURPLUS 15/2 has who has been running over further in recent races and it has a time from 2018 that would make it my top-rated but there aren't any known frontrunners in this race so it just might not be run to suit it as it will be trying to stay on at the finish but if the pace is slow those ahead of it might not be tiring enough so I will also back my top-rated on just 2019/20 c/d time and I KNOW HOW 3/1 won last time out and has been found a chance to follow up here so having 2 bets seems the only option.

Again a race not to be betting in too heavily, and maybe the lays will keep my head above water, (Arcavallo + Van Gerwen) my 3rd top-rated is Longroom but this one is on a losing run of 14 which isn't ideal, Patrick is my 2nd best and should be trying to stay on at the finish but I will be backing QAARAAT 8/1 who will try to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish and this race could be run to suit it.

NEWCASTLE 5.00 

EL HOMBRE could make the frame but needs to improve to win the race so a lay.

GLENAMOY LAD has poor recent form and a lay if value.

HEATH CHARNOCK not sure? it will like this surface so not sure what to think.

BRUSHWORK 2 runs = 2 wins and my joint 2nd top-rated.

BIG LES won last time out and could follow up here 10/1.

FENDALE this one may struggle to stay the trip so a lay.

SHALLOW HAL joint 2nd top but not been in good form recently.

DOC SPORTELLO on an old-time could go well here and a good jockey booking.

COMMANDER HAL has a good jockey booking but no form at this c/d.

HOWZER BLACK 0-3 on the AW but 3 places but debut here.

PRIMOS COMET a fairly consistent horse but better at shorter trips so a lay.

GLORIOUS CHARMER debut on this course but maybe better at 5 furlongs I could lay it.

KUPA RIVER could set the pace and maybe do enough to make the frame.

BLACK FRIDAY is o-4 on the AW and may need further to shine so a lay here.

SUMMARY: A tricky race so I will be dutching 3 horses, BRUSHWORK 2/1, BIG LES 10/1 and DOC SPORTELLO 20/1 the former is a possible pacesetter while the other pair will be trying to stay on strongly at the finish and quite good value to back the 2/1 favourite and then do 2 each way bets on the other pair.

BROUGHTON EXCELS this one may not like this surface so a lay.

DAHIK a possible frontrunner and it is its debut on this surface.

MI CAPRICHO hasn't any distance form on the AW but may need further so a lay for me 

ELEUTHERA I'm not sure it will like this surface but not sure enough to lay it.

KOMMANDER KIRKUP will need to improve timewise to win but could go well.

I KNOW HOW has a slow time at this c/d and maybe it doesn't like this surface so a lay.

AQUARIUS a possible leader and could do enough to at least make the frame.

THE GREY ZEBEDEE another I would look to lay as this distance looks too far for it.

JEFFREY HARRIS my 4th top-rated so could go well here and has been in good form.

HERRINGSWELL will be running on at the finish and is top of my list plus has good stats.

MUTABAAHY 3rd top rated on c/d times, it is top if using a Wolverhampton time but out of form.

MARCO LEE has only a slow c/d time and looks better over shorter trips so a lay.

BILLY WEDGE looks as though further would suit it better so a lay.

SUMMARY: I'm hoping with early pace coming from stalls 9 and 14 my selection HERRINGSWELL 6/1 will get a good tow into the race and then stay on the stronger and the apprentice's allowance could swing things even more in its favour.
