7:30 Newcastle Racing Tips (11th September)

NEWCASTLE 7.30

Blackcurrent 6/1 who today is in stall 9 tried to lead all the way over this distance last time out at Southwell but didn't quite make it and I think it will be more of the same in this race as its only 4th top on my figures plus this is a stiffer course, it doesn't look like I can see anything of value to put forward as a lay as for the winner I've narrowed it down to 3 possible winners, 7/2 shot Show Compassion comes out in joint 2nd top spot but this ones best time was recorded at Wolverhampton and usually races in midfield but is well drawn in stall 10 so if taking to this course it could go well here, Mumcat 7/1 is the other joint 2nd top rated but this time this ones best rating was recorded at Southwell and can be held up or track the leaders and is coming out of stall 5, the top rated LAERTES 7/2 in stall 11 didn't record its best rating on this Tapeta surface doing it at Chelmsford, it has had one previous run over this course and distance where it was slow away and that race can be best ignored but if able to reproduce its best rating on this surface it would win with a bit in hand but I will most likely have smaller covering bets on the 2 that are top rated on this surface.

The most likely leader in this race is Lancashire Life 14/1 but stall 1 isn't ideal but does come out 3rd best on my ratings so if allowed an easy lead it could run a big race so might be worth an each way interest if a double figure price, Churchill Bay 25/1 could go well if reproducing its best rating but that was at Wolverhampton while its best course and distance rating is quite a few spots lower so maybe this straight course isn't ideal for it and its stall 3 draw will hamper its chances further, TATHMEEN 14/1 comes out in top spot and admittedly hasn't been in the best of form recently but has won before without prior warning and could bounce back to form here, its versatile with its racing tactics which can include leading so I'm hoping it can take advantage of its stall 14 draw and get back to winning ways.

The early pace in this race looks most likely to be set by Annie Maher 25/1 and from stall 11 it ought to go well but its not it my top 4 ratings but if allowed an easy lead it could do enough to make the frame, Phoenix Star 20/1,Glorious Rio 7/2 and Lady Celia 7/1 could go well if reproducing their best ratings from 2022, the one I will be backing is well drawn in stall 13 so should get a tow into the race by the stall 11 front running type and then URBAN DANDY 12/1 could stay on the stronger nearing the finish and find itself back in the winners enclosure.

3:10 Southwell Racing Tips (28th August)

SOUTHWELL 3.10

5F Class-6 14-Runners

I can see 3 horses that might set the pace to this race and on this straight course the draw isn't too significant, 2 of the possible pacesetters are 3yo’s and would need to improve time wise to win this race but they are of an age when improvement can come without warning so never discount them but I will expect Mehmo 8/1 to set the pace and being my 3rd top rated it could at least do enough to make the frame and if allowed an easy lead it could be dangerous but I will as always stick with the proven, I cannot see anything to lay that I think will be a single figure price so I will stick with looking for the winner, Micks Spirit 14/1 is my 2nd top rated on overall figures but is actually my top rated on just 2023 ratings but it hasn't shown much in its last 5 races so would need to spring back to form to have a chance of winning this race. GOLDEN RAINBOW 20/1 (EW) comes out in 4th top spot using just 2023 ratings but has a rating from 2022 that would see it winning this race a shade cosily admittedly it hasnt been in great form this year but has been slow away or held up in most of those but if it gets away on terms here it could prove the stronger nearing the finish and is dropped in class to run in this race and will be carrying my money even though it does look to be the stables 2nd string and hopefully it will be an each way price.

SOUTHWELL 4.25

6F Class-6 Div1 14-Runners.

There is five 3yo’s in this race which always muddies the waters, Congress has the best form of the quintet but the time was relatively slow when it won over course and distance last time out and this looks a tougher race and once again its a race where I don't think I can find anything of value to put forward as a lay bet. Autumn Flight 12/1 is one of the two known front running types in this race and is my top rated on just 2023 course and distance ratings so could possibly win this race, The Waiting Game 11/10 won when I backed it last time out being backed down from an early 9/1 price but that was at Chelmsford on the Polytrack surface and it did win very convincingly that day leading all the way, its other victory also came over the same course and distance, so if taking to this surface it could quite easily complete its hattrick but I expect it will be a fairly short priced favourite so not really a value bet, if Eldeyaar 16/1 can reproduce its best rating from Wolverhampton last year it would be winning this race with a little bit too spare. I think the winner will come from this trio so maybe dutching them will be the way forward in this race.

Dutch The Waiting Game 11/10 + Autumn Flight 12/1 + Eldeyaar 16/1 with a win bet and 2 each way bets.

6F Class-6 14-Runners

Up to seven 3yo’s in this race it might normally be a race to tread very carefully in but from what they have shown so far one of them would have to improve to win this race. Firstly, I will look to lay Blackcurrent 8/1 if its a single price as it struggles to stay the distance in a true run race which it might get here with Tathmeen 6/1 my 3rd top rated likely to lead here, as i cannot see a natural looking front running type in this race but it has led before, and if allowed an easy lead it ought to at least do enough to make the frame and might be worth at least a bet, *Deputise 3/1 comes out in 2nd top spot but is only 2lbs higher than the 3rd top rated on 2023 ratings and only 1lb higher using 2022 ratings which shows how close things are at the top of my ratings, it would be folly to ignore Jumira Bridge 20/1 who is my top rated overall and it recorded that rating this year at Wolverhampton and is the type of horse that can spring back to from without warning so this looks to be another race where dutching 3 runners might be the solution to the race but maybe the lay should be the priority in this race.

Lay Blackcurrent 8/1

8:15 Newcastle Racing Tips (3rd August)

Eric has been a bit quiet due to the soft going and lack of all-weather racing.

NEWCASTLE 8.15

6F Class 6 Div I

13-Runners A poor race with five 3yo’s who are capable of improvement without prior warning but only 3 horses that have been known to lead and 2 of them only usually do so if nothing else wants to do so and using that theory then maybe Tathmeen will take on the pacesetters job and if allowed an easy lead it could lead all the way for victory but I'm hoping it will be a double figure price to be worth an each way punt. Dandy's Derriere 12/1 won the time before last but that was a slow run race and may have been flattered by that result and will be one to lay if a single figure price, I doubt anything else will be of value to lay. I tipped up Mostallim last time out when it was backed down from 8/1 to 5/1 and changed it usually racing tactics to take on the pacesetters role and led all the way winning quite cosily at Chelmsford and with the jockeys 5lb claim its my top rated here and has won twice from 4 previous runs over this course and distance and is well drawn in stall 13 and could lead all the way again in this race. I will be backing them both but my main bet will be MOSTALLIM 5/2 and then a smaller each way punt on TATHMEEN 16/1 (EW).

6F Class 6 Div II

13-Runners This 2nd division has the problem of having no known front running types among them so automatically my stakes will be kept low, in fact this race may be best served by laying horses rather than backing them. Caribbean Sunset 4/1 has won over this distance but is a better horse over a shorter distance and as long as there is a strong early gallop, I'm sure something will decide to try and win from the front as what very happens in this sort of race is that the trainers know about the lack of pace so decide to change their usual tactics but more than one has the same idea, I think it may struggle to stay and I will look to have a small lay on this one, I am not sure why when looking at the early tissue prices that Mutanaaseq 10/3 is predicted to be the favourite, yes it did win last time out on turf at Catterick but that was over 7 furlongs and it seems to prefer a longer distance plus its 0-9 on the AW tracks so another I will look to lay. Struck Gold 9/1 is 0-7 on the AW tracks and its 3 runs at Wolverhampton over this distance hasn't produced anything worthwhile time wise so that's a trio of horses that could be worth laying. If I do back anything in this race then I have found a couple of horses that are predicted to be big prices and may represent value in the race and a couple of small each way punts on KRAKEN POWER 16/1 (EW) and CHURCHILL BAY 66/1 (EW) may pay dividends but it isn't a race to be betting in too heavily.

SOUTHWELL 2.05

Just 7 runners for this class 6 dash over the straight 5 furlong course on the Tapeta surface where the early pace might be set by Dapper Man 2/1 and/or Thegreatestshowman 11/1 but I doubt that either of them can hold on for the win, I actually doubt they will make the frame unless one of them is allowed an easy lead but I would look to lay both of them if of value to lay, Show Me A Sunset will be trying to stay on at the finish but maybe too late to win this race as it would need to improve time wise to even make the frame but very often when a fancied horse cannot win the race it stops being ridden out and something unexpected then makes the frame. I've got Primo and Apache Star as my joint 3rd top rated horses and the former might be better suited to a longer distance race. Snow Berry who usually likes to track the leaders is my 2nd top rated horse so could go well here but if THE TRON 8/1 can reproduce its best rating recorded over this course and distance four runs ago it would win this race a shade cosily.

NEWCASTLE 7.40

A field of 9 for this class 6 dash with a couple of known front running types, Another Angel 5/4 is one of them but in this race it only comes out in 3rd top spot but did win very easily just the other day so cannot be ignored but I wouldn't back it at such a short price as I think it represents poor value. I'm not sure if the drop in trip will suit Stallone 13/2 but has faded over 6 furlongs so it might suit it but it could also get outpaced here so not sure whether I would lay it or not, I will be hoping that ROCKLEY POINT 9/1 (EW) can either lead or at least pester Another Angel for the lead and if getting to the front it could prove hard to catch and at the price it might be best to have an each way bet.

NEWCASTLE 8.45

A full complement of 14 for this class 6 sprint where I can see 3 natural front running types and one other that can lead but doesn't need to so it should be a fast early pace, I'm not sure if there is anything at a value price to lay in this race, I have 5 or more marked down as having virtually no chance but I expect they will all be double figure priced horses. Hilary's Boy is my 4th top rated but hasn't been in good form lately which is enough to put me off siding with this one, I've got BAYRAAT 8/1 (EW) marked down as my top rated but the trainer has had 33 runners over the last 231 days without having a winner which is a little off-putting and I could confidently back it as a sole selection, my 2nd top rated horse is TATHMEEN 10/1 (EW) and this horse is more than capable of winning a race like this one and this is the horse that I said could lead but doesn't need to to win a race so I was going to back the 2 selections but then I noticed my 3rd top rated ELDEYAAR 20/1 (EW) is from the same stable and this is one of the more natural front running types and when i checked the jockey stats I saw that the jockey Ray Dawson has had three rides for the stable and has won on two of them so I couldn't back the stables other runner without also backing this one so I will be having an each way bet on all 3 of them at the prices available.

5:40 Newcastle Racing Tips (13th April)

NEWCASTLE 5.40

A class 6 sprint with 12 runners and 2 possible pacesetters, Thaki is the more natural front runner of the pair and using a 2021 rating is my joint 5th top rated, with an easy lead it could do enough to make the frame but would need to bounce back to form and improve time wise to win this race so one I would lay if its a single figure price which I doubt. One that according to the early tissue prices will be a single figure price and one that I will look to lay is Blazing Son 9/2 who likes to track the leaders but time wise has a few spots to find I doubt any of the others that I would feel confident to lay will be single figure prices so wont represent value to lay. Dream Together is my other joint 5th top rated and it likes to track the pacesetters, rated just 3lbs higher using a Southwell rating is Mumcat in 4th top spot and this one can be held up or track the leaders. Jem's Bond sits in 3rd top spot using a course and distance time it recorded this year when winning here so could make the frame but I doubt it will be an each way price (well my definition of each way value). The bottom weight Merry Secret is my 2nd top rated using a course and distance rating recorded in 2022 and usually stays on strongly over this distance and may be better when tried over a longer distance. Top rated on my figures is TATHMEEN 8/1 who is well handicapped and if able to reproduce its best course and distance rating from this year would see it back in the winners circle it is a versatile type when it comes to racing tactics and has even been known to lead before and is drawn on the favoured high side of the course, it has finished 3rd and 2nd in its last 2 runs and hopefully will go one better here.

5:15 Lingfield Racing Tips (3rd April)

LINGFIELD 5.15

A field of 9 for this class 6 sprint where I think the early pace might be set by Sir Rodneyredblood 13/8 who I expect will be the favourite as it won for me last time out but the handicapper might have caught up with it now and its only 3rd best on my speed ratings but is my top rated on just 2023 ratings so it could win again but I don't think it will value to back and I will side with my ratings and hope the others can reproduce their best 2022 ratings. If Okaldi is a single figure price I would look to lay it as I think it will need further to see it at its best while Hit Mac 13/2 finds this trip too far especially when there's a fast early pace which I expect here so another on my lay list. Come On Girl 9/2 is my 2nd top rated and has been running ok recently but time wise has been a good few spots below its best from 2022, BOBBY ON THE BEAT 9/1 (EW) is my top rated and looks to be coming into form and being drawn just on the outside of the likely leader it could get a good tow into the race and then stay on the stronger at the finish and its just about a big enough price to go with an each way punt but its a race where my stakes will be kept to a minimum.

NEWCASTLE 8.30

A field of 10 for this class 5 sprint where the early pace will be set by either Murbih 7/2, but I doubt it can lead all the way for the victory and at this price might be worth taking the risk and laying it, or TATHMEEN 11/1, the former is a natural front running type while the latter is capable of leading but is also quite versatile when it comes to racing tactics and is better drawn in stall 9 and if getting to the front it could prove too hard to catch. I will look to lay both JR Cavagin 9/1 who may find the distance too far for it with a decent early gallop and Rhythm 10/1 who needs to improve a good few spots on its best AW rating and may need this run for fitness if they are single figure prices. Glorious Rio 9/1 is my 4th top rated and looks likely to stay on at the finish but most likely too late to get the victory but could make the frame, Atholblair Boy 11/2 won last time out 10 days ago and comes out 3rd best on my figures so knowing its in tip top form it could go well here but I doubt it will be an each way price, The Dunkirk Lads 14/1 is only a 4yo but is my 2nd top rated and likes to track the leaders and would have been worth an each way interest if it wasn't in such poor form recently.

2:25 Lingfield Racing Tips (31st March)

LINGFIELD 2.25

A 12 runner race where I can see 3 horses that could lead but it looks likely that they will be setting the race up for something coming from off the pace. Toplight 11/2 might struggle to say the distance with the fast early pace so maybe one to lay, Viewfromthestars 11/2 my 4th top rated and Dark Design 7/1 my 3rd top rated are both versatile with their racing tactics and that includes leading so either could do enough to make the frame but neither are what I would call each way prices, Real Estate 12/1 sits in 2nd top spot and likes to track the leaders so could make the frame and maybe worth an each way wager if it stays at a double figure price nearing the off while my top rated horse DEPUTISE 18/1 can be held up or track the leaders it hasn't been in the best of form recently and it looks to have had excuses in most of those races but the switch of jockey looks a significant as his record is 3 wins from just 7 rides for the stable.

SOUTHWELL 4.20

This class 4 dash has 6 front running types amongst the 14 entrants and it looks most likely it will be won from the front, *Justcallmepete 5/1 might prefer further so I will look to lay it, Bert Kibler 7/1 is my 3rd top rated and could do best of those coming from off the pace and if the leaders battle too hard and fade it could possibly win the race but I will hope that doesn't happen, Khabib 10/1 comes out in 2nd top spot and is in stall 2 while my top rated horse ANGLE LAND 4/1 is drawn in stall 13 and if this one gets to the front it ought to prove too hard to catch.

LINGFIELD 4.35

A field of 9 for this 5 furlong dash with 4 of the runners having been known to lead before so it should be a fast and furious race. Storm Melody 7/1 won last time out but might be outclassed as its never won at this level before but could still run a decent race so I will look to lay it but only for the win part, Man On A Mission 7/2 could do best of the rest coming from off the pace but looks too short in the betting for its actual chance of winning this race, The Defiant 12/1 is a front running type and could go well but hasn't been in good form recently so not sure what to expect, so I will be hoping the top weight PABLO DEL PUEBLO 9/2 can get to the front and prevail but this one also hasn't won at this level before but this does look the easiest class 5 race its ever ran in which is the reason why its the top weight.

3:50 Lingfield Racing Tips (3rd February)

LINGFIELD 3.50

A field of 12 runners with 2 and possibly 3 that could set the pace although I think Our Man In Havana is only likely to lead if nothing else wants to set the pace but I doubt it will need to do that here and Viewfromthestars another that has led before but neither of them are in my top 4 ratings so would most likely to struggle to win the race even if they do lead. Macon Belle 6/1 may struggle to stay the distance with a fast early pace and it finished 2nd in a relatively slow run affair so may have been flattered by that result, San Juan may also prefer a longer trip and would need to improve time wise to win here. Lothian is my 4th top rated and can track the leaders or be held up for a late run but would need others to falter to win this race. Inaam usually stays on at this distance and could run into a place nearing the finish, Iesha is my 2nd top rated but hasn't been in good form lately so I will be hoping that CREEK HARBOUR 16/1 (EW) can set the pace to this race and if getting to the front it could prove hard to peg back if on a going day but I don't think its a race to be betting heavily in but if an each way price it might be worth a punt.

NEWCASTLE 6.45

A field of 9 with just 1 known front running type, the figures for this race are a bit of a mixed lot and either its going to be a very competitive affair or something could win cosily, I'm not sure I could lay anything with confidence, Gannon Glory my 5th top rated, Pockley my 4th top rated and After John in 3rd top spot have the best recent ratings but there is only 2lbs between them so that could be the competitive part, Atholblair Boy is 2nd top rated but that's using a 2021 rating and its win 2 runs ago resulted in a slow time so that doesn't fill me with confidence but the top weight SPARTAN FIGHTER 33/1 is the likely pacesetter and if getting it right from the front could prove hard to catch although its also not been in great form lately but the apprentice jockey has a 28% win ratio when riding the stables older horses so lets hope that's a good pointer here.

NEWCASTLE 7.45 Div II

A field of 11 for this class 6 2nd division, looking at the bottom 6 in the handicap I expect them all to be double figure prices and I would lay anything that's not that big. Jem's Bond has been running well but either the going was riding slow on both of its last 2 runs or they were slow run races, its not enough for me to confidently lay it but I sure couldn't back it either. Ustath could set the pace to the race and is my 4th top rated so could possibly do enough to make the frame if others falter, Cheese The One is in 3rd top spot and is usually held up for a late run, while Giselles Izzy likes to attack from midfield but I've got TATHMEEN 6/1 as my top rated and if able to reproduce its best Southwell rating here it ought to get back to winning ways but it has only produced a slow time over this course and distance before so my stake will be kept low.

A field of 9 runners with no known front running types which is always a pain for analysis, Kraken Power 4/1 may need further or a different surface maybe even both so may be worth laying but only to a small stake with the pace problem. Gunnerside is 4th top. Rose Bandit in 3rd top spot but this one is in good form winning last time out, Spanish Angel also won last time out but that was a slow time race and if there isn't a good early gallop it could follow up here as could my 3rd top rated, in fact it gives more horses a chance of winning but I will be hoping that YAAHOBBY 10/1 can get back to winning ways it races as though further might suit it better so will I expect make sure the pace is fairly fast and it has the same trainer/jockey stats as the 6.45 race, so hopefully at least one of them will win.

6:15 Newcastle Racing Tips (13th January)

NEWCASTLE 6.15

A field of 12 for this race but none of them are natural front running types which always muddies the waters for my analysis so my stake in this race wont be very high, After John 13/8 has won its last 3 races and maybe the official handicapper has caught up with the now and being a hold up type maybe this race wont be run to suit it so at the price it looks very poor value so I couldn't back it if its a short priced favourite but I also couldn't lay it with any confidence either as it is my 3rd top rated but there's only 4lbs between my top 4 ratings. Starjik is my 4th top rated and usually tracks the leaders so might try to lead here especially if nothing else wants to and would then be very dangerous if given a soft lead, Thaki my 2nd top rated is another hold up type so I will have a small bet on MACHO PRIDE 7/1 who can be held up or track the leaders so should be able to adapt to whatever pace is set to this race, the stables I reasonably good form and its best rating was recorded over this course and distance.

I think the early pace to this race could be set by Rockley Point who is my 5th top rated and might be able to do enough to make the frame, Embla 5/1 races as though further would suit it better so this race might not be run to suit it and might be worth laying at the price, Annie Rose is my 3rd top rated using a Wolverhampton rating from last year, Elzall is usually held or races in midfield before staying on at the finish but if TATHMEEN 7/1 can reproduce its best rating from 2021 it would win this race a shade cosily and usually races in midfield or tracks the leaders.

I backed Mehmo when it won last time out at Southwell in what was a slow run race but this race looks a much better affair and its not in my top 4 ratings for this race we do that its in good form which is always a positive plus its the only known front running type in the race so I couldn't lay it, Kraken Power 7/4 may want further or a different surface or maybe a bit of both and I would look to lay it if value to do so, it won yesterday over this course and distance and that was a relatively slow run race and if the 2nd had got a clear run it would have beaten it. Stroxx will be trying to stay on at the finish but maybe too late to catch the leaders and it might be better when racing over further but is still a maiden after 32 runs with 11 being on an AW surface, Nellie French hasn't recorded a decent rating since 2020 but that rating would be good enough for 2nd top spot, Basholo 14/1 is my top rated but this one is 0-9 on the AW tracks and has just 1 win from 16 races in total. So looking at all the data and form to bet in this race would be risky so its either small stakes or leave the race alone and maybe the best way to profit from this race is to concentrate on the lay previously mentioned, now I've seen the betting maybe an each way punt on BASHOLO 14/1 (EW) could pay dividends.

2:30 Newcastle Racing Tips (3rd August)

NEWCASTLE 2.30

What a waste of time most of my hard work has been, there are 7 sprints today but after doing everything for each race I'm down to just 2. I'm not sure what will set the pace to this race but it could be TATHMEEN 10/1 and if it can then reproduce its best time from 2020 it would become my 2nd top rated and this is a drop in class so could lead all the way and will be carrying some of my money, I'm not sure if Slainte Minath 4/1 likes this surface as its one run here was a poor effort, as it won last time out on soft ground at Ayr it might be a shorter price than its chance merits and may be worth taking a risk and laying it, Lincoln Pride 9/2 may need further but as its only a 3yo I'm not 100% sure enough to actually lay it, unless its a short price, Zamjar 20/1 and Billy Wedge 9/1 have bits of form and could possibly make the frame but I will take a punt and back ARNOLD 13/2 who has never won on an artificial surface from 11 attempts but has made the frame in 6 of them and could break that duck here but the jockeys 0-28 record for the stable is a bit off-putting so I will go with backing the 2 horses to cover the angles.

PONTEFRACT 4.50

If i knew what was going to set the pace and more importantly how strong a pace, it would make my analysis very much easier, the 3yo Sherdil has won twice over this distance at Beverley but they were both slow run affairs so not sure what it can do with a fast early pace but this race could be run to suit it, Ballintoy Harbour 18/1 and Soul Seeker 9/1 are both capable of winning this race on a going day but both have been way out of form recently so I couldn't back them and I think they will be too big a price to lay, Rhythm 12/1 and Melody King 4/1 are joint 3rd top rated on more recent form and could make the frame, Lost My Sock 5/1 usually stays on at the finish so maybe this race wont be run to suit but is my 2nd top rated, I will be backing VAN GERWEN 16/1 (EW) who usually likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish, it has good trainer/jockey stats and its best rating was recorded this year at Ripon and a repeat would see it back in the winners enclosure and at the price means it can be backed each way.

3:12 Southwell Racing Tips (24th February)

SOUTHWELL 3.12

Only 7 runners so maybe no each way bets, I will look to lay Broken Spear 8/1 who may need further and this surface might not suit it, Patsy Fagan comes out 2nd top rated but that was recorded in lower class races so might not be able to repeat those ratings in this class of race but I'm not sure I could lay it, Global Warning 5/1 may set the pace to the race and being my 3rd top rated it could take some catching but I do have SHALLOW HAL 5/1 rated higher and this one usually likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish.

Shallow Hal 5/1 2nd -1pt

SOUTHWELL 3.47

There's 9 runners this time, I could look to lay Hey Mr 6/1 if its a single figure price as this isn't its favoured surface and Corinthia Knight who hasn't been in form lately and its last AW win was back in 2018, Mulzim 28/1 might be overpriced if the tissue prices are to be believed and could possibly make the frame, AIRSHOW 7/1 might have been my sole bet in this race as its my top rated using recent c/d ratings here but the trainers 1-27 win ratio at this course is a little bit off putting plus its been 9 runners and over a month since they last had a winner, NIGHT ON EARTH 4/1 comes out top rated using Tapeta times either at Newcastle or Wolverhampton and this one usually runs on well in the closing stages of the race.

SOUTHWELL 4.22

A class 6 stakes race where Papa's Girl 3/1 should win being the top rated on the official handicappers ratings but is only 4th top rated on recent c/d speed figures so maybe not of value to back, I was going to look to lay Arzaak 5/1 who seems better on the Polytrack but with no known front runners in this race that might not matter too much but Gleaming Maize 8/1 may prefer further and this race might not be run to suit it so maybe worth laying if a single figure price, my money will be riding on BLUELLA 16/1 who usually stays on at the business end of a race and does look to be running into form and the stable is in good form at the present.

A poor turnout of just 5 runners for this race where Alablaq might set the early pace and could be dangerous if allowed an easy lead as a longer trip might suit it better and is dropped in class to run at this level, I will look to lay Gowanlad 9/4 who might prefer a longer distance and this race might not be run to suit it plus its got poorish trainer stats with an 8% win ratio while the jockey is 2-31 and 0-18 on the stables older horses, my money will be riding on TATHMEEN 3/1 who usually tracks the leaders and then stays on strongly at the finish.

NEWCASTLE 8.00

The pacesetter in this race is likely to e Joshua R and it could be dangerous if allowed to dominate and set its own slower early pace, Elzaal 15/2 comes out top rated but may need this run for fitness after a 136 days break, Amazing Amaya 9/2 could go well and make the frame but would need to improve a little time wise to win this race if others reproduce their previous best, I will be looking to back the top weight TANASOQ 7/1 who is a previous course and distance winner and the jockey has a 27% win ratio when riding for this stable, it should be staying on strongly in the closing stages of the race

2:45 Lingfield Racing Tips (4th February)

LINGFIELD 2.45

This is one of those lowly stakes races and to make things worse there isn't any known front running types in the race, I think that Cool Spirit 9/2 is better over a shorter distance and might be worth laying if the price is right but that will be hoping the early pace is fast enough to ensure it doesn't last home, I could also lay *Million Reasons 11/4 who is forecast to be the favourite here won last time out in a slow run race so may have been flattered and Ocean Eyes 7/2 who was 2nd that day is weighted to reverse the form in this race, Perfect Symphony 10/1 is another that looks better over a shorter distance and might be worth taking on with a lay bet, as for winning this race I will be backing 2 horses, KNOCKABOUT QUEEN 9/2 who is my top rated on just recent, 2021/22 c/d speed figures and is usually held up for a late run so will be hoping the early pace is strong enough for the leaders to be tiring as this one starts to run on, the same applies to my other bet INDEPENDENCE DAY 4/1 as this one is also a hold up type and this ones best time comes from 2020 but did record a time last year at Newcastle to show it has still got enough to win this race if on song.

Only 6 runners with only Blazing Hot 3/1 been known to lead before although this one is versatile with its racing tactics and doesn't have to lead but could attempt to do so here and could be dangerous if allowed a soft lead, I will look to lay Ubaahha 12/1 if its a single figure price at the off, Ginato 15/2 has a good speed figure but is still a maiden on the AW surfaces after 11 attempts plus its been over 80 days since the stable last had a winner which is off-putting and the jockey is 0-7 for the stable, my money will be riding on DEEVIOUS BEAU 5/2 who has the best Southwell rating and 2nd top on this surface at Wolverhampton and it has good jockey stats making me think connections are expecting a big run here but is a bit shorter in price than I was expecting but hey ho a winners a winner.

The early pace in this race could be set by Mokaman and/or Fine Wine 8/1 although I think the latter may prefer the Polytrack surface and is one I will look to lay if its a single figure price at the off, others I will be looking to lay for various reasons are Sugar Baby 3/1, Lazyitus 8/1 and One Hart 6/1, if TATHMEEN 9/1 reproduces its best time from last year it would be winning this race with a bit in hand and it recorded an even better rating from 2020 so will be carrying some of my money but I will also be backing THE THIN BLUE LINE 7/2 who recorded a good rating from Southwell, this is its debut over this c/d but if repeating its best Southwell speed figure it would have a very good chance, (I have sort of contradicted myself saying both horses could win this race it is down to the fact that with Southwell having the new Tapeta surface installed 2 months ago it is still hard to compare those ratings against the Newcastle and Wolverhampton ratings).

2:25 Southwell Racing Tips (27th Jauary)

SOUTHWELL 2.25

I will look to lay Digital 12/1 if its value to do so because it struggles to stay this distance in a true run race, Tommy De Vito 3/1 will need to improve time wise on its Newcastle rating to win this race but when a horse wins it can bring about improvement so I cant put it up as a lay, Shallow Hal would have every chance if able to reproduce its best 2020 rating but hasn't been quite up to that level since then, MOHAREB 13/2 has the best rating on just recent c/d speed figures and being the only known front runner in the race it could go very well from the front and will be carrying some of my money but I will also be backing *ASTRO JAKK 12/1 who is a very close 2nd on recent c/d speed figures and comes out in top spot on figures from Newcastle and Wolverhampton and this one has good trainer/jockey stats.

This race is hard to back down to a conclusion, Eye Of The Tiger 11/2 hasn't been in good form recently and one I will look to lay, *Decision Maker 10/1 may need this run for fitness so may be worth taking on with a lay bet, Inclement Weather 4/1 has a chance on my speed figures but the trainer is 0-3 at this course and the jockey is 0-24 for the stable so another one to consider laying, I will be covering the angles with 2 bets, TOPTIME 3/1 is one of 2 known front runners in this race it has good trainer/jockey stats and just top rated on c/d times on this new surface, the other bet is going to be on STORM OVER 20/1 also has good jockey stats but the trainer hasn't had a winner for the last 77 days but has the plum stall 1 draw and could go best of those coming from off the pace.

This is a poor race with 3 known front 'runners and of that trio I will be hoping that JEANS MAITE 8/1 can do best and is 2nd top on just recent c/d times and it is only a fraction slower than GLORIOUS CHARMER 6/1 so it could be very close between the pair of them I have to add into the mix BLUELLA 16/1 who comes out top on Tapeta speed figures but from the other two courses, the trainer does quite well here but hasn't had a winner in 43 days from 20 runners, I'm not sure there is anything of value to lay and my stakes will be kept low in a race which wont take much winning.

The early pace to this race could well be set by Barrington but I doubt it will be good enough for it to win but being my 4th top rated it could make the frame so maybe worth an each way bet if of value, I would look to lay Mrs Bagerran 13/2, Clear Angel 8/1 and Perfect Soldier 15/2 if they are single figure prices nearing the off, I will be splitting my bet between TELL’EM NOWT 4/1 and BERYL THE PERIL 7/2 the former will be trying to stay on at the finish as it races as though a longer trip might suit it better but has recorded what looks to be a decent speed figure on this new surface, the latter will be tracking the leaders and then stays on strongly at the finish and has good trainer/jockey stats.

NEWMARKET 2.40

I'm hoping the going is good or better here, the course does dry out quickly as its a chalky area so please tread carefully and watch an earlier race if possible to see what the going is like. In this race I will look to lay Beauty Choice 8/1 who might prefer a longer distance than today's to show its best but this should be a fast run affair which should suit it, Equiano Springs 8/1 is one of the two known front running types in this race and it comes out 3rd best on my figures so could make the frame and worth an each way interest, TOUSSARAK 5/2 is the other likely pacesetter and comes out 2nd best on my figures using a time recorded at Goodwood and if getting to the front could prove hard to pass and does have good trainer/jockey stats and has to have some chance especially if my top rated horse WORLD OF WINDHOVER 11/4 doesn't repeat its best time, which it recorded at Yarmouth, over this completely different kind of course so I will be backing both of them to cover the angles.

A poor class 6 race even by All-Weather standards but hopefully I've found a gem amidst the dirt, I have marked down both *Iesha and Big Impact as possible lays and are forecast to be single prices in the betting there are other possible lays but I expect them to be outsiders in this field, Blue Cable is my 4th top rated using a 2021 time, Jungle Inthebungle comes out 3rd best using a 2020 time, in 2nd top spot is Bernards Spierpoint but this ones best time wasn't done on this surface, THAKI 7/4 is my top rated and the only known front runner in the race and if getting to the front it ought to prove uncatchable and the trainer and jockey stats hopefully point to the stable expecting it to win here, the price is pants but a reproduction of its last win would see it winning a shade cosily.

A strange looking race with just the one known front runner in the field, I will look to lay Strong Power 10/1 and Show Me A Sunset 11/1 if they are single price figures in the betting, so I'm hoping they are backed a little, the main strange thing is that its impossible to narrow it down to a one horse conclusion so it looks like I will be dutching 3 horses in this race, SEEKING PERFECTION 14/1 who is the front running type and could go well especially if allowed an easy lead and is my 3rd top rated,*TATHMEEN 10/1 is 2nd top rated on just 2021 times and with the apprentice jockeys 5lb claim it moves to top rated on my overall figures but only 1lb above *CANFORD BAY 9/2 who is top rated on just 2021 times so I will go with a win bet and two each way bets.

4:10 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (20th May)

WOLVERHAMPTON 4.10

A field of 10 with 3 or possibly 4 of them having been known to lead before so it should be a true run affair although the 3 that I would say are natural front runners would all need to improve a good few spots to hold on for the win, Last page is capable of going well but doesn't like a really fast early pace so may struggle in the make-up of this race, Nubough has a time from Newcastle that would make it my top rated but this ones times here over both 5 furlongs and 6 furlongs are head and shoulders above what its managed elsewhere including over this c/d, my money will be riding on my top rated TATHMEEN 20/1 (EW) who is the possible 4th pacesetter although it doesn't have to lead to win, in the make-up of this race it should be able to get to the front or at least contest for the lead from stall 6 with just 1 known front runner drawn on the inside of it and if getting there ought to prove hard to catch but at the price it has to be an each way punt.

WOLVERHAMPTON 4.40

A field of 13 and just the one known front runner in the shape of the stall 11 horse YOU'RE COOL 8/1 who starts off as my 3rd top rated but the apprentice jockey riding it has a 0-6 record for the stable which is a bit off-putting but it could do enough to make the frame as all my data is kept for the win parts of a race and not the placed efforts, Qaaraat could go well but would need others to falter to even make the frame but never say never with this quirky animal coming out of stall 1, in stall 2 we find Aces another that could go well in this race being my 2nd top rated but being a hold up type the draw is a little irrelevant, I will be hoping that from stall 12 (SFUMATO--non-runner) will be able to track across to the rails by following the horse drawn on its inside and then gain a good position from which to attack at the business end of the race and the apprentice riding my selection has a good win ratio when riding for this stable. OK so one of my original selections is a non-runner so I will stick to the one selection hoping it can lead from start to finish.

A class 6 handicap dash with just the one known front runner, I don't think its a race to be betting too heavily in, Katherine Place has a good time from Lingfield which would make it my 4th top rated but hasn't run at this course before and the trainer is 0-11 here, Solar Park is versatile when it comes to its racing tactics and is my 3rd top rated so could go well, the bottom weight Aguerooo is my joint top rated but that is using a time from this year at Lingfield and its best c/d time is a fair few spots below that level, the other joint top rated is JORVIK PRINCE 20/1 (EW) and this one is the only natural front running type in the race although stall 9 isn't ideal in the make-up of this race, which might be the reason its such a big price, it might not be too much of a handicap in the make-up of this race and if it does get to the front it should prove hard to catch but at the price I have to suggest an each way wager.

NEWMARKET 4.30

A nice looking class 3 handicap with 11 runners, I can see a couple of front runners which is always a bonus, the 2 at the bottom of the handicap are capable of recording fast times but in lower class races but could do enough to make the frame but I couldn't rely on them with any confidence, Jack The Truth 9/1 is one of the likely leaders and its best time from 2019 would see it going well, the trainers 2-34 record puts me off a little but the jockeys 2-4 record puts me in a spin as to what the connections are expecting and could do enough from the front to at least make the frame, looking at the tissue prices I cannot see why (Arafjan) is forecast to be the favourite, I would look to lay it, I myself will be hoping that HAN SOLO BERGER 11/2 can finish strongly here and get it back to winning ways, it can track the leaders or be held up and the jockey booking looks a positive as he has 24% win ratio on all his rides for the stable as moves up to 29% on the stables older (4yo and above) horses.

A 10 runner class 5 race with a problem, I will look to lay a lack of early paced types but I think/hope I've worked something out in this race, one I will look to lay if a single figure price is (Stars In The Night 3/1) as its times from anywhere over this distance are relatively slow and at the price looks very poor value, any others I think could struggle are all forecast to be biggish prices, on a Wolverhampton time Jumira Bridge comes out 4th top rated overall but only 1lb below Gleniffer 14/1 in 3rd top spot but this ones best time was recorded here and also this year which is a positive so I am a bit surprised to see its a double figure price, my 2nd top rated is KLOPP 10/1 who comes from the Antony Brittain stable but it is 4lb below the top weight TATHMEEN 9/2, both usually stay on strongly at the finish but I think they could run them both to set it up for one of them to win, if pushed I would go with the top weight but I will have to back them both as it would be easy to fix it for either to win the race,

WOLVERHAMPTON 6.30

Airshow is the only known front runner in the race but time wise it doesn't quite make my top 3 and its best form is over 5 furlongs, Grey Galleon 3rd best on recent, 2020/21 c/d times usually stays on at the business end of a race, Hurcle hasn't any surface form and may be better over a shorter trip, Save The Spirit hasn't any c/d form but has a good time from Newcastle but I'm put off by the jockeys 0-11 record for the stable, Jackstar comes out 2nd top on recent c/d times but that drops to 4th on overall figures, Tathmeen is my top rated on recent c/d times and has to have a very good chance here, Martineo hasn't any recent c/d times but has a good time from 2019 that would make it 2nd top on overall figures and has recorded a good time at Lingfield this year which shows its in decent form, Superiority has only had one c/d run which was in a slow time and looks better over shorter trips, Big Impact may need further to shine and hasn't shown much decent form lately.

CONCLUSION: I will be backing two runners in this race, TATHMEEN 10/1 who is usually held up for a late run and is top rated on recent c/d times which is always a positive, MARTINEO 2/1 has shown at Lingfield its in good form this year which was within 1lb of its best time recorded here in 2019 and this one likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish.
