4:45 Goodwood Racing Tips (26th May)

GOODWOOD 4.45 

A poor turnout of just 6 runners for this class 3 dash with 2 known front running types and they are my top rated pair as well so the race should be won from the front, Angle Land might not want good to firm ground and I'm not sure what to expect from Watchya who has weakened over 6 furlongs but might get outpaced here, Some Nightmare might need further on good to firm ground and Vince Lombardi may prefer a further distance to show its best form, The Defiant is my 2nd top rated but might have got towed along in a fast run race, there is only 1lb between my top 2 but I will be backing LIHOU who has been in the better form of the pair and should prove the stronger nearing the finish.

PONTEFRACT 8.55 

Again a poor turnout of just 6 runners but this time there is just 1 known front running type and that is Impeach and as this one is my 2nd top rated the others could struggle to catch it but I do have BALLINTOY HARBOUR rated higher using a 2021 rating it recorded and this one runs on well at the business end of its races and likes the good to firm ground. Ventura Express is my 3rd top rated but would need to improve a few spots to win this race and I can see a reason to lay the other 3 runners as they all race as though a longer distance would improve their chances of winning a race.

7:30 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (9th January)

WOLVERHAMPTON 7.30 

5 Furlongs Class 4. 

POP DANCER usually races in midfield or held up for a late run but needs to improve time wise to win this race so one I could lay. 

DUSKY PRINCE is my 3rd top rated using just Southwell ratings but only 4th best on other Tapeta ratings should be staying on at the finish but most likely too late for the win. 

BELLAGIO MAN hasn't any form over this distance on an artificial surface as I think it needs further to show its best form so this distance may see it finishing but too late to win the race. 

DOUBLE DEALING hasn't any distance form on Tapeta apart from Southwell but that rating is a good few spots off my top ratings. 

LIHOU is the only known front running type in the race and being my 2nd top rated it could go very well especially if allowed an easy lead.

YAAHOBBY is my top rated on ratings from all 3 Tapeta courses and could get a good tow into the race being drawn next to the likely pacesetter. 

SUMMARY: The only sprint for me today and a poor turnout for this class four race of just six runners. If the early pace is set by LIHOU 2/1 and its allowed an easy time up front it could possibly lead all the way here so I will have to back it to some degree but on my figures it could get caught by YAAHOBBY 7/1 who will be trying to stay on at the finish, my bets will probably be tilted in favour of my top rated but if either wins i will come away with a profit.

4:45 Newmarket Racing Tips (8th July)

NEWMARKET 4.45 

With 6 known front runners in this race it could be a fast and furious dash, it looks mighty competitive race so not one to be betting too heavily in, Tees Spirit has been in good form lately but the handicapper might have it in its grip now so it could run ok but maybe not enough to win so maybe one to lay, Ancient Times one of the possible pacesetters could go well from those that like to race to the fore and might be worth an each way interest but I will be hoping another front running type LIHOU 12/1 (EW) who won last time out can follow up that win here and it does have good trainer/jockey stats and makes me think connections think it can win this race and at the price it has be given as an each way wager.

I can see 4 and possibly 5 horses that could set the pace to this race, I will be looking to lay Ghathanfar who looks a much better prospect over 6 furlongs so may get outpaced in this race and then stay on too late for the win, Albegone is capable of producing a good speed figure and has my highest speed figure but in lower class races than today's so it may get outclassed in this race while King Of Tonga needs to improve time wise and may be better over further, James Watt comes out in 4th top spot and could make the frame here, VAN GERWEN 18/1 (EW) is my 3rd top rated and likes to track the leaders before staying on strongly at the finish but i do have the front running type Modular Magic (non-runner) rated higher and if this one gets to the front it could prove hard to catch and can hopefully hold on for the win and if it wasn't for the trainers 0-6 record at this course it would probably have been my sole bet in this race but the jockey does do well for the stable. With the non-runner I will now be going with an each way punt on Van Gerwen hoping it stays on strongly enough at the finish to pick up the leaders.

WOW what a class 3 race this is, I can see 3 horses that like to lead, I'm not sure if I can find anything of value to lay although Mitrosonfire 9/1 came very close to being one but I expect it might be a double figure price, looking at my speed figure ratings Tanmawwy, Asad, Epsom Faithful, Lucky Man and Treacherous are all closely rated and it could be fine margins of luck in running that could decide this race but if either Antiphon or Emperor Spirit get an easy lead they could pinch this race from the front especially the latter one who is my top rated but the trainers 1-31 with its older horses at this course is a bit off-putting but it does have good jockey stats so I will be hoping that EMPEROR SPIRIT 6/1 can either lead or at least contest the lead from the off and stay on the stronger at the finish and this race is a drop down in class from its recent run.

CHEPSTOW 6.45 

For a class 6 race this one looks quite good with 3 known front running types it should be a true run race, I could look to lay Louis Treize 15/2 who might need further to show its best and get outpaced here in the early stages and then try to stay on at the finish but I expect too late to catch the leaders, Rhubarb 7/2 won last time out over a longer distance and may be under-priced on the back of that win and I will be looking to lay it, Liberty Bay and Fossos two known pace setting types are my 5th and 4th top rated and will ensure there's a fast early pace, Astrophysics my 3rd top rated and Our Man In Havana my 2nd top rated will be trying to stay on strongly at the finish and could make the frame but i will be pinning my hopes on the chances of the top weighted CORONATION COTTAGE 8/1 leading from start to finish, it would just win on its best 2022 rating but if able to reproduce its best rating from Bath in 2020 it would win with a bit to spare.

This looks a dire race for a class 4 affair, I will look to lay Q Twenty Boy 4/1 who might be outclassed at this level, the early pace will most likely be set by Under Curfew but I doubt it will stay there unless they let it get away with setting a slow early pace and then try to steal it from the front, the rest are all closely rated on my figures apart from LIHOU 3/1 who has a rating from 2021 at Haydock that would see it winning this and will be the one I will have a small wager on.

A 7 runner race where 4 of them have been known to lead before, I have a couple in mind that I could lay but I think both will be a bit too big in price to be of value to lay, Pop Dancer 7/2 is my 3rd top rated but I did have to go back to 2020 to find this ones best rating but could go well if back to form but maybe not good enough to win this race, Symbol Of Hope 3/1 who is my 2nd top rated has the advantage that it recorded that rating this year over this course and distance but if the one i will look to back CORONATION COTTAGE 9/2 can reproduce its best rating it recorded over this course and distance last year it would win this race a shade cosily and it does have a good jockey booking as they have a 25% win ratio on the stables older horses.

LINGFIELD 12.40 

A nice looking class 3 race with 8 runners and 3 that like to lead, Outrage 9/1 may prefer further, Vandad 11/1 and Lucky Ava 3/1 might be outclassed and I will look to lay all 3 of them if they are of value to lay , the top weight Top Breeze could go well but may not be ideally drawn in stall 8 for a front runner and might get carried wide on the bend, my money will be riding on LIHOU 7/2 who is another front runner and from stall 5 it should be able to get either a good position or lead and it then should prove hard to catch.

LINGFIELD 2.55 Div I

Not the best sprint even for a class 6 race but with 2 known front runners it should be a true run race with Winnetka and Julie Johnston battling for control of the early pace, I will look to lay Hector Loza 9/2 who has recorded slow times on this surface at both Chelmsford and Kempton and I think its a better horse over a shorter distance plus the jockeys record is 1-42 which doesn't indicate it will be expected to win win this race, Come On Girl and The Cola Kid are my joint 3rd top rated so either could make the frame if they repeat their best so might be worth an each way punt if they are a double figure price but they might be battling for just the one place so it makes more sense to leave them alone, both of the 2 horses I will be backing in this race like to track the leaders, my top rated horse CAMACHESS 9/2 would normally be my sole bet in this race as it is my top rated and it recorded that rating here this year but its been 57 days since this stable last had a winner admittedly they have only sent out 6 horses in those 57 days so i might also back my 2nd top rated horse Nubough 9/2 more as a covering bet as its been 18 runners and 128 days since this stable last tasted success, so any stakes will be kept low.

LINGFIELD 3.25 Div II 

This looks the weaker of the two divisions with five 3yo’s in the race and just one known front runner, if Amasova 7/1 is a single figure price I would look to lay it as it seems much better when raced over a shorter trip plus the horse is still a maiden after 14 races while the trainer is 0-12 in the last fortnight and its been 13 runners since the stable last toasted a winner, Thaki 5/2, Alcazan 13/2 and Kodi Gold 9/1 could run well here and battle to make the frame but my money will be riding on the aforementioned front running CHAMPAGNE SUPANOVA 3/1 and if it does get to the front it should prove a very hard nut to crack and it looks to have been found a very good opportunity to follow up its win last time out.

I hope all 8 runners stand their ground as I am hoping to have an each way wager in this race, Fool Proof and Mals Oui Marlene have only poor recent form and I think they will be outsiders, I will be looking to lay Desert Lime 5/2 who hasn't any distance form to its name and races as though further would suit it better, Storm Melody is 4th top rated with Micks Spirit in 3rd top spot and this 3yo won last time out and could still improve but I will stick with the proven, I've got joint top rated horses in Smokey and SHAMSHON 10/1 and I am siding with the latter because its the only known front runner in the field so I am hoping its allowed a easy lead and then keep enough in reserve to repel any late challengers.

Only four runners with two of them being possible pacesetters, One Night Stand will I think be the outsider of the four, Mohareb is one that can front run and comes out 3rd best on my figures, if the two leaders go off too fast then Soldiers Minute could be the one to prosper but I will be hoping that FIZZY FEET 2/1 who has the stall one draw can get to the front and stay there till the finishing line.

Firstly I will be looking to lay Tone The Barone 4/1 who is forecast to be the second favourite in this race but I think this one is better on the Polytrack surface, Thegreatestshowman 5/1 might be outclassed in this race, Exalted Angel 11/10 is my 2nd top rated and could go well but I will be hoping another front runner in the shape of LIHOU 6/1 can set the pace to the race and lead all the way.

With 11 runners its the biggest sprint of the four but it is so poor I'm not sure how to bet or lay in this race, there is 3 known front runners in the race and maybe Surewecan will do best of the trio as it is my 3rd top rated but the jockey is 0-18 for the stable and the trainer only has a 5% win ratio at this course plus its 206 days since the stable last had a winner, First Verse comes out in 2nd top spot and this one usually stays on over this distance and maybe prefer a longer trip but the horse still hasn't won in 6 previous AW races and the jockey is 0-9 for the stable, top spot goes to Billy Dylan who, if its best speed figure is to be believed as it might now be looking a flukey time when it got towed along in a fast run race, would win this race more that a shade cosily and might be worth taking the risk but the horse has had 17 AW runs and has made the frame four times but hasn't won any of the 17 races, the trainer is 0-38 at this course(which has changed its surface so the past data might not be relied upon, and the jockey is 0-6 for the stable. This race might be best left alone but I might be tempted to back *BILLY DYLAN if its an each way price, maybe 7/1 isn't really an each way price as I was hoping for a *double figure price.

11:45 Lingfield Racing Tips (22nd December)

LINGFIELD 11.45 

It is only a class 6 race and to be honest it doesn't thrill me although there isn't much difference between my top 5 ratings, Aguerooo has a good time from 2019 but has been way below that level this year and I cant see it changing here, Captain Ryan has a time from this year that would make it my 2nd top rated on c/d 2020 only times but drops to joint 3rd best overall, The Lacemaker is another that hasn't shown much lately but it does have the stall 1 draw which is always a bonus and I would expect the horse will ridden to the fore in this race but has slow times over this c/d and its best came from Chelmsford, Dreamboat Annie 11/1 could be the one to set the pace despite being drawn in stall 11 and if allowed an uncontested lead it could go well and may even make the frame so maybe worth an each way punt, i will be putting my faith in SPREADSHEET 3/1 as this 3yo finished 4th in its last 2 races and beaten less than 2 lengths and the race before last was run at a fast pace and that makes it my top rated on 2020 c/d times and from stall 4 it ought to be able to get a good position from which to attack in the home straight.

Only 7 runners but 6 of them appear to like to lead so will they go off too fast I don't know but even if they do i doubt the other horse, Nigel Nott 10/3, can prosper and at the price I will lay it, Ornate 8/1 has the best draw but I am not convinced it is fast enough to lead in this race and then stall 1 can become a negative also the jockeys 1-19 doesn't inspire confidence so another i will look to lay if it remains a single figure price, of the other 5 any of them could win this race, Leodis Dream who is my 5th top rated has a poor looking jockey booking as he is 0-5 for the stable which is a little off-putting but the trainer has a 20% win ratio with their older horses, I've got joint 3rd top rated in Royal Birth and Watchable and both have good jockey bookings, Verne Castle is 2nd top rated and this one has good trainer stats but the jockey is 1-6 which isn't really enough to be certain if its a good booking or not, the in form 3lb claiming apprentice riding LIHOU 9/2 moves this one to top spot and if getting to the font could be hard to catch, it is a competitive race and stakes have to be reflect that fact.
