3:00 Lingfield Racing Tips (3rd March)

LINGFIELD 3.00

A field of 11 where just Cuban Breeze drawn in the widest stall is known as a front running type but this one might need the run for fitness and would need to improve time wise to win this race. Baldomero 7/2 may need further to show its best and I will look to lay it while Laheg 11/2 seems better on the Tapeta surface so maybe another one to lay. Jack's Point sits in 4th top spot and usually tries to stay on strongly nearing the finish, Counto Otto is 2nd top rated but its last 2 runs have been poor and the jockey is 0-29 when riding for this stable, TOLSTOY 6/1 is my 3rd rated and the trainer has a decent win ratio at this course and is another that will be running on late in this race TYGER BAY 15/2 also has good trainer stats and will also be staying on late in the proceedings but it does look a tricky race so stakes kept to a minimum.

I'm not sure if can find anything of value to lay in this race plus its a race where I may have to dutch 3 runners in trying to find the winner. Pockley is my 5th top rated just 1lb behind After John in 4th top spot, BALLYARE 17/2 comes out in 3rd top spot but it recorded its best rating on Tapeta at Wolverhampton where the bend means they don't go flat out all the way which might suit it better, ATHOLBLAIR BOY 14/1 is my 2nd top rated courtesy of the apprentice jockeys 7lb claim and she has a 1-6 ratio for the stable but I did have to go back to 2021 to find its best rating but may have encountered slow going in subsequent races on this surface and usually likes to track the leaders, SPARTAN FIGHTER 25/1 hasn't been in the best of form recently but in this race its the only known front running type and if allowed an easy lead could hold enough in reserve to repel any late challengers and the jockey does have a reasonable 16% win ratio when riding the stables older horses.

The 3 race of the day where there is only 1 known front running type and in this race its Mew's House but it would need to improve a good few spots time wise to hold on for the win, I expect it will be an outsider in this race but even then it wouldn't tempt me to back it to make the frame. I'm not keen on the chances of Kraken Power 4/1 in this race but I'm not sure I could put it forward to lay either, Ruggles a hold up type is only 1lb behind Nellie French who can be held up or track the leaders in 4th top spot, I've got joint 2nd top rated horses in Elzaal and Joshua R, the former usually races towards the rear or in midfield in its races before running on at the finish while the latter likes to track the leaders before staying on at the finish but my money will be riding on GUNNERSIDE 4/1 who also likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish and has been found a good opportunity to get back to winning ways in this race.

6:30 Newcastle Racing Tips (28th March)

NEWCASTLE 6.30

A nice looking class 4 race with 11 entries, I can see two known front running types in Outrage 8/1 and Faustus, the former could do enough from the front to make the frame and might be worth an each way interest but I will be looking to lay Faustus 4/1 as it might need this run for fitness, like it usually does after a break, plus the trainer has had 31 runners over the last 100 days without having a winner, I will also be looking to lay Phoenix Star 5/1 who may need further to show its best form and the stable hasn't had a winner for over a month now, Buniann 12/1 who form wise might be worth a small each way interest as its my 3rd top rated but its last 2 runs have been quite poor so I won't be backing it even to make the frame but never say never, my money will be riding on GLORIOUS RIO 14/1(EW) and at the price it has to be with an each way wager, I think its overpriced but mainly that could be due to the fact the stables last winner was 81 days ago but today's 7lb claiming apprentice jockey has a 25% win ratio on the stables older horses and his claim could swing things in its favour.

NEWCASTLE 7.30

The early pace in this race looks likely to come from Gowanbuster and/or Rose Bandit but I'm not sure this surface suits the latter so the former might be worth a small each way interest but it will need to bounce back to form as its recent runs have been quite poor, I can see three that I might lay if they are single figure prices at the off, Prospect 7/1 who might need further to show its best form and the trainer hasn't had a winner from 16 runners over the last 88 days, True Mason 11/2 may also require a longer distance to show its best form and its 37 runners and 138 days since this stable last tasted success, my 3rd lay is Privilege 15/2 who has been running in France so I'm not 100% sure how good the form is but it seems to run as though this trip might be a bit short for it and after a 4 month break it might need this run for fitness as its not won before when returning after a break but with this one I would wait until the off just in case they back it and if it is backed significantly then I wouldn't be laying it but I wouldn't back it either, as for the winner of this race I will be relying on ATHOLLBLAIR BOY 9/1 (EW) who has a course and distance rating from last year that would see it winning this race with a bit in hand but with the trainer not having a winner during the last 51 days I will not be betting too heavily in this class 5 race but a small each way bet could pay dividends.

1:35 Southwell Racing Tips (16th March)

SOUTHWELL 1.35

Only 7 runners but there is a couple of known front runners in the race, I will look to lay (Marwari) who has a good time from Newcastle but its 2 runs over this c/d haven't seen it go fast enough to register on my graphs, Gossip could attempt to lead but seems to set a slow pace, or maybe its the slow going here, True Hero is the other one that might lead and if getting an easy lead it could be dangerous but is only 3rd best on my figures, Qaaraat comes out 2nd best but from its 10 runs over this c/d it has only won twice but has been placed in the other 8 races so would be a nice each way bet but is forecast to be the favourite so I will side with ARZAAK 8/1 who is top rated using its best 2020 time and could win a shade cosily if able to reproduce that figure, I will also have a covering bet on True Hero just in case it gets an easy lead and then hold on to repel any challengers.

Arzaak 9/1 4th -1pt

Lay bet Marwari +1pt

SOUTHWELL 2.45

This is a class 4 race so it should be quite good but i have a feeling there's a few runners that are having a run in preparation for when the turf season kicks into gear so any stakes will be kept on the low side, Lord Oberon looked good when winning last time out and that time would be good enough for 2nd top spot so I will expect it to run well here and I also expect it will be he favourite to win the race, I will go with what looks the value call and back ZYLAN 8/1 who has been known to lead before and if getting to the front from stall 9 it could prove hard to catch and hopefully it will be an each price and the 3lb claiming apprentice has a 16% win ratio for the stable.

Zylan 12/1 5th -2pts

SOUTHWELL 3.55

This is a low class stakes race which seems to be new approach to let low grade horses have a chance of winning and most of the races are quite dire and if looking for recent 2020/21 c/d form there is virtually nothing to work with the only exception being RED STRIPES 7/1 this natural front running horse seems to have very little if any opposition for the lead, unless something changes its usual racing tactics, yes it is a 9 year old and certainly isn't as good as it once was but one day it will win another race by leading all the way and maybe that day will be in this race.

NEWCASTLE 7.45

This looks a good race for a class 5 affair with 11 runners but only one known front runner, I will look to lay (Zulu Zander 9/1) as long as it stays a single figure price, who seems better over five furlongs, Al Suil Elle may need further to show its best so this race might not be run to suit it, I wouldn't try to put anyone off backing the top weight Save The Spirit, Devils Angel does well at this c/d winning twice and placed twice from just 5 runs but would need to improve time wise to win this race, Good Night Mr Tom and Hart Stopper may need the run for fitness, I think that Kilconquar might be outclassed at this level, the same might be apply to to the bottom weight ABSOLUTE DREAM 13/2 but this one is the only known front runner and could dominate the race from the front and may take some catching but I do think that ATHOLLBLAIR BOY 6/1 could catch it as its only rated 1lb below it on recent c/d form but has a time from 2019 that would see it catching it quite cosily but I will be backing them both to cover both angles.

1:35 Chelmsford Racing Tips & Lay Bets (11th February)

CHELMSFORD 1.35

I am not a fan of betting in stakes races they are all carrying the same weight apart from any apprentices allowances and there are only 5lbs between top and bottom on their official handicap rating. I have got 3 that I will look to lay (Watheer + Ask The Guru + Caso Do Lago) Krazy Paving won last time out but it was a slow run affair and this may be much harder for it but it is in good form, Wild Flower has the plum stall 1 draw and that's helpful for a front-running sort and it is my joint 3rd top-rated along with Ask The Guru but this one might be pushed to stay the distance with what looks likely to be a fast early pace, Alba Del Sole has poor jockey stats which is off-putting, I will split my stake between INDIAN AFFAIR 4/1 and POPPY MAY 9/2 who have both been known to lead and if getting to the front either could win the race and my stakes will be kept to a lowish level in this lowish level race.

Indian Affair 4/1 3rd

CHELMSFORD 3.45

Only 6 runners and just (Lorna Cole) who I could lay, the next three, Green Door, Look Surprised and It Must Be Faith, are all closely rated, Green Door a frontrunner has the plum draw but one of my selections MOVEONUP 9/2 is the other likely pacesetter and is in stall 2 and if getting to the front could prove hard to catch but Tone The Barone 1/1 won nicely last time out and could be an improving sort and there is very little between them on times so normally I would back them both but after seeing the betting I will go with just one tip as it is my top rated and much better value than the favourite.

Moveonup 6/1 2nd

Lay bets: Lorna Cole (+1pt)

NEWCASTLE 5.50

This is a nice looking class 4 race but there isn't a natural known frontrunning type amongst them, I will be laying (Barrington + Lady Of Aran) then there's Mia Mento and Jungle Speed who hasn't raced on the AW before and the latter may not take to this surface but not sure I can actually lay it, the bottom weight Epeius is well weighted on its best time but they are usually in a lower class race than this one, Lucky Lodge is another capable of going well but again usually in class 5 races, my money will be riding on ATHOLLBLAIR BOY 6/1 who usually likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly so if the early pace is slow it could take it up earlier than planned and then prove the stronger and the apprentice jockey does have a 16% win ratio on this stables older horses on the AW.

2:40 Chelmsford Racing Tips & Lay Bet (6th February)

CHELMSFORD 2.40

A nice looking class 3 sprint where I can find a couple to lay, (Prince of Rome + Commander Han) the topweight Gamgoom could be a hidden danger in the race the way it ran on strongly over the 5 furlong trip at this course, there's a few with decent win and place ratios, Mohareb having the best with 3 wins and 4 places from 7 AW rcaces and it could make the frame again here, Rock On Baileys, Fizzy Feet, Gracious John and With Caution could also be competing to make the frame, my money will be riding on STORM OVER 4/1 who won last time out and has been found a good opportunity to follow up here and has good trainer/jockey stats which is always a positive.

Storm Over 4/1 4th

Lay bets: Prince Of Rome (+1pt) Commander Han (+1pt)

CHELMSFORD 3.50

Another class 3 race where I hope all 8 entrants take part, I've found 3 that I will look to lay here (Alsvinder + Typhoon Ten + Thegreatestshowman) the early pace could be set by Pink Flamingo and maybe Alsvinder but will be setting the race up for a finishing type, King Robert my 4th top-rated and Shamshon in 3rd spot will both be trying to stay on strongly at the finish, my 2nd top-rated Verne Castle is on a losing run of 11 races which is off-putting and I'm not sure the jockey is a positive booking, I will be taking a bit of a chance on LANCELOT DU LAC 4/1 who I have to admit hasn't been in the best form and the price is shorter than I was expecting but I'm hoping its 4th place finish last time out is a pointer to it coming back to form and apprentice booked to take the ride has a good 20% win ratio on the stables older horse on AW tracks.

Lancelot Du Lac 4/1 3rd
Lay bets: Alsvinder (+1pt) Typhoon Ten (+1pt) Thegreatestshowman (+1pt)

NEWCASTLE 6.30

A class 4 affair where I can find 2 horses to lay (Moon Trouble + Louis Treize) and I would have to dutch the remaining 4 runners who all have some chance of winning, Mythical Spirit hasn't any form on this surface to work with but it could be staying on strongly here and does have good trainer/jockey stats, the other 3 are my top 3 ratings but none have positive pointers looking at their trainers and jockeys so I cannot narrow it down any lower than the possible four.

Lay bets: Moon Trouble (+1pt) Louis Treize (+1pt)

Total +2pts

NEWCASTLE 7.00

Another class 4 race but only 7 runners to look at but I would look to lay (National Anthem + *Kamra + Airwaves + Double Up) the bottom weight Calin's Lad has good trainer/jockey stats and should be trying to stay on strongly at the finish, Dandys Gold is making its debut in England but wasn't in good form in its last few runs in Ireland so I'm not sure what to expect but hope it doesn't spring back to form in this race, which leaves me with the one I will be backing, the topweight ATHOLLBLAIR BOY 7/2 is my top rated and it will be another staying on strongly at the finish.

3:10 Newcastle Racing Tips (22nd October)

NEWCASTLE 3.10

Quite a nice looking class 2 race with a full house of 14 runners BUT and it is a big BUTT there isn't any known frontrunner in the race and with no bends the draw doesn't help me work out what might happen, Equiano Springs my 4th top-rated usually stays on at the finish but if there's not a fast early pace it might get outpaced when they kick for home and then not be able to get near them, Paddy Power likes to track the leaders and comes out 3rd best in 2nd top spot I've got Staxton who can be held up or track the leaders, my stakes certainly won't be at full tilt but I will be backing ATHOLLBLAIR BOY 6/1 who usually likes to track the pacesetters and the apprentice jockeys 5lb claim can swing things in this one's favour.

Athollblair Boy 10/1 Unp

NEWCASTLE 5.20

There's a few lightly raced sorts in this race which always makes analysis tricky and makes sure my bets are kept in check, Swiss Connection could be the one to set the pace in this race drawn in stall 14 so nothing should get in its way and if this 3yo is allowed an easy lead it could do enough to make the frame, Arnold is well-weighted and my 3rd top-rated and it likes to track the leaders, BE PROUD 5/1 is my 2nd top-rated but the booked jockey has a 19% win ratio for this stable so I'm thinking that they are expecting it to run well here but I do have TATHMEEN 10/1 rated higher and this one usually stays on at the finish of its races and I will be splitting my stake between the 2 selections.

Tathmeen 10/1 1st + EX £38.40
Be Proud 13/2

KEMPTON 7.30

With a couple of known front runners it should be a true run race especially when my 3rd top-rated on this years figures SPARKALOT 5/1 is one of the potential pacesetters but it does have a time from 2018 that would see it win this race quite cosily and has only run twice so far this year so maybe ready now run to its best again, the 3yo Total Commitment comes out 2nd best and likes to track the leaders so could make the frame, I've got another 3yo as my top rated and REVOLUTIONISE 9/2 is a good few spots clear in recent times and could still be able to improve, the trainer and jockey stats are both over 20% win ratios so they expect it go well, I have to back them both but if I knew the front running Sparkalot was fit enough to do itself justice then it would be my sole selection.

Revolutionis 9/2 3rd
Sparkalot 5/1 6th
