3:00 Lingfield Racing Tips (3rd March)

LINGFIELD 3.00

A field of 11 where just Cuban Breeze drawn in the widest stall is known as a front running type but this one might need the run for fitness and would need to improve time wise to win this race. Baldomero 7/2 may need further to show its best and I will look to lay it while Laheg 11/2 seems better on the Tapeta surface so maybe another one to lay. Jack's Point sits in 4th top spot and usually tries to stay on strongly nearing the finish, Counto Otto is 2nd top rated but its last 2 runs have been poor and the jockey is 0-29 when riding for this stable, TOLSTOY 6/1 is my 3rd rated and the trainer has a decent win ratio at this course and is another that will be running on late in this race TYGER BAY 15/2 also has good trainer stats and will also be staying on late in the proceedings but it does look a tricky race so stakes kept to a minimum.

I'm not sure if can find anything of value to lay in this race plus its a race where I may have to dutch 3 runners in trying to find the winner. Pockley is my 5th top rated just 1lb behind After John in 4th top spot, BALLYARE 17/2 comes out in 3rd top spot but it recorded its best rating on Tapeta at Wolverhampton where the bend means they don't go flat out all the way which might suit it better, ATHOLBLAIR BOY 14/1 is my 2nd top rated courtesy of the apprentice jockeys 7lb claim and she has a 1-6 ratio for the stable but I did have to go back to 2021 to find its best rating but may have encountered slow going in subsequent races on this surface and usually likes to track the leaders, SPARTAN FIGHTER 25/1 hasn't been in the best of form recently but in this race its the only known front running type and if allowed an easy lead could hold enough in reserve to repel any late challengers and the jockey does have a reasonable 16% win ratio when riding the stables older horses.

The 3 race of the day where there is only 1 known front running type and in this race its Mew's House but it would need to improve a good few spots time wise to hold on for the win, I expect it will be an outsider in this race but even then it wouldn't tempt me to back it to make the frame. I'm not keen on the chances of Kraken Power 4/1 in this race but I'm not sure I could put it forward to lay either, Ruggles a hold up type is only 1lb behind Nellie French who can be held up or track the leaders in 4th top spot, I've got joint 2nd top rated horses in Elzaal and Joshua R, the former usually races towards the rear or in midfield in its races before running on at the finish while the latter likes to track the leaders before staying on at the finish but my money will be riding on GUNNERSIDE 4/1 who also likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish and has been found a good opportunity to get back to winning ways in this race.

3:50 Lingfield Racing Tips (3rd February)

LINGFIELD 3.50

A field of 12 runners with 2 and possibly 3 that could set the pace although I think Our Man In Havana is only likely to lead if nothing else wants to set the pace but I doubt it will need to do that here and Viewfromthestars another that has led before but neither of them are in my top 4 ratings so would most likely to struggle to win the race even if they do lead. Macon Belle 6/1 may struggle to stay the distance with a fast early pace and it finished 2nd in a relatively slow run affair so may have been flattered by that result, San Juan may also prefer a longer trip and would need to improve time wise to win here. Lothian is my 4th top rated and can track the leaders or be held up for a late run but would need others to falter to win this race. Inaam usually stays on at this distance and could run into a place nearing the finish, Iesha is my 2nd top rated but hasn't been in good form lately so I will be hoping that CREEK HARBOUR 16/1 (EW) can set the pace to this race and if getting to the front it could prove hard to peg back if on a going day but I don't think its a race to be betting heavily in but if an each way price it might be worth a punt.

Creek Harbour 16/1 7th -2pt

NEWCASTLE 6.45

A field of 9 with just 1 known front running type, the figures for this race are a bit of a mixed lot and either its going to be a very competitive affair or something could win cosily, I'm not sure I could lay anything with confidence, Gannon Glory my 5th top rated, Pockley my 4th top rated and After John in 3rd top spot have the best recent ratings but there is only 2lbs between them so that could be the competitive part, Atholblair Boy is 2nd top rated but that's using a 2021 rating and its win 2 runs ago resulted in a slow time so that doesn't fill me with confidence but the top weight SPARTAN FIGHTER 33/1 is the likely pacesetter and if getting it right from the front could prove hard to catch although its also not been in great form lately but the apprentice jockey has a 28% win ratio when riding the stables older horses so lets hope that's a good pointer here.

NEWCASTLE 7.15 Div I

A field of 11 with just 1 known front running type, everything apart from the top 2 in the handicap are forecast to be double figure prices and I've only got 2 horses with recordable times, I couldn't back or lay Gowanbuster who finished 2nd last time out in a possibly slow run race or just slow going on that day, Stallone is my 2nd top rated and can track the leaders or be held up for a late run but my money will be riding on the one that I hope can lead all the way with the make-up of this race and TURBO COMMAND 8/1 has led all the way before and a repeat would be enough to win this race and if an each way price then all the better.

Turbo Command 14/1 9th -1pt

NEWCASTLE 7.45 Div II

A field of 11 for this class 6 2nd division, looking at the bottom 6 in the handicap I expect them all to be double figure prices and I would lay anything that's not that big. Jem's Bond has been running well but either the going was riding slow on both of its last 2 runs or they were slow run races, its not enough for me to confidently lay it but I sure couldn't back it either. Ustath could set the pace to the race and is my 4th top rated so could possibly do enough to make the frame if others falter, Cheese The One is in 3rd top spot and is usually held up for a late run, while Giselles Izzy likes to attack from midfield but I've got TATHMEEN 6/1 as my top rated and if able to reproduce its best Southwell rating here it ought to get back to winning ways but it has only produced a slow time over this course and distance before so my stake will be kept low.

Tathmeen 13/2 6th -1pt

NEWCASTLE 8.15

A field of 9 runners with no known front running types which is always a pain for analysis, Kraken Power 4/1 may need further or a different surface maybe even both so may be worth laying but only to a small stake with the pace problem. Gunnerside is 4th top. Rose Bandit in 3rd top spot but this one is in good form winning last time out, Spanish Angel also won last time out but that was a slow time race and if there isn't a good early gallop it could follow up here as could my 3rd top rated, in fact it gives more horses a chance of winning but I will be hoping that YAAHOBBY 10/1 can get back to winning ways it races as though further might suit it better so will I expect make sure the pace is fairly fast and it has the same trainer/jockey stats as the 6.45 race, so hopefully at least one of them will win.

3:28 Newcastle Racing Tips (10th December)

NEWCASTLE 3.28

A field of 12 for this class 5 sprint with 4 of them having been known to lead before but I can find a negative against each one of that quartet so they will most likely set the race up for something coming from off the pace. Blazing Son 10/3 has won its last 2 races in class 6 and this step up in class might be too much for it and I would look to lay it, I also think Motawaazy 6/1 might have been flattered with its 2nd place finish last time out on this surface at Southwell but it was a comparatively slow run race. Gowanlad is capable of winning this race but usually gives an indication when its ready to win a race but has been in poor form lately. As for the winner I think the answer will be dutching 3 runners, ONE MORE DREAM 9/2 who comes out top rated using course and distance times and for this class of race, KAPONO 14/1 would need to improve on its best course and distance races but is top rated of those that have run at Southwell in the last year, the top weighted SPARTAN FIGHTER 33/1 hasn't shown much at all lately but is dropped in class to run in this race plus its a horse that can suddenly spring back into form without prior warning and if I had to narrow it down and its an each way price then it would be the one I would back but its a strange looking race so any stakes will be kept relatively low.

Abandoned due to weather

WOLVERHAMPTON 4.50

A field of 10 for this class 4 sprint with once again 4 of them having been known to lead before and this race ought to be won from the front with 3 of the likely pacemakers being in my top 5 ratings. Pocket The Profit a hold up type, sits outside my top 5 ratings so may not be capable of picking up the leaders here and might have been flattered when its finished 2nd last time out in a relatively slow run race so might be worth laying. Intervention my joint 5th top rated and Rattling my 2nd top rated are both front running types so they could do enough to make the frame, Abbey Heights who is my 3rd top rated could be the one to prosper if the front runners battle too hard for early supremacy and fade inside the final furlong but I will be hoping that the 3yo AHLAWI 7/1 who won last time can either lead or at least be up there with the leaders and then prove the stronger nearing the finish and might still be able to improve with age and experience and has been found a decent opportunity here to follow up that lat win.

NEWCASTLE 5.00

A full house of 14 for this class 6 dash where the early pace could be set by Whiteandblue 9/2 but I don't think it will hold on for the win but could possibly make the frame if allowed an easy lead, I don't think anything else will be of value to lay. Yaahobby 13/2 is my joint 4th top rated and will be trying to stay on at the finish but maybe too late for the win with Tantastic 14/1 is the other 4th top rated. I've also got joint 2nd top rated horses in Sugar Baby 4/1 who usually races in midfield and then try to stay on at the finish and Joshua R 14/1 who likes to track the leaders and they could make the frame but my money will be riding BASHOLO 33/1 (EW) who also likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger nearing the finish.

6:15 Newcastle Racing Tips (15th November)

NEWCASTLE 6.15

A class 5 dash with 11 runners and 3 known front running types so it should be a true run affair. Wrenthorpe 5/1 has been known to lead but needs to improve a good few spots to win this race and will be worth a small lay at the price, Love Trophy Power 8/1 may need further to show its best form and may not catch the leaders in time for the win so maybe worth a small lay if a single figure price near the off time. Never Dark 6/1 might do best of the front running trio and could do enough to at least make the frame as its my 3rd top rated, Spanish Angel 12/1 is my top rated using its best rating from 2021 over this course and distance but hasn't managed a rating high enough to register on my figures this year so my money will be riding on GLORIOUS RIO 15/1 who likes to track the leaders and i think those drawn high have a slight advantage at this course so stall 11 should be fine.

NEWCASTLE 7.45

I am never a fan of amateur jockey races, this race has 14 runners but only one known front running type but very often horses change their tactics in these races but being on a straight course then it hopefully shouldn't be too bad. I'm not sure if there will be anything of value to lay but maybe a small lay on Eligible 7/2 who races as though further might suit it better. Rory 8/1 might struggle to stay the distance with a fast early pace and will be a lay if its a single figure price at the off. The 3yo Wee Fat Mac has a rating that would put it in the mix but has poorish trainer/jockey stats but I couldn't lay it either, Global Apollo is another that could go well if its Southwell rating is to be believed but only recorded a slow time over this course and distance. DANDY'S GOLD 20/1 (EW) is my top rated using a 2021 course and distance rating but hasn't been in good form recently but it might be worth a small each way bet just in case it bounces back to form but for my main bet I will be backing SPARTAN FIGHTER 40/1 (EW) who is the one i hope will set the pace to the race and if able to reproduce its best rating from 2021 it would win this race and will have to be an each way bet at the price.

7:00 Southwell Racing Tips (15th March)

SOUTHWELL 7.00

A typical class 6 sprint over 5 furlongs with just 2 known front running types amongst the 12 runners, firstly I will look to lay Lesha 4/1 who seems a better prospect when racing on the Polytrack surface anything else that I could lay I expect will be double figure prices and represent no value to lay, as for the winner Equally Fast hasn't shown much time wise since 2020 but being a possible pacesetter it could do enough to make the frame although I doubt it can win this race so maybe worth looking to lay if a single figure price nearing the off, Raabeh would have a good chance if able to reproduce its best time from 2020 but last years best figure was way below that level and its time when winning over this c/d 2 runs ago was in a relatively slow run race and it might not pick up the leaders in this race, Scale Force comes from the Gay Kellaway stable and is my top rated using its time recorded at Wolverhampton this year and usually stays on strongly over this distance but it has a stablemate running, MOVEONUP who is the other front running type in the race and comes out top rated using my recent c/d speed figures which it recorded when winning from the front 2 runs ago and missed the kick last time out so that can be forgiven and if leading here it could prove hard to catch but I might have a smaller covering bet on its stablemate just in case that's the one that's trying out or the two of them.

NEWCASTLE 7.45

A 6 runner race, Badri might need this run for fitness after being off for over 530 days, Ben Macdul might find the distance too far with a fast early pace which looks likely here, Jungle Speed one of the 2 known front running types in this race might prefer the Polytrack surface and might be outclassed at this class 4 level and the same applies to Ginato who has been running well but is put up in class here without winning, I think that Ghathanfar 9/2 could be the one to do for the forecast as its usually stays on strongly at the finish but I doubt it will catch up with the one that I think will set the pace to this race and I can see SPARTAN FIGHTER 2/1 completing its hat trick.

SOUTHWELL 8.30

Quite a competitive class 5 race with 12 runners and 2 known front running types, I always mention front running types because without them you are not guaranteed a strong early gallop and then it becomes a 2 furlong dash and anything can happen, Igotatext 6/1 is one of the possible pacesetters but I don't think this surface sees it at its best and so much so I will look to lay it, I will also look to lay Sarah's Verse 9/1 and Capla Spirit 6/1 as they both look better over shorter distances, then the other way round I could look to lay Burj Malinka as it might prefer a longer distance to show its best that's if they are single figure prices, Steelriver 12/1 is always capable of running well but has disappointed on its last 3 runs but is top rated on just recent c/d times but that is from the very limited amount of data I had to work with, Tributo 12/1 could be the one to set the pace to the race and then it could do enough to make the frame, Vivency 20/1 and Water Of Leith 5/1 both have ratings that could see them be there at the business end of this race but my money will be riding on BURROW'S SEESIDE 5/1 who has made the frame in all four of its races this year and has a chance here to go even better and get back to winning ways.

LINGFIELD 2.45

There's 3 known front runners in this race, Swiss Pride 6/1 is one of them and is capable of recording a high speed figure but all in lower class races so maybe not up to winning this race, I'm not sure what to expect from Twilight Heir 12/1 and I'm doubtful that Impeach 5/1 can lead all the way for the win while Night On Earth 10/1 may struggle to stay the distance with a fast early pace so I will be laying it if of value, as for the winner I will probably have a small covering bet on Jacks Point 9/2 who ran well last time when finishing 2nd and could possibly go one better here but my main bet will be riding on COUNT OTTO 13/2 who at first glance looks out of form but did record a good time the time before last over this course and distance and the jockey has a decent strike-rate for the trainer.

I hope all 8 runners take part and the pace will most likely be set by Khabib 11/2 who won last time out and holds Tathmeen 9/1 on that run but both of them might be outclassed at this level and time wise the winner would need to improve a few spots and might be worth laying if a shortish price but it is a 4yo who could be improving my lay stake will be kept low, Gowanlad 3/1 might be better racing over further and the jockey is 1-19 for the stable it might be another one to lay, as for the winner I'm hoping that GLORIOUS RIO 14/1 (EW) who is housed in stall 8 next to the probable pacesetter so could get a good tow into the race before staying on the stronger at the finish and the jockeys 29% win ratio on the stables older horses is hopefully a good pointer and at the odds it has to be an each way wager.

Not a race to get too excited about but the early pace could be set by Ustath but it hasn't been in good form lately, it would be a surprise if those in the bottom four in the handicap were to win this race, Million Reasons 5/2 has been in cracking form but it was either slow going or a slow run race when it won over c/d last time out and it should go well again here but I expect it will be fairly short in the market, I will take a bit of a punt in this race on DUE A WIN 13/2 who has been placed in 4 of its 8 AW races but is still a maiden after 11 races in total and can find this distance a bit too far if there's a fast early pace which might not happen here so it could have a chance to get off the market in this race.

Once again I hope all 8 runners take part in case I find an each way bet, I'm not sure this is the best surface for the front running Nigel Nott 8/1 and would lay it if of value to do so, Ghatnanfar 15/2 might need this run for fitness so another one to lay, I actually think the early pace will be set by SPARTAN FIGHTER 3/1 who I tipped up last time out when it won priced at a ten to one, the apprentice jockey does well riding for the stable and it could lead all the way again here but I cannot let SHALLOW HAL 11/2 run without having a bet on this one as well it usually tracks the leaders and then stays on strongly at the finish and the jockey has a 29% win ratio on the stables older horses and could be the one to prosper if the leader/s fade in the closing stages.

6:30 Newcastle Racing Tips (21st February)

NEWCASTLE 6.30

QUEEN OF BURGUNDY may need further to show its best and time wise its got a bit to find but I doubt it will be of value to lay.

KATHEEFA has been in poor form lately but does come out joint 3rd top rated using a 2020 speed figure but I suspect it will be an outsider if not then a lay.

*LINCOLN GAMBLE 4/1 hasn't done a recordable time on any of the 3 courses that have this Tapeta surface and may need a longer distance to show its best, so one i will look to have a one point lay on.

I KNOW HOW recorded its best time in 2019 and its times since then have been a lot lower and one I will look to lay if of value to do so.

STORM OVER is one of the three front running types in this race and also my top rated using its best time from 2021 and did a decent time at Southwell best of the 4 that have run there.

PURPLE POWER is another that has been known to lead but has never run on this surface before and might need a longer distance so might not be quite quick enough to get to the front.

WON LOVE 4/1 the 3rd of the front running types but this one sets a slow pace when it leads which it wont be allowed to do in this race so one to lay.

PADDY POWER comes out as my second top rated using a 2019 rating and and co third best using a 2021 rating so could make the frame.

MILLION REASONS 7/1 hasn't any form over this distance on this surface and won last time out in a slow run race at Lingfield so may need further and maybe another one to lay.

WESTERN MUSIC 4/1 is another that looks to want a longer distance, has a slow time from both Wolverhampton and Southwell where it won last time out and one I will look to lay.

SUMMARY: In theory I could look to lay seven of the ten runners for various reasons and the betting will show which ones finally make my lay list, Katheefa comes out joining 3rd top rated using a 2020 rating so could possibly make the frame but its not been in form recently so maybe not strong enough positives to even back each way but never say never with this one, Paddy Power 16/1 is my 2nd top rated and usually stays on at the finish over this distance and may need further to show its best but an each way bet could pay dividends as it could run on enough to make the frame and might be even be worth doing for the forecast along with the one i will be backing, STORM OVER 40/1 (EW) is my top rated using a 2021 rating and although at first glance it doesn't look to be in good form recently it did record the best time of those that have run at Southwell on their new Tapeta surface so I am hoping it can lead all the way in this race, the stables poor recent form does temper my confidence and hence my stakes but if its a double figure price as forecast in the early tissue prices then it will be an each way wager.

TRIGGERED a lot of its form was in higher class races but has ran twice at this class 5 level where it ran well in defeat so it could go well again here but the jockey is 0-4 for the stable while its 57 runners and 43 days since the stables last winner, its my second top rated using c/d speed figures and top rated of those that have run at Southwell on this surface.

SPARTAN FIGHTER is one of two known front runners in this race and is my top rated using a course and distance speed figure it recorded last year, its another that has been dropped in class and could possibly lead all the way.

KRATOS has had two previous course and distance races and neither times has it done a recorded speed figure, it only comes out 3rd top using a Southwell rating and would need to improve to win this race and its with a more than capable stable but maybe worth laying.

CARIBBEAN SUNSET has had 1 previous course and distance race which resulted in a slow time therefore no recorded rating, its best time from Lingfiled wouldn't be good enough to win this race and another i would look to lay if of value to do so.

JUNGLE SPEED is the other known front running type but time wise, using its best rating which was recorded in 2020, it would need to improve to win this race, and its best rating from 2021 was a bit below its previous years best.

BURROWS SEESIDE usually races in midfield before trying to stay on resolutely nearing the finish and comes out second best on my own unique speed figures so could go well enough to make the frame but I doubt in will be an each way price.

ATHOLLBLAIR BOY this nine year old seems to be on the decline as i had to go back to 2019 to find its best speed figure and even that rating wouldn't be enough to win this race and its best rating from 2021 was a good few spots below its best rating.

MARSELAN is making it debut here on an AW course, its not run over this distance before but all its turf form points to it wanting a longer distance so a lay if of value to do so, which I doubt.

SUMMARY: The betting will decide which horses I lay in this race but the candidates are, Kratos, Caribbean Sunset and Athollblair Boy while two others possibles, Marselan and Jungle Speed look likely to be double figure prices, when looking at the betting near the off time, Burrows Seeside is my 2nd top rated and could run into a place but I'm not sure it will be an each way price, the top weight Triggered 5/2 could go well and might have been with a bet if its trainer/jockey stats hadn't been negative, so I am hoping that SPARTAN FIGHTER 14/1 can lead and set the pace to the race and could then be hard to catch and it is also dropped in class and looks to have been found a good chance to get back to winning ways here.

NEWCASTLE 4.45

This looks a good race for a class 5 affair WITH a full complement of 14 runners with just one known front runner amongst them, firstly there isn't any horse I could put forward as a lay because everything I have a negative against are forecast to be a double figure price so don't represent any value, before looking at any apprentices claim there is only 5lbs between my top five ratings, Chookie Dunedin 14/1 starts off as my 5th top rated but the apprentices 3lb claim moves it up to 3rd top spot but this one hasn't been in good form recently but could possibly be worth an each way interest, Burrows Seeside 6/1 and Gowanlad 6/1 are my joint 3rd top rated before being relegated into joint 4th top spot, Hart Stopper 11/2 starts off as my top rated and the apprentices 5lb claim would move it further clear but the jockey is 0-3 on the stables older horses and has only ridden one previous winner for the stable and may need this run for fitness after about 6 months off, my money will be riding on SPARTAN FIGHTER 6/1 who is the one I think will set the pace to the race and is well drawn in stall 12 to do just that and has been found a good chance to follow up its win last time out and the apprentice jockey has a decent 15% win ratio on the stables older horses.

NEWCASTLE 5.45

This class 3 race looks very very tricky, 7 of the 13 runners have been known to lead before so it could end up being a frantic early pace and I think a lot of the field will struggle to get involved and the leaders will be hard to peg back, I will look to lay Tommy De Vit (now a non-runner) who has pieces of form that look good but both of its wins came in relatively slow run races and that wont happen here, both Giogiobbo and Tathmeen are capable of producing a good speed figure but the former usually does so in lower class races and the both have been in poor form for quite a while now, the rest I have negatives against are forecast to be double figure prices so will be left alone, I will be backing two horses in this race and i am hoping they will both be each way prices, MOHAREB 16/1 (EW) is a front running type and stall 10 should be a bonus although I have been looking at a 2020 rating and hasn't been quite as good so far this year, the other is KIND REVIEW 14/1 (EW) who is drawn in stall 8 but this one hasn't been in good form lately but it did record its top rating earlier this year and if coming back to form it would have every chance of winning this race from the front so i will be going with two each way wagers in this race.

I would normally say something about each individual horse when there's only one sprint I'm interested in for the day but there are quite a few in this race that I have nothing to say about them apart from the obvious to the eye so there's no point, I will look to lay Run This Way 15/2 who I think may need further to show its best and is forecast to be the favourite and I will lay it if its a single figure price, I could also add East Street Revue 13/2 to the lay list if its a single figure price as it hasn't made the frame in any of its previous six attempts on the All-Weather tracks but it did record a time back in 2019 that would make it my 3rd top rated but may have got towed along in a fast run race that day and may have been flattered, so I'm hoping the tissue prices are correct and I can lay it, Another Angel 5/1 comes out 3rd best on my figures using just AW times but that time was recorded on this Tapeta surface but it was at Wolverhampton but the trainer has a 29% win ratio with their older horses here at Newcastle although a top jockey is 0-4 for the stable so could go well but isn't an each way price but the trainer and jockey stats are a little bit mystifying, Gowandlad comes out 2nd best on my figures using a time from much much earlier this year and hasn't shown much in its last 2 runs on the AW surfaces and looks to be a big price, sitting on top of my list is SPARTAN FIGHTER 9/1 using a time it recorded in January over this course and distance and it equalled that time when finishing 3rd last time out and a repeat would be good enough for victory and it could be the one to set the pace to the race and ought to prove hard to catch if getting the pace right.

8:30 Newcastle Racing Tips (12th October)

NEWCASTLE 8.30

JORDAN ELECTRICS is one of two in this race that have been known to lead but this one has never run on an artificial surface before and would need to improve on its turf speed figures to win this race.

DANDYS GOLD has won three times on an artificial surface from nineteen races and made the frame six times so could go well but time wise I doubt it can win this race but I expect it wont be fancied in the betting.

MUTANAASEQ has not won on an All-Weather track in five attempts but is one that usually runs to its best when I has ideal conditions but maybe needs to drop down a little to get back to winning ways.

CAPTAIN VALLO a 3yo who has had one run over this course and distance which resulted in a slow time, its best figure on turf wouldn't be good enough to make my top four and a lay in my opinion if a single figure price.

GOWANLAD has only produced slow times so far this year while its best time from 2020 would still leave it a good few spots below whats required to win this race, I doubt it will a single figure price but if it is then I will look to lay it.

BILLIAN this 3yo has shown very little indeed in any of its races so far and I cannot see any reason why that should change in this race but its price will reflect that fact.

LADY CELIA this ones times are relatively slow but that is mainly due to the fact that its a much better horse over the five furlong distance and I would look to lay it if its a single figure price.

SPARTAN FIGHTER is the 2nd of the known front running types in this race and is my top rated on just 2021 course and distance times so it feasibly lead all the way in this race and the trainer does quite well in apprentice jockey races.

MERRY SECRET a 3yo who hasn't any form over this course and distance and its best time from Wolverhampton, the same surface, would leave it with a good few spots to improve to be the winner of this race.

ROYAL ADVICE a 3yo who’s form has been quite poor in its recent runs but a time it recorded earlier this year would leave it just outside my top 3 ratings so will need to improve to win this race but like a few in this race it could go well.

BURROWS SEESIDE has a time from 2020 that would make it very competitive but hasn't shown much time wise so far this year but this is its first run over this course and distance for this year so could go well.

DAN DE LIGHT this 3yo has only shown poor form so far and it has looked a little better over a shorter distance so not for me and one I will expect to be a double figure price.

SINGE ANGLAIS hasn't any form over this distance on the All-Weather tracks, it won last time out on turf in a fast time and if able to reproduce that level on this surface it could do enough to win but that is a gamble and I doubt it will be of value to take that chance.

THE MOUSEN CHAMP 3yo who is held by number 10 and is still a maiden after 10 races but has made the frame four times and could possibly do so again here if others falter but will be an outsider in this race.

SUMMARY With 11 of the 14 runners being three or four year olds one of them could improve without prior warning but I'm just hoping that doesn't happen in this race, I might add something to lay in this race once I have seen the betting and there is a few that could be laid if of any value to do so,I hope that one of the four year olds SPARTAN FIGHTER 12/1 (EW) can get away smartly from the stalls and then lead all the way but at the price it has to be an each way bet.

2:50 Newcastle Racing Tips (2nd April)

NEWCASTLE 2.50

A 9 runner class 4 race with 2 known front runners and i think this race could well be won from the front, I will look to lay (Treble Treble 7/1 +Spanish Angel) if they are in single figure prices, I've only got 1lb between my 3rd to 5th top rated and Devils Angel and Dandys Gold who are joint 3rd top rated could fight it out to make the frame, SPARTAN FIGHTER 18/1 who has won twice over this c/d is my top rated and will most likely attempt to lead all the way but its last 4 runs haven't been great but its win in the race before that would see it winning a little cosily but just in case it runs poorly again I will also have to back GLOBAL WARNING 2/1 who is the other known front running type and has won both of its races over this c/d so I think these 2 could have the race between them from the off. Treble Treble 7/1 2 Points lay...Spartan Fighter 18/1 ½ Point Each Way...Global Warning 2/1 1 Point win

LINGFIELD 3.10

A nice looking class 2 conditions race, I will start as usual with a lay, (Harrys Bar 4/1) who has times that are relatively slow for this class but it does usually run a decent race and could maybe make the frame and I am only looking to lay the win part, time wise its fairly close between my top 4 ratings, Aberama Gold who has quite poor trainer/jockey stats and stall 1 maybe not ideal in the make up of this race, Lampangbut this one might just get its high speed rating by getting towed song in a fast run race but hasn't won for awhile, Brian The Snail very often runs well and will be trying to stay on at the business end of the race but i will be putting my faith on HIGHLAND DRESS 11/1 who is drawn in stall 2 and being the only known front runner it could gain control of the rails until in the home straight and then kick on for the win and the one has got trainer stats at this course and the jockey has a 20% win ratio on this stables older horses. Harry’s Bar 4/1 1 Point lay...Highland Dress 11/1 1 Point Each Way

I hope all 8 runners take part in case I find an each way bet, I will lay (Erich Bloch) if a single figure price as it might need this run for fitness, in mot sure this surface really suits it and it might even need a longer trip, the early pace may be set by Kind Review and/or Another Angel, the former needs to improve time wise whilst the latter maybe outclassed at this level, Canford Bay is versatile when it comes to racing tactics and could be worth an each way bet if any value to do so but I will be relying on BUNIANN 2/1 who usually likes to track the leaders and then stay on resolutely at the finish, the price is poor but it would be ok in a multi-bet. Buniann 2/1 1 Point win

Bunian 9/4 3rd -1pt

Lay bet Erich Bloch +1pt

CHELMSFORD 6.10

I can only see Three Card Trick as a known pacesetter and it could make the frame but it only comes out 5th top rated on my overall figures and that time was recorded back in 2019 so not 100% sure what to expect but I think I will lay it if its a single figure price, Aces and Suzis Connoisseur are my joint 3rd top rated horses, Chocco Star recorded a fairly decent time when finishing 2nd but ran poorly last time out and it doesn't appear to be a very consistent beast but could make the frame, top on my list is EXCELLENT GEORGE 7/2 who can track the leaders or be held up for a late run and it has won 3 times and been placed 9 times from its 12 runs over this c/d the only downside is the stall 10 draw but I am hoping the apprentices 7lb claim can swing things in this ones favour. Excellent George 7/2 1 Point win

Excellent George 17/2 4th -1pt

5:10 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (22nd February)

WOLVERHAMPTON 5.10

VENTURA LIGHTNING 7/1 has 10% trainer/jockey stats, has a c/d time from 2020 that would make it 2nd top rated on recent times and has an even better time from Newcastle which would make it 2nd top rated overall, it usually tracks the leaders and they stay on dourly at the finish, and could make the frame but isn't in my opinion an each way price.

ALMINOOR 7/1 hasn't any form on this surface and the best from him came at Southwell, it has good jockey stats, 18%, so could go well but I have a feeling this surface doesn't really suit it and trainer has only a 9% win ratio at this course and maybe worth laying at the price.

DILIGENT LADY 5/1 trainer has 13% win ratio and the jockey has won 15% of the time, it has a time from Lingfield, a different surface, that would put it in the mix, it hasn't any form on this surface, the jockey stats make me think connections are expecting a big run.

SUN POWER 7/1 has poor trainer, 1-21 and jockey 0-7, stats but will be trying to stay on at the finish and is 2-2 over this c/d and I'm wondering if its quite up to winning this race but this 4yo might still have some improvement to come.

FUTURISTIC 3/1 has average trainer,12% and jockey 10% stats, time wise it would have to improve, its best time came from Newcastle so should like the surface but I'm not sure that its up to winning at this level and looks poor value so maybe worth taking a risk and lay it.

EL HOMBRE 7/1 has an 8% win ratio for the trainer and 13% is the jockeys win ratio, it has a time from both 2019 and 2020 that could see it being competitive here and has won twice, plus made the frame 4 times from 9 c/d runs and could make the frame again in this race.

SPARTAN FIGHTER 12/1 (EW) has average, 11%, trainer stats but jockey stats of 18%, its best time over this c/d, has a recent c/d time that would make it my 3rd top rated and using a time from Newcastle it would be top rated overall.

HEER WE GO AGAIN 12/1 has average trainer/jockey stats, 11% + 13%, it seems to do better over a shorter distance and may also be outclassed in this race.

SUMMARY: This isn't an easy race to come to a conclusion, there are several horses that have pieces of form that could see them go well in this race, there is a couple of runners (Alminoor 7/1) and Heer We Go Again, that i will look to lay if they are of value to do so but I will be putting my trust and money on. SPARTAN FIGHTER 12/1 (EW) with only 8 runners the draw may not play a vital part in the outcome of this race but I feel that the apprentice jockeys 5lb claim could swing things in the favour of my selection and as long as all 8 runners take part I will suggest going with an each way wager.
