3:35 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (14th August)

WOLVERHAMPTON 3.35

6F Class 6 Claimer 7 Runners Its nice to be back with a sprint to write about but I've stopped looking at class 5 and 6 sprints on grass and with the soft going recently I've had nothing to write about and I have to admit I am enjoying a more relaxing time which has given me time to look at other things.

Anyway today's sprint has got three 3yo’s amongst them, Granny B 6/1 has only poorish form to its name, the distance might be too far for Doctor Mozart 10/1 especially with 2 confirmed front runners in the race, Princess Savannah 20/1 is one of those that has deployed the pacesetters role but when it won the time before last it was a slow run affair and it might have been flattered by the result as usual don't forget these youngsters can improve from one run to the next with no indication of them doing so but I couldn't back any of them with any confidence but I'm also not sure if I could lay them.

Snazzy Jazzy 13/8 hasn't run on an AW track before and its also been in very poor form in its 3 runs this year so its not for me in this race despite it being the favourite. Gannon Glory 10/1 recorded a relatively slow time when doing its best form over this distance at Newcastle but it was this year so it could go well but would need to improve time wise to win this race if others reproduce their best so its not for me. Shallow Hal 15/8 is dropped in class to run in this race and this 7yo was a much better horse at its best but it hasn't performed well at this course in the past which is enough to put me off this one.

Okay, that leaves me with MUSCIKA 11/1 who has got the plum stall 1 draw and has been known to lead before and add that to the fact that its my top rated I'm expecting it to get away smartly to gain control of the rails and then lead all the way to get back to winning ways but it hasn't been in the best of form recently so maybe not a race to be betting in too heavily.

3:30 Lingfield Racing Tips (25th March)

LINGFIELD 3.30

A field of 7 for this class 2 dash where 4 of the runners, Arecibo, Live In The Dream, Kiwano and The Defiant, have been known to lead before, Navello and The Defiant look to be outsiders in this race and the former may need this run for fitness while the latter may be outclassed at this level another I think might get outclassed is Badri 2/1 and this one might be of value to lay in this race. Arecibo usually stays on at this distance but maybe too late to win this race, Live In The Dream has only a slow time over this distance at both here on Tapeta and on the Polytrack surface at Wolverhampton, Kiwano was allowed an easy lead in a 3 horse race when beating TONE THE BARONE 10/3 but the pace that day was relatively slow which didn't suit it and this looks an ideal race to reverse that form especially on 3lb better terms.

Tone The Barone 10/3 PU (sadly fatally injured. Condolences to connections)

Lay bet Badri +1pt

LINGFIELD 5.15

This 10 runner class 5 sprint is very tight on my figures, Hit Mac 9/1 has only won over 5 furlongs so may not stay this distance here and its figure looks to have been recorded when towed along in a fast run race so may be flattering to its actual chances here, Porfin hasn't been in the best of form lately, Politics could be the one to set the pace to this race although Repartee has also been known to lead before so it should ensure there's a good early pace to the race. Beauzon is a hold up type but may stay on too late in this race to win it but could possibly make the frame. EPIC EXPRESS 10/1 is my top rated but only by 1lb it has good trainer and jockey stats both with a win ratio of 20% but if its a little rusty and needs this run for fitness after being off for 142 days so i will also be backing EL HOMBRE 7/1 who although being a 9yo is still capable of winning at this level and the change of jockey looks promising as he has a 21% win ratio on the stables older horses.

WOLVERHAMPTON 7.30

A turnout of 13 for this class 4 sprint where 7 of the runners have been known to lead before so it might be a furious early pace and according to my figures it is most likely that the winner will come from a front running type. Shalaa Asker 8/1 has been running well but seems to struggle when raised up to this level it might run ok but I would look to lay the win part with this horse and is the only one that might be of value to lay. Algheed is my 5th top rated and likes to front run while Tolstoy is my 4th top rated but that's using a Polytrack time at Chelmsford and hasn't run over this distance on this Tapeta surface before so not sure what to expect but I will stick with the proven, I've got joint 2nd top rated horses in MUSCIKA 6/1 and ABERAMA GOLD 5/1 and both are capable of leading but they can also deploy other racing tactics which gives them more than one string to their bow while my top rated is INTERVENTION 8/1 who has been running quite well recently and if able to reproduce its Southwell rating here, which was a class 3 race but stall 13 isn't ideal for it in the make-up of this race or it might have been my sole bet if drawn better, it would win with a bit to spare so I will be backing all 3 of them to hopefully cover the angles but my stakes will be kept low because it looks a very competitive race.

WOLVERHAMPTON 8.00

A class 6 sprint where the early pace may be set by Van Gerwen who is the only known front running type in this field of 10 horses but may need this run for fitness and time wise it would need to improve a few spots (that's assuming others will run to their best time wise) Rhubarb seems better over shorter while Lion Ring 4/1 might prefer further and both will be lays if of value to do so. Jackmeister is my 3rd top rated and will be trying to stay on at the end of this race but further might suit it better, Starjik sits in 2nd top spot and usually tracks the leaders while my top rated horse *MY BOY JACK 7/2 is a hold up type who finished strongly at this level and likes a relatively fast pace to aim at so this race ought to suit it perfectly.

5:30 Chelmsford Racing Tips (16th February)

CHELMSFORD 5.30

A field of 8 for this class 5 apprentice jockey dash with 2 known front running types amongst them. I think both Astro Jakk and Dalby Forest need further to show their best form so might be worth laying and Porfin might also stay on too late for the win. Frisky needs to improve a few spots time wise to win here while I'm Mable is my 4th top rated, Bert Kibbler a possible pacesetter is my 3rd top rated but that's using a rating on the Tapeta surface at Southwell and hasn't run on this surface before so could be dangerous if improving for the switch of surfaces. Beneficiary is my top rated but again using a Tapeta rating but this time from Newcastle which is also a straight course over today's distance but as you know i love a front running type and in this race I'm hoping that EXPERT OPINION 5/1 can lead all the way, it has won over this course and distance before while the apprentice jockey is 1-3 when riding for today's stable which has a 17% win ratio in apprentice jockey races.

CHELMSFORD 6.00

Ten runners in this class 5 sprint with 4 horses that have been known to lead before but this race is nigh on impossible to analyse to a proper conclusion. Bang On The Drum and Autumn Flight may struggle to stay the distance in this race while Desert Boots might be better suited to a longer distance. Magical Max a possible pacesetter is my 5th top rated using a rating from its last run when finishing 2nd so is in good form while Mustaffiz comes out in 4th top spot but that is using a Polytrack rating from Southwell. MUSCIKA 9/2 who is a versatile type when it comes to racing tactics, that does include leading, is my joint top rated on my ratings from last year and this and if I go back to 2021 it would then be my top rated, BEZZA'S LAD 5/1 is a front running type and my other joint top rated on recent Polytrack ratings and using a Tapeta rating from Wolverhampton in 2022 it comes out in 2nd top spot on my overall figures, EL HOMBRE 17/2 is only 3rd top rated on recent Polytrack ratings, there is only 1lb between my top rated trio, but is top rated, again by only 1lb, if I use its best Tapeta rating again from Wolverhampton last year. With there only being 1lb between them it is virtually impossible to split them so I will dutch the 3 of them and it also covers the angles of front running types and something coming from off the pace in case they go off too fast and fade nearing the finish.

7:00 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (21st December)

WOLVERHAMPTON 7.00

This race isn't too bad fora class 6 sprint with 13 runners and 3 front running types amongst them, I will be looking to lay Final Account if its a single figure price as its still a maiden after 17 runs with 3 of them being on an artificial surface and 2 of those runs have been over this distance on this Tapeta surface. The early pace might be set by VIEWFROMTHESTARS 14/1 who is in stall 11 but with not too much opposition to get to the front it could get there and then prove hard to catch but the top weight MY BOY JACK 4/1 is my top rated using Southwell ratings and is only 3lbs below my other selection on course and distance ratings and with the apprentices 7lb claim it moves to top spot but its still a maiden after 17 races so hence why its not my sole bet in this race but my other selection is still a maiden after 10 runs so my stakes will be kept low.

A 9 runner class 4 sprint where a 3rd of the field have been known to lead before and I think this race could be won from the front. Bezza's Lad can produce good ratings but in lower class races and I expect it will be an outsider. If Idoapologise is of value then it might be worth laying as I think it will be better when racing over a longer distance, there is only 1lb between Amber Dew and Ballyare in 4th and 3rd top spots. Intervention 10/3 is my 2nd top rated horse and has the stall 1 draw which is always a bonus for a front runner but I will be putting my trust on MUSCIKA 4/1 who is in stall 3 so should be able to at least get away on terms and if getting to the front it could prove more than hard to catch and the stable has been in form with 5 winners from 14 runners in the last 2 weeks.

A class 6 dash with 10 runners and a couple of early paced sorts in Boom The Groom 14/1 and Waverley Star 9/2 and if the former could reproduce its best 2020 rating it would win with a bit too spare but this 11yo isn't the same horse nowadays but this race wont take much winning so might be worth an each way interest, while the latter needs to improve a good few spots to win the race. Nacho Star is capable looking at its best rating from last year, then there is Spanish Angel and Hit Mac who have the same speed rating. The more I look at this race the more I think its a race to leave alone but if the top weight is a double figure price I might have a small each way punt.

7:00 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (1st October)

WOLVERHAMPTON 7.00

To be honest there's not really much form to work with in this race with five 3yo’s in the field of 12 so any stakes will be kept low, the top weighted MUSCIKA 9/1 (EW) catches my eye as it is dropped in class to run in this race and the last time it was dropped to this class 5 level it won and therefore I'm hoping it can repeat that effort here as the rating it recorded here last year would be enough to win this race and at the price could be worth an each way punt.

WOLVERHAMPTON 7.30

This 6 furlong sprint has 3 known front running types so it should be a true run race, one I will be looking to lay is Ancient Times who seems to have trouble staying today's distance with a fast early pace while Royal Pleasure can struggle to stay this distance but with the make-up of this race it could be staying on if the leaders tire nearing the finish. Strike Red is a joint 2nd top rated using a rating from 2021 at Newcastle but hasn't been in good form lately, WATCHYA 7/1 (EW) is one of the front runners in the race and is my other joint 2nd top rated using a 2022 course and distance rating and could lead all the way here as long as it doesn't have to battle too hard and then fade nearing the finish, using a rating it recorded at Newcastle in 2020 DUBAI STATION 14/1 (EW) comes out in top spot but only by a couple of pounds and then its being ridden by a 7lb claiming apprentice so if worth the claim takes it 9lbs clear, it hasn't any recent form over this course and distance but has shown it can still compete at this level with form from elsewhere, so I will be backing them both to cover the angles and maybe each way wagers might pay dividends.

CHELMSFORD 7.00

A field of 9 for this class 2 sprint where a third of them have been known to lead before, its such a competitive race I'm not sure I can find anything to lay, there is only 3lbs between my 7th top rated and the horse sitting in 3rd top spot, my 2nd top rated horse Tolstoy is only 2lbs higher but my top rated is the top weight MAY SONIC 11/1 (EW) who if able to reproduce its best rating from 2021 would win this race with a bit to spare, it also has good trainer/jockey stats which make me think connections are expecting it to get back to winning ways here but the price says it has to be an each way bet.

NEWCASTLE 8.15

Fourteen runners in this class 3 sprint with a couple of known front running types to ensure there's a good fast early gallop, the 3yo Lir Speciale hasn't any form on this surface but on Polytrack it only produced slow times so would need to improve for the switch to this Tapeta surface to win this race and would also need to improve on its best rating from the turf so maybe worth laying but as it has good trainer/jockey stats so it will only be a small lay, Water Of Leith can produce good ratings but not at this level and would be another lay if a single figure price, I will be backing both of the known front runners in this race, WATCHYA 16/1 (EW) has been in good form winning 3 of its last 5 races and is my top rated using just 2022 ratings so has to be backed but MUSCIKA 33/1 (EW) has an even better rating from 2021 at Wolverhampton and this horse is capable of springing back to form without prior warning and I expect it will be an each way price, in fact at the prices i will be backing them both each way.

A nice looking class 3 dash with 14 runners and 3 known front running types amongst them, I will be looking to lay Many A Star who has never won over this distance as a longer trip suits it much better and hasn't ever won on an artificial surface from 4 attempts, Marnie James, Be Proud and Show Me Show Me could be battling to make the frame but I will be backing 2 horses to cover the angles, SWAYZE 18/1 (EW) is one of the possible pacesetters in this race but hasn't run on an AW course but its best rating from the turf would see it winning this race a shade cosily but that's only if it takes to the surface so i will also be backing NAVELLO 14/1 (EW) who likes to track the leaders and is my top rated using a rating it recorded here last year and has good trainer/jockey stats which I'm hoping points to connections expecting it to run a big race here and once again I will be backing them both each way.

2:20 Lingfield Racing Tips (15th April)

LINGFIELD 2.20

With both If You Dare and Mighty Gurkha being front running types it should be a true run race but I doubt if either can stay in front to the line, Mulzim and Whittle Le Woods 7/1 both might prefer the Tapeta surface but I doubt this pair will be single figure prices, as for the winner I cannot narrow it down to anything less than three with decent chances of winning if they hit top form, JACK'S POINT 6/1 (EW) is my top rated on just 2022 speed figures and third top rated using both 2022 and 2021 ratings, MUSCIKA 16/1 (EW) comes out second top rated using its best 2021 figure and third top using just 2022 ratings but this years speed figure is quite a few spots below its best figure but could be worth an each way punt, COUNT OTTO 12/1 (EW) comes out second top rated on just 2022 ratings and top using both years figures and if its possible I would hope to have each way wagers on all three of them.

A cracking class 2 Conditions race where they all carry the same weight, I will hopefully be laying Harry's Bar 9/1 who seems to prefer the Polytrack surface and has poorish trainer stats, I'm not sure if there's anything worthwhile that I could lay, while Ejtilaab 9/2 is the official top rated horse in the race but seems slightly better on the Polytrack surface, Spycatcher 11/2 is second best on my figures which again is on the Polytrack surface and hasn't run over this distance on this Tapeta surface so I'm not sure what it can achieve on this surface, GOOD EFFORT 12/1 (EW)  is my top rated on course and distance speed figures and also comes out top rated overall using its best rating from Lingfield, it also has good trainer 35%, and jockey 33%, stats which hopefully means they are going all out for the win in this race and has to be given as an each way wager.

Just 8 runners so I hope they all take part, half of the field have led before so it should have a fast early pace but I think they might set the race up for something coming from off the pace, I will be looking to lay Blackcurrent 7/2 whose trainer is 0-4 at this course and 0-5 in the last 2 weeks and its been nearly a month since their last winner plus it needs to improve time wise to win this race, I also feel that Porfin 7/1 might get outpaced here and may stay on too late for the win and might be a better prospect over further, my money will be relying on I'M MABLE 3/1 who usually likes to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish and this race might be run to suit it but as this is its first run for quite awhile i will be keeping my stakes on the low side.

5:00 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (30th December)

WOLVERHAMPTON 5.00

ABERAMA GOLD has a fast time from Lingfield this year but its best rating on the Tapeta surface is a good few spots lower and usually needs a run for fitness after a break so one I will look to lay if of value to do so which I think 6/1 is value to lay it.

FIZZY FEET is dropped in class to run in this race and the jockey does quite well for the stable so connections might be expecting a big run but it does need to improve on its best c/d time from this year while its best 2020 time could see it make the frame so maybe each way at 8/1.

CORINTHIA KNIGHT has poor recent form to its name and may also need a shorter distance to show its best form and the jockey is 0-12 for the stable and I would look to lay this one at 15/2.

SHALLOW HAL has a time from Newcastle which could see it make the frame but going round a bend here its previous c/d runs have produced a rating a good few spots lower than its best overall figure, its been in poor form recently and another that I would look to lay at 15/2.

MUSCIKA this one is the one i think will set the pace to this race and was a beaten favourite last time it ran and the switch of jockey looks a positive move and it is my top rated on just 2020 c/d times.

ASTRO JAKK hasn't any form on this surface this year but its top ratings from 2020 at both here and Newcastle would see it being competitive but the jockeys 1-23 record for this stable doesn't fill me with confidence and stall 8 isn't a great help which is enough to put me off its chances.

INVINCIBLE LARNE has a time from Chelmsford im 2020 which would make it my top rated on overall figures but its best rating on this surface is quite a bit below that level and would leave it needing to improve a fair few spots.

BALLYARE the trainer does quite well at this course, 2-7 with just those few runners but I think this one might find itself outclassed in this race although it did record a decent rating this year and it might make the frame but I would lay the win part at 5/1.

IDOAPOLOGISE this horse won on good to firm ground on turf but it was a relatively slow time and may need further to show its best and one I would lay if its a single figure price, which I doubt it will be.

SUMMARY: This class 3 is very competitive and the form lines and speed ratings crossover each other at various different courses and at first glance it looked nearly impossible to predict the winner but I am hoping I have found the deciding factor, MUSCIKA 7/2 was the 9/4 favourite last time out but was pestered for the lead and faded badly nearing the finish and finished nearer last than first, there is a switch of jockeys for this race and today's pilot has a better record for the stable and I'm hoping it can lead here and then prove too hard to catch.

5:00 Newcastle Racing Tips (11th December)

NEWCASTLE 5.00

To be completely honest this is a very poor race even for class 6, I have put negatives against half of the 14 runners while I can see 3 horses that have been known to lead before and if one horse bounces back to form it could be won from the front, I am not sure if there will be any lays as all bar one of the 7 I have negatives for are forecast to be double figure prices, I've got SWISS CONNECTION 8/1 (EW) as my 3rd top rated and this one is capable of reproducing its best speed figure again and could at least make the frame and with question marks about my top 2 ratings I will have to back this one as well, BLACKCURRENT 18/1 (EW) is my top rated on just 2021 ratings but the jockey is 0-4 for the stable but could make the frame while my top rated horse ROCKLEY POINT 28/1 (EW) becomes my top rated using a rating from 2020 and drops to 2nd top using a time recorded earlier this year but has been way out of form lately and it has poor trainer, 5% and jockey 0-15 stats which puts me off a little but could be worth an each way punt an I cannot see anything else to do but back the three of them with each way bets at the odds available.

I can see a couple of possible pacesetters in this race but I doubt that they can hold on for the win as they both need to improve time wise, I'm not sure if there is anything of value to put forward as a lay bet in this race but the betting will be the deciding factor as usual, El Hombre is my 4th top rated but that is using a 2020 time and this horses seems to be getting a bit slower each year, Vape comes out top rated on just 2021 course and distance times but that is only good enough for 3rd top spot overall, Ballyare comes 2nd best but I had to go back to 2019 to find this ones rating but in its defence it has not run over this course and distance since that year and the apprentice jockey booking could be a positive and it could make the frame, I have to admit my top rated STORM OVER 33/1 (EW) hasn't shown much in its last 5 runs and has only ran once over this course and distance this year but its best time from 2020 puts it in top spot and the apprentices 5b claim could tip things more in its favour, it is a bit more of a gamble but at the price I cannot let it run without a few quid riding on it as an each way punt.

2:05 Lingfield Racing Tips (26th November)

LINGFIELD 2.05

This class 4 race is very complicated with form lines and speed figures coming from various courses some on this surface and others on the Tapeta surface, the top weight Outrage 15/2 is a much better horse over five furlongs and I would look to lay it in this race over six furlongs with a couple of known front running pacesetters to make sure there is a fast early pace and the 3yo Twilight Madness 7/4 from the prime draw of stall one could do best of those two but it would need to improve time wise to win this race but it could go well but I doubt it will be an each way price (I sure wasn't wrong but 7/4 is very poor value), Concierge 25/1 comes out 4th best using a Kempton time from 2020 but hasn't shown much in its recent turf runs but might be worth an each way bet if others falter, Fauvette 9/2 is my 3rd top rated using a time it recorded at Chelmsford this year and a repeat here could see it make the frame but its forecast to be the favourite so not an each way price and it might be worth laying the win part, the bottom weight Camachess 22/1 is capable of recording a good speed figure but in lower class races so it could go well but i doubt it can win this race as it seems to either win or be nowhere so i will be backing MUSCIKA 8/1 who ran a decent race on its only run this year over this course and distance but a repeat of the time it recorded last time out when winning over this distance at Chelmsford would see it winning this race a shade cosily.

LINGFIELD 2.40 Div I

This first division is quite poor even for a class 6 race and looking at the tissue prices I have negatives against the first three in the betting, Morty 3/1 who might find the trip too far and looks like being a shorter price because it won last time out, Della Mare 13/2 who won a race two runs ago at Kempton but it was a relatively slow run affair, Julie Johnston 13/2 has recorded slow times over this distance and on this surface at Kempton and Chelmsford so I cannot see any reason why that should change here but I also have to mention that this race will not take much winning, the one at the bottom of the handicap, Mercers, hasn't shown much lately and seems on the decline at just 7 years of age but its best time from 2019 would make it my 3rd top rated while its best from 2020 was 10lb’s lower, I will be having a small wager on 2 horses, firstly BRAZEN ARROW 15/2 who hasnt any course form to its name but its best time recorded at Chelmsford this year makes I my 2nd top rated and its time last time out was only 2lbs below its best but I do have *BERNARD SOIERPOINT 14/1 rated 1lb higher using a time this one also recorded at Chelmsford this year and its only ran over this course and distance before which resulted in a slow time, to be honest i am hoping they are both going to be each way prices as that looks the best way to go in this race.

A field of 8 runners with just All You Wish having been known to lead but then only on sufferance but I couldn't back or lay this one, I would look to lay Newyorkstateofmind 5/1 who looks to be better over a shorter trip, Grey Galleon 9/1 maybe outclassed in this race but does come out 2nd best on just recent distance times and not of value to lay, Dancinginthewoods weakened over 7 furlongs so this trip could suit it, Little Boy Blue 11/4 has a fast time from back in 2019 but hasn't been near that level since then and the jockeys 0-5 record for the stable is a little off-putting and it might be worth laying at the price, the top weight ABLE KANE 2/1 has the top spot on recent distance form and a repeat of its Catterick time from last year would be good enough to see it winning this race.

Able Kane 7/2 2nd -1pt

Only 6 runners and the early pace might be set by Desert Safari 2/1 but I'm doubtful it can lead all the way for the win but not sure enough of that to lay it, Citron Major maybe outclassed in this race, Fortamour likes to track the leaders but needs to improve time wise to win here, Mister Lupton is a hold up type but I think the race will be between Staxton who starts of as my top rated but the 5lb the apprentice claims riding MUSCIKA 7/2 moves this one to top spot and the jockey booking looks a positive making me think connections are expecting it to win.

HAYDOCK 5.40

Quite a poor race even for a class 5 race, there is a couple, Ustath and Spirit Power, that like like to set the pace, the former can struggle at the distance if its a fast early pace while the latter prefers some cut in the ground, both Dana Forever 7/2 and Production 7/2 race as though a longer distance would be beneficial so maybe worth laying i have a negative stat against every horse in the race bar the one and that is CAMACHESS 11/1 who is having its first run on its favoured good to firm ground her and that could see it bounce back to form, it does handicap itself sometimes with tardy starts but it it a hold up type anyway so its not really a big problem but it will need a clear run when it makes its move to run on to win the race.

12:50 Beverley Racing Tips & Lay Bets (24th July)

BEVERLEY 12.50

I will look to lay (Royal Brave + Antagonize) the early pace could be set by Balancing Act but whether it can hold on for the win I'm not so sure but it could possibly make the frame, Buniann could be a danger if it could repeat it best AW time but hasn't shown as much so far on turf, Burtonwood and Nibras Again could run good races but I am going out on a limb with TRUE HERO 25/1 it looks the value call and it is versatile with its racing tactics but it will want genuinely good to firm ground to show its best and that's whats forecast so I will be backing it each way in this race.

True Hero 25/1 8th (-1pt)

Lay bets: Royal Brave +1pt, Antogonize +1pt

RIPON 6.25

Again I will start with the horses I will be laying (Vintage Brut + Quick Look + Makyon) although the latter two could be possible pacesetters I think it will be set up for a finishing type in this race, there's a few in this race that could run big races, Brian The Snail, Citron Major, Flying Pursuit and Dark Defender, EQUIANO SPRINGS 11/2 is versatile when it comes to racing tactics and it is my top-rated on just 2020 times so has to be backed but I cannot omit MUSCIKA 4/1 who has a good time from 2019 but its 2018 time would make it top rated overall it likes to track the early pace and this race could be run to suits its style.
