1:20 Leicester Racing Tips (23rd May)

LEICESTER 1.20

Afield of 9 runners in this class five apprentice jockeys race, I'm not sure what to expect from Alablaq who therefore could be a bit of a hidden danger as its best time from the AW surface at Lingfield but hasn't any form over this distance on turf, as for something to lay both *Follow Your Heart 15/2 and Mostallim 7/1 fit the bill, the former's trainer is 0-42 at this course and doesn't seem to like good to firm ground while the latter races as though a longer distance would suit it better, I've got Rainbow Mirage as my 2nd top rated but its only win on good to firm ground was in a class 6 race, the only horse that's known as a front running type is GIOGIOBBO 6/1 who also happens to be my top rated using just ratings recorded on grass and if getting to the front it could prove hard to catch.

WOLVERHAMPTON 3.40

Ten runners in this class 6 race but this time there is three known front running types so it should be a true run affair although all 3 of them are forecast to be double figure prices and none are in my top 3 ratings, I think Arzaak 6/1 is a better prospect when racing on the Polytrack surface so might be worth laying in this race, I will also be looking to lay Glorious Charmer 11/4 as the trainer is 0-11 in the last 2 weeks and I think it will probably need a longer distance on the AW surfaces as most of its best form has come over further, Nachom comes out as my 3rd top rated and is normally held up for a late run, sitting in 2nd top spot is Billy Dylan 14/1 who likes to track the leaders and then stay on dourly at the finish so could be worth an each way interest but i will be pinning my hopes on ADMIRABLE LAD 14/1 (EW) who also likes to track the leaders and then runs on well at the finish and at the price i have to give it as an each way wager.

1:55 Carlisle Racing Tips (16th May)

PS: Yes I know a postscript should be at the end of a piece of work my English isn't quite that bad, looking at the weather forecast everywhere is forecast to have rain either today and or tomorrow so please check the going before placing a bet on anything I've mentioned because if the going is on the soft side then my ratings are defunct and I have wasted several hours analysing and writing up today's sprints.

CARLISLE 1.55

A nine runner class 5 race so nothing to get too excited about but with 3 known front running types it should be a true run affair and of those 3 Runninwild may do best of them although I'm not completely sure what to expect from Stalingrad who might need further to show its best, East Street Revue and Good Earth are my joint 4th top rated with Melody King sitting in 3rd top spot, there is a 5lb gap between my top 2, Fashion Advice is my top rated but this one might need this run after not having had a run in the last year but would be dangerous if fully fit but i would rather back its stablemate, VENTURA FLAME 7/1 who is usually held up for a late run, as either could win this race I will have a covering bet on Fashion Advice just in case the stable are only trying with this one.

Ventura Flame 10/1 1st +10pts

Total +10pts

REDCAR 3.55

Just a poor turnout of 5 runners for this class 3 dash but luckily there is one known front runner amongst them, looking at the early tissue prices Sir Titus 3/1 is forecast to be the favourite but this one seems to do its winning in lower class races and I would think about laying it even if it is the favourite, Rebel At Dawn is my 3rd top rated and only 2lbs behind Soul Seeker in 2nd top spot but my top rated is *MODULAR MAGIC 11/4 and its the one known front running type in the race so hopefully it can lead all the way for victory.

*NR

No bet soft ground

WINDSOR 6.10

I hope that all 8 runners take part so I can have an each way bet, if I can find one, its so bad I cannot find with confidence anything to lay, Tabdeed comes out 3rd top on my figures who can be held up for a late run or tracks the leaders and then try to stay on at the finish, if I went back to 2020 then Atalantis Boy would be in 2nd top spot but hasn't been within 10 spots of that rating since then, my top rated is FIRST FOLIO 13/2 who recorded a rating at Yarmouth last year that would see it winning this race a shade cosily.

First Folio 13/2 2nd -1pt

Total -1pt

WINDSOR 6.40

A class 3 race with 12 runners and 4 that have been known to lead before, I might well look to lay The Princes Poet, Global Prospector 7/1 and Nelson Gay (non-runner) who might find this trip too far for them especially with a fast early pace then add Inver Park 6/1 who need to improve a good few spots time wise to win this race, Chipstead 12/1 is my 3rd top rated using a Goodwood rating this year, Media Guest 18/1 is my 2nd top rated using a 2021 Yarmouth usually held up for a late run but if SHOBIZ 11/2 can reproduce its best time from Yarmouth again here at Goodwood it can lead and hold on for the win.

Showbiz 11/2 9th -1pt

Total -1pt

LEICESTER 7.50

Eleven runners in a class 4 race but again a big problem with no known front running types amongst them, with a fast early pace I could have eliminated Dream Composer 5/1, Prince Of Abington 11/2 and Dark Shot 40/1 who all might struggle to stay the distance although the middle one of those 3 is my 2nd top rated, using a speed figure it recorded at Carlisle last year LORD P 7/1 but the possible downfall could be that its usually races in midfield or held up for a late run so without a decent gallop things will be much harder for it to win.

3:20 Leicester Racing Tips (23rd April)

There are two sprints today at Ripon 4.00 and Haydock 1.30 where the going is given as good and good to soft in places which isn't what's needed for my ratings to work, IF, and it is a big if, the going does dry out then I might have a small each way punt on Macho Pride 10/1 in the Haydock race as it could possibly lead all the way as its the only known front running type in the race but there is a few lightly raced sorts who might turn out to be front runners in the future but I will be hoping it doesn't happen here if I am able to have a bet and Bedford Flyer could be the answer to the Ripon race as there is 4 known front running types in this race and that might set it up for something coming from off the pace, I will concentrate on the sprint where I am predicted to have good and good to firm in places ground at Leicester.

LEICESTER 3.20

CITY WALK 11/2 has good jockey stats but its not the happiest hunting ground for the trainer who is 1-10 at the course, it hasn't won over this distance so I'm not 100% sure it will stay the distance if there's a decent early gallop .

DAZZLING DAN has a decent time from back in 2020 and hasn't been in the same level of form since that year, it may need this run for fitness and a lay if a single figure price, the trainer has a decent win ratio at this course but the jockey is 0-8 for the stable.

JACK'S POINT has 1 win from 26 runs on turf which doesn't bode well it may also be better when racing over a longer distance and the jockey has only a mediocre 8% win ratio for the stable and one I will look to lay.

DANCINGINTHEWOODS its been 57 runners and 166 days since the stable last had a winner, the trainer is 1-14 at this course and would need to improve time wise to be winning this race so everything points to this one being worth taking on with a lay bet.

AL SIMMO a possible pacesetter but its been 26 runners and 246 days since the stables last winner plus the trainer is 0-16 at this course and will need to improve on the clock to win here so maybe another to lay.

CRAZY LUCK this horse might not want the ground to be really fast and that's reflected in its speed figures, the jockey has a poorish 6% win ratio for the stable and the stable is 0-16 for the last 2 weeks and 28 runners over the last 52 days since its last winner.

LETMELIVEMYLIFE this one hasn't been in the best of form in its last few runs and may be better racing over a longer distance so one to lay if a single figure price nearing the off.

SMEATON'S LIGHT this one seems to need good to firm going to show its best form and being a front runner it could prove dangerous if getting to the front, it does have good trainer/jockey stats and has to have some degree of a chance of winning this race.

CASTANA DIA 14/1 this one will be trying to stay on strongly nearing the finish and its best rating recorded at Yarmouth last year would make it my top rated but all of its best form has come on flat courses and it might not be as good on this undulating surface but has won twice and placed four times in its 8 runs on turf so could go well and has good trainer/jockey stats.

SUMMARY: I can see a few that could be possible lays in this race as time wise I've got three horses that are a good few spots above the rest of the field, City Walk and Castana Dia could go well but the former has poor trainer stats while the latter may prefer a flatter course, so my money will be riding on SMEATON'S LIGHT 14/1 (EW) who has won before when coming back from a break, it has good trainer/jockey stats with its older horses and if its the double figure price predicted on the tissue prices I will be going with an each way wager.

3:10 Leicester Racing Tips (20th September)

LEICESTER 3.10

Only a poor turnout of 7 runners for a class 3 handicap but it should be a true run affair, the good to firm ground maybe against First Edition 5/1 and might be worth laying that's if the rain stays away but that doesn't look likely according to the weather forecast, Celsius 8/1 comes out in 3rd top spot using a time recorded at Ascot and does run fairly constantly when given the right conditions - distance, going and class, Ginger Jam 7/2 is the one that comes out 2nd best on my figures using a time from Beverley last year but my top rated is FAUSTUS 11/4 who is one of two known front running types in this race and if it gets to the front it should prove hard to catch plus it has decent trainer stats and good jockey stats making me think its fancied by the stable.

Faustus 11/4 3rd -1pt

LEICESTER 3.45

A tricky race to analyse with 7 of the 9 runners either being 3yo’s or lightly raced 4yo’s, I think Bailey's Afterparty 10/1 may need further to shine so might be worth laying if of any value to do so, Dodgy Bob 25/1 is one of two front running sorts in this race and comes out 3rd best on my speed figures but hasn't been in good form lately which is reflected in its price, my 2nd top rated is Amathus 4/1 who is quite versatile with its tactics apart from racing from the front but that is what I expect WE’RE REUNITED 7/2 will do in this race and if leading it could prove hard to catch but the trainers 0-9 in the last 2 weeks and its 40 days since the stables last winner which doesnt boost my confidence over its chances of winning but i will be having a small bet on it.

WOLVERHAMPTON 5.30

A 10 runner race over 5 furlongs with 4 front running types in the field, I will look to lay both Expert Opinion 10/1 who might not really like this surface and Kingsholme 10/3 who may struggle to stay the distance if there's a fast early pace which I expect there to be in this race, if they are single figure prices, Kim Wexter 12/1 and Mutabaahy 12/1 could both go well and might be worth an each way interest at double figure prices, my idea of the winner and the value call is TANTASTIC 20/1 (EW) who will be trying to stay on strongly at the business end of the race, the trainer is 4-17 for the last 2 weeks so is in good form so I'm hoping this one adds to their tally but at the price it has to be an each way wager.

A 13 runner race where 5 of them have been known to lead before, the betting will be the deciding factor if there's any lays or not and it looks like not, of the front runners Freedom Flyer and Champagne Supernova could do best of those racing to the fore but I doubt they will hold on for the win as neither are in my top 4 ratings, Jackstar is my 4th top and Zamjar sits in 3rd top spot and could fill the minor places, Tomshalfbrother is top rated on just 2021 times but that time isn't good enough to make my top 5 but it has a time from 2020 that makes it 2nd top on overall figures so may be worth an each way interest but my money will be riding on ICONIC KNIGHT 11/2 who hasn't raced over this distance so far this year and this drop back in trip will suit it, its best time from 2020 makes it my top rated and the jockey booking looks a positive one so lets hope that's a good pointer and follows up its win last time out.

1:30 Hamilton Racing Tips (15th July)

HAMILTON 1.30

An 8 runner 5 furlong dash with 3 horses that have been known to lead before, I will look to lay Mr Trevor 5/1 who I think will need a longer trip to show its true worth and may get outpaced in this race, the 2 at the bottom of the handicap, Rain Cap and Lady Of Desire have to improve dramatically to win this race and I think they will need further to shine and they will be among the outsiders in the race, it looks like Tanasoq will be a short priced favourite and it is my 2nd top rated and being in good form it maybe deserves to be the favourite but it also gives me an opportunity, as long as all 8 runners take part and there is therefore 3 places up for grabs for an each way wager, I will be having a bet on DEBAWTRY 8/1 who has a time from Thirsk earlier this year that makes it my top rated and this one likes a fast pace to aim at and finish strongly at the finish so an each way bet could pay dividends.

This is one of those stakes races which are becoming popular for low class horses and to be honest most of them are too poor to bother with but I do still check the speed figures if any of them have been recorded on my figures and in this race I have one horse GLORIOUS RIO 10/1 (EW) who ran a time at Carlisle earlier this year which is bit higher than usual for this grade of racing and if its a double figure price, as forecast in the early tissue prices, it might pay dividends by going with an each way punt but my stake wont be at full strength.

1:35 Sandown Racing Tips (12th June)

SANDOWN 1.35

I will look to lay both Phoenix Star 11/2 and Vandad 11/1 if they are single figure prices, the former seems to want a longer trip to show its best while the latter has poor trainer/jockey stats and seems a weak finisher over both sprint distances, Shecandoo 8/1 has been running well but my be outclassed in this race but i doubt it will be a single figure price at the off, Secretfact 12/1 seems to be on a downward spiral time wise each year and as an 8yo I doubt it will bounce back to its best of 2019, Saaheq 13/2 doesn't want the ground to be rattling but this ones best time from 2019 would put it in the mix but the trainer has a poor record here with their older horses of one win from thirty four races, Royal Birth 14/1 could go well here but its another that I've gone back to 2019 to find its best form, they are all capable on their day but can they bounce back to form is the question so I will place my faith on SERAPHINITE 15/2 who likes to track the leaders and is my top rated on recent, 2020/21, times and the jockey has a 25% win ratio on the stables older horses so I'm hoping that's a positive omen.

CHESTER 2.10

I can see 3 front running types in this 14 runner race but I am not a fan of betting at this course, Turanga Leela 8/1 and Glory Fighter 9/2 could set the pace and the former could do enough from the front to make the frame but they are both a bit short in the betting to be of value in my opinion, Brian The Snail 10/1 could go well but stall 3 isn't of any help for a hold up type unless the rails have the cutback nearing the finish, Second Collection 14/1 is my top rated on a time from Windsor last year but its out in stall 12 which could be a hindrance and the trainer is 0-16 here and the jockey is 0-12 for the stable, so my money will be on SIR MAXIMILLIAN 11/2 who from stall 4 could sit just behind the leaders waiting to pounce at the business end of the race.

Sir Maximillian 10/1 2nd -1pt

YORK 5.25

A field of 20 here so very very hard to be sure what will happen concerning the draw, I think/hope those drawn high may have the advantage and will be betting accordingly, Mr Wagu 8/1 has been in tremendous form lately and could try to set the pace here but this is a step up in class so I'm not sure its up to winning this race but I do expect it to go well and could at least make the frame so I will have a covering bet on this one just in case it is improving enough to handle this higher class race, there isn't anything of value that I can find to lay in this race as they are all double figure prices so no lays but I will be having a small each way wager on SOUL SEEKER 16/1 who usually tracks the leaders and then stay on at the finish, it has good jockey stats and also a stall 17 draw might be advantageous so at the price it looks the value call.

LEICESTER 8.45

Only 7 runners but 4 of them have been known to lead, I will look to lay Cool Spirit 2/1 who may need further to show its best and looks poor value at the price so worth taking the risk of laying it, it has been known to lead but in longer distance races so it might get outpaced in the early stages of this race, Davids Beauty could do best of the front runners and will be hard to pass once hitting the front but with only 2 places its not worth going each way, my money will be riding on KATHERINE PLACE 13/2 who likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly in the final stages of the race so this race could be ideal for it.

1:35 Leicester Racing Tips (24th April)

LEICESTER 1.35

A field of 8 runners with just All You Wish having been known to lead but then only on sufferance but I couldn't back or lay this one, I would look to lay Newyorkstateofmind 5/1 who looks to be better over a shorter trip, Grey Galleon 9/1 maybe outclassed in this race but does come out 2nd best on just recent distance times and not of value to lay, Dancinginthewoods weakened over 7 furlongs so this trip could suit it, Little Boy Blue 11/4 has a fast time from back in 2019 but hasn't been near that level since then and the jockeys 0-5 record for the stable is a little off-putting and it might be worth laying at the price, the top weight ABLE KANE 2/1 has the top spot on recent distance form and a repeat of its Catterick time from last year would be good enough to see it winning this race.

Able Kane 7/2 2nd -1pt

RIPON 4.25

Only 6 runners and the early pace might be set by Desert Safari 2/1 but I'm doubtful it can lead all the way for the win but not sure enough of that to lay it, Citron Major maybe outclassed in this race, Fortamour likes to track the leaders but needs to improve time wise to win here, Mister Lupton is a hold up type but I think the race will be between Staxton who starts of as my top rated but the 5lb the apprentice claims riding MUSCIKA 7/2 moves this one to top spot and the jockey booking looks a positive making me think connections are expecting it to win.

HAYDOCK 5.40

Quite a poor race even for a class 5 race, there is a couple, Ustath and Spirit Power, that like like to set the pace, the former can struggle at the distance if its a fast early pace while the latter prefers some cut in the ground, both Dana Forever 7/2 and Production 7/2 race as though a longer distance would be beneficial so maybe worth laying i have a negative stat against every horse in the race bar the one and that is CAMACHESS 11/1 who is having its first run on its favoured good to firm ground her and that could see it bounce back to form, it does handicap itself sometimes with tardy starts but it it a hold up type anyway so its not really a big problem but it will need a clear run when it makes its move to run on to win the race.

LEICESTER 2.35

Only 8 runners which I can split into 3 groups, there's a couple that could run ok but I'm not sure they can win the race, then I've got 4 that i would look to lay if of any value, 9/1 or less (Strong Power + Able Kane + Sycamore + Honore Daumier) which leaves the two i will be backing, HUMAN NATURE 8/1 is top rated if I go back to its best time from 2018 and to be honest its not had many races since then under ideal conditions so could bounce back to form here if allowed an easy lead as its the only known front running type in the race but I will also back the horse top rated on 2020 times and that's HOLDENHURST 8/1 who likes to track the pacesetters and then stay on strongly at the finish.

The early pace in this race could be set by Dark Shot and Equiano Springs wont let it have its own way at the head of the race, Tathmeen comes out 3rd best on my figures and usually race in midfield before trying to stay on at the finish, my top 2 are only separated by 1lb on my ratings so I will be backing them both, INDIAN SOUNDS 6/4 and NORTH WIND 6/1 they both like to track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish and being so closely rated it may come down to which one of them gets the clearest run in the race.

3:00 Leicester Racing Tips & Lay Bets (10th August)

LEICESTER 3.00

A race where there's four 3yo plus others that are lightly raced but according to the forecast tissue prices most are not fancied in the betting, I will look to lay 3 horses (Dreamboat Annie + Aghast + Wiff Waff) I've got Rinty Maginty as my 2nd top-rated on just 2020 times and 3rd top overall so it could go well, Dahik comes out 2nd top overall using its best time from 2019 at Redcar but this one could set the early pace and maybe enough to at least make the frame and I might even have a small covering bet on this one just in case it can lead all the way but it hasn't really shown much so far this year so my main bet will be HARRY'S RIDGE 9/2 who has finished 2nd on its last 2 runs and 3rd the race before that so is in good form and has been found a good opportunity here to get back to winning ways.

LEICESTER 3.30

For a class 5 affair this looks a decent race and to be honest, I cannot find anything to confidently lay which doesn't happen very often, Mr Wagyu looks the most likely pacesetter but is only 5th top-rated but could do better than that if allowed an easy lead, the 3yo Alben Spirit is 4th best with Commander Han in 2nd spot and they both like to track the leaders, another 3yo has caught my eye and ONE NIGHT STAND 11/2 actually comes out top rated using a time recorded over this c/d but it's not won a race in 8 attempts and the trainer is 0-6 here and the jockey 0-4 for this stable and this is enough to worry me and therefore I will also back QUEEN OF BURGUNDY 11/1 who is my 2nd top-rated and is dropped in class to run here.

One Night Stand 11/2 6th (-1pt)

CHESTER 6.30

A nice Listed race but I will admit this isn't a favourite course of mine and the draw can be the kiss of death if drawn high but the jockeys know this and if the rails are cut back in the home straight then they all have a chance if racing prominently, I would lay (Judicial) who might find the trip too far if there's a fast early pace which I do expect and I think it will be won from the front, some drawn nearer the rail might change their usual tactics and try to lead but hopefully they won't be fast enough to stop either, MAJOR JUMBO 7/2 from stall 6 and this one has a time from 2018 that would see it winning but hasn't been at that level in recent times but this will be its first run of the year over this distance on hopefully good to firm ground, or EMARAATY ANA 4/1 from stall 9 from leading and if getting to the front they could be hard to catch.

2:25 Newcastle Racing Tips (2nd August)

NEWCASTLE 2.25

Only 8 runners but a competitive affair, the two 3yo’s look unfancied in the tissue betting which is helpful and one of them Rayong, along with Graphite could be ones to lay, races as though this trip might be too far for it, if DANZENO 5/1 can reproduce its best time from Chelmsford onto this Tapeta surface it would win the race and I will back it, but I will have to back YAFTA 4/1 as it could possibly lead all the way here as its the only known frontrunning type in the race and if getting to the front should prove very hard to catch, the trainer has a 30% win ratio with all the stables horses at this course with 7 winners from 23 runners and its record is 2-4 with their older horses, while the jockey has a 22% with 6 winners from 27 rides so everything points to connections expecting to win this race and will be carrying my money.

LEICESTER 5.10

You might have gathered with sprint races, plus it makes logical sense if you think about it, I love frontrunners and this race could well be won from the front, there's few lightly raced sorts so any stakes cannot be at full strength but I will look to lay (Aquadabra + Undercover Brother + Big Time Maybe), Cool Strutter is my 4th top-rated and its best time was from this year over this c/d which has to count for something, Alba Del Sole comes out 3rd best while my 2nd top-rated is Dahik, all 3 of them like to track the leaders and then stay on at the finish, there's 3 known frontrunners and I think if THEGREYVTRAIN 20/1 (EW) does get to the front it will prove hard to catch and its best time came from Bath this year and has good trainer/jockey stats, I am surprised its such a big price so I will have an each-way punt on it.

3:55 Pontefract Racing Tips & Lay Bets (7th July)

PONTEFRACT 3.55

The type of sprint that I hate as there are no known frontrunners in the race, it makes analyst very hard and I try to go through every scenario imagining each horse in turn leading. I will look to lay (*True Mason 1point + Shawaamekh 1point) I am not sure Walhaan will like the going, if it is good to firm, and may need further so it ought to be on my lay list but this 4-year-old could still improve also Golden Apollo won't be at happy if it is fast going and should also be on my list of lays in this race, George Bowen is my 3rd top-rated but has been in poor form lately, Watchable is my 2nd top-rated on 2019/20 times but does have a time from 2018 that would make it my top-rated by 1lb, but was nowhere near that level last year so my money will be riding on SUMMERGHAND 6/4 1point win who recorded its best time this year at Newmarket and has finished 2nd on its last 2 runs and has been found a good opportunity to go one better here.

Summerghand 5/4 1st (+1.5pts)

Lay bets: Shawaamekh +1pt

Total: +2.5pts

PONTEFRACT 4.30

There's a few to lay here, (Mutanaaseq 2points + Jewel Maker 2points + Sheepscar Lad 2points + Henley 2points + Avenue Of Stars 1point) as for finding the winner I will be backing *MR WAGYU 5/1 who is the only known frontrunner in the race, it has the 2nd best speed figure for 2020 and the 2nd top figure overall if using its best 2018 time so could be dangerous if allowed an easy lead and it could steal the race from the front, MUTABAAHY 8/1 has poor jockey/trainer stats but has the fastest time for 2020, EPEIUS 7/1 has an interesting jockey booking and its time from 2019 would make it my top-rated, ROUND THE ISLAND 9/1 has the fastest time overall if using just 2019/20 times and the trainer does well at this course, I will go with dutching the 4 selections with 1point win on each of them.

*NR

Round The Island 9/1 2nd (-1pt)
Epeius 7/1 5th  (-1pt)
Mutabaahy  10/1 6th (1pt)

Lay bets: Avenue Of Stars -3.5pts, Muntaaseq +2pts, Jewel Maker +2pts, Sheepscar Lad +2pts, Henley +2pt

Total: +2.5pts

LEICESTER 8.15

This isn't a race I would normally bother with but there is only one known front runner in TEEPEE TIME 5/1 and it was beaten, after leading, by ALBA DEL SOLE 4/1 and on the revised weights for this race it should be much closer than the 2 lengths in their last race and I think the race should be at the mercy of these two so I will back them both.

Alba Del Sol 4/1 1st (+4pts)
Teepee Time 5/1 4th (-1pt)

1:30 Doncaster Racing Tips & Lay Bets (29th June)

DONCASTER 1.30

A 9 runner race with a couple of known frontrunners, I will look to lay (Big Lachie) who may struggle to stay the trip with a fast early pace, Mutabaahy has a 0-18 trainer stat at this course which puts me off its chances, Archimedes is another with a poor trainer stat of 0-45 but I only look at win stats so they could still make the frame, MR WAGYU 4/1 is one of the frontrunners and if it is good to firm going it could prove hard to catch and if reproducing its best 2018 time it could well hold on but on just 2019/20 times it might get caught and my top rated is DOUBLE UP 7/2 a hold-up type who will be staying on strongly at the finish.

Double Up 11/2 5th (-1pt)
Mr Wagyu 4/1 6th (-1pt)

Lay bets: Big Lachie -5pts

Total: -7pts

DONCASTER 2.00

This class 3 race looks very competitive and I cannot find anything of value to put up as a lay, there are several that could make the frame if running to their best but I will be backing FLAVIUS TITUS 22/1 (EW) who at first glance hasn’t shown much in its two runs this year but its run at Newmarket was in a fast run race and a class higher than today so hopefully the drop in class will see it back to winning ways and at the price on offer I have to give it as an each-way punt.

Flavius Titus 22/1 9th (-2pts)

Total -2pts

MUSSELBURGH 2.45

Not a race to be betting in too heavily especially as there are no known frontrunners in the line-up, I would look to lay (Economic Crisis who looks better in lower class races and Amazing Grazing who may need further to show its best form and this might no be run to suit it) I wouldn’t put anyone off who fancies Desert Ace but its best time was back in 2017 and would need to reproduce that to win if my top-rated runs to its best, I will be backing BASHIBA 9/1 (EW) who will hopefully be a big enough price to back each way.

Bashiba 9/1 3rd* (-2pts)

Lay bets: Economic Crisis +1pt, Amazing Grace +1pt

Total 0pts

LEICESTER 5.15

This is a dire class 6 race and stakes should be kept low if the poor recent form was a guarantee of how bad they would run I could lay quite a few of these but I will be laying 3 runners (Alba Del Sole + Furni Factors + Storm Lightning) three runners ran against each other just 5 days ago, Tilsworth Rose led but faded into 4th, while Teepee Time finished 7th but its usual running style is from the front but missed the kick that day and could go better if leading here but I will be having a few pennies on MONARCH MAID 9/2 who finished 5th in that race but didn't get a clear run when it tried to make its effort and hopefully it can make amends here.

Monarch Maid 6/1 8th (-1pt)

Lay bets: Alba Del Sol -8.5pts, Furni Factors +1pt, Storm Lightning +1pt

Total -7.5pts

1:45 Haydock Racing Tips & Lay Bets (25th June)

PLEASE READ

Today they get the going wrong again, neither Hamilton nor Haydock was good and good to soft in places which enforces why you should check the going with your own eyes before having a bet.

HAYDOCK 1.45

A very competitive class 2 sprint and i do hope the going is good or firmer, i will look to lay 3 horses that all might struggle to stay the distance if theres a fast early pace (*Camacho Chief + Top Breeze + Celsius) i would lay others but only if the going is good to firm, i will still have to dutch 3 runners in an attempt to find the winner, BURIDAN 10/1 (EW)  is my 3rd top rated but only 3lbs below my top rated and this one might be the one that sets the pace so worth an each way punt at the price, BARBILL 14/1 (EW) is 2nd top rated on my own unique speed figures, this one has good jockey stats with a 29% win rate on the stables older horses but the trainers record is 0-20 at this course with their older horses so not sure what to expect but again maybe worth an each way bet at the price, my top rated is *STAXTON 10/1 (EW) so another worth an each way wager who recorded a good time on its last run at Newmarket so even though it finished 7th it showed its in decent form, so i will be dutching the 3 selections with each way bets.

*NR

Barbill 14/1 1st EW +16.8pts
Buridan 25/1 EW  6th (-2pts)

Lay bets: Top Breeze +1pt, Celsius +1pt

Total 16.8pts

LEICESTER 4.55

If the going is good to firm then I would lay both Burtonwood and Atyaaf, Teepee Time is the likely pacesetter and my 3rd top rated and could do enough to make the frame, Qaaraat is my 2nd top-rated and this one has been running well of late without winning and I'm not sure its one to rely on with any certainty, the one I think is probably the value call is MONARCH MAID 7/1 who will be staying on strongly at the finish and hopefully strong enough to register the win.

Monarch Maid 9/1 5th (-1pts)

Total -1pt

BATH 5.10

There's plenty of early pace on show in this dash but I think they will be setting the race up for a finishing type, maybe Coronation Cottage will do best of those at the head of affairs and could even stay long enough to make the frame, Essaka is my 2nd top-rated and will be staying on at the finish, I will be backing the topweight INDIAN SOUNDS 5/2 who finished 2nd last time out and this is a drop-in class and has what looks a positive jockey booking and it should be able to go one better here.

Indian Sounds 5/2 1st (+2.5pts)

Total +2.5pts

LEICESTER 5.55

I will look to lay (Requinto Dawn) who can find this trip a bit too far for it, there is a niggle in this race with no known frontrunners but I guess something will change its usual tactics and go off from the front, Case Key is my 3rd top-rated and likes to track the leaders, Mutabaahy is my 2nd top-rated but this one is a hold-up type who likes to come with a late rattle but again my money will be riding on the topweight COOL SPIRIT 33/1 (EW) who has had a run this month to hopefully blow the cobwebs away and now dropped in class it can get back to winning ways and I am amazed at the price on offer so an each-way bet at such a big price.

Cool Spirit 50/1 9th (-2pts)

Total -2pts

Total on the day: +16.3pts

4:00 Chepstow Racing Tips (22nd August)

CHEPSTOW 4.00 (7.5)

Rather surprisingly there's only one known frontrunner in this 5 furlong race unless one of the 3-year-olds adopt that tactic which means any stakes will be kept on the low side of things, Secret Potion and Compton Poppy are capable of running decent races but my top 2 ratings are Spot Lite who is top on just 2019 times and 2nd top on overall times but its losing run of 14 does put me off somewhat, if they decide to let *JAGANORY 12/1 set the pace here it could lead all the way especially with an easy lead, its best time of 2018 was recorded over this c/d although it hasn't shown much so far this year it hasn't had ideal conditions before so I'm hoping today is the day it get backs to winning ways.

* NR

LEICESTER 8.00 (8.2)

There's only 1 frontrunner in this race but this one is over 6 furlongs, Scuzeme is that horse and its 4th best on my figures and could easily make the frame if allowed to set the pace, Evening Attire is 3rd best but only by 1lb so would need a perfect run to make the frame if others reproduce their best, I've got joint top-rated horses here, Mutabaahy isn't well drawn in stall 11 and its on a losing run of 19 which tilts me into siding with LUCKY BEGGAR 7/1 in this race, this one does like real good to firm going and if getting the right conditions it will be carrying my money.
