6:30 Wolverhampton Racing Tips (2nd October)

WOLVERHAMPTON 6.30

In this race I will look to lay both Stalingrad 11/2 who is still a maiden after 11 races but has made the frame in 7 of those races so maybe its a weak finisher and Alcazan 4/1 who races as though a longer distance would suit it better and its 2 runs over this course and distance have both resulted in slow times. I very often mention the make-up of a race and how I analyse each race and this is a race where I will go through my thinking of how the race could pan out if all the horses run to their usual racing tactics, in my opinion if you don't analyse each horse then they might throw a spanner in your works and then when you analyse why you lot you see a glaringly obvious mistake, isn't hindsight a wonderful thing, but without all the hard work needed you cannot make a long term profit, one that will be carrying some of my money is CANFORD BAY 8/1 who likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish and comes out top rated on this years speed figures, stall 10 of 11 doesn't look ideal but here goes my analysis, I think that FREEDOM FLYER 12/1 from stall 4 will be able to get out and grab control on the rails as it is my joint 2nd top rated and if it gets an easy lead could hold on for the win as there is only 1lb between my top two ratings, I think Seeking Perfection from stall 7 will also try to get to the front and vie for the lead but it needs to improve on the clock to win this race, stall 8 horse is well out of form and usually runs on at the finish and the stall 9 horse usually races in midfield so Canford Bay can get out smartly and then follow the stall 7 horse across to the rails without much resistance from the 2 horses drawn nearest to it on its inside and sit just behind the leaders ready to pounce and I am backing them both to cover the angles of a front running type and one that comes from behind the leaders.

WOLVERHAMPTON 7.00

Half the runners in this race are 3yo’s but only Giorgio Vasari and Nelson Gay are known as front running types but I doubt they will hold on for the win although the latter is my 4th top rated and could be dangerous if allowed an easy lead, I will look to lay Caroline Dale 7/1 as it looks better over a shorter distance, Temple Bruer is my 3rd top rated but has a tendency to be slowly away and if doing so here it might struggle to make the frame, the bottom weight Tathmeen comes out in 2nd top spot and is usually held for for a late run and it will be hoping a gap appears along the fence as its got the stall one draw, my money will be riding on EL HOMBRE 5/1 who can be held up or track the leaders and from stall 9 I'm hoping it can follow Giorgio Vasari in stall 8 towards the rail and then get a good position from which to attack in the latter stages of this race.

2:40 Newmarket Winning Racing Tips (18th September)

NEWMARKET 2.40

I'm hoping the going is good or better here, the course does dry out quickly as its a chalky area so please tread carefully and watch an earlier race if possible to see what the going is like. In this race I will look to lay Beauty Choice 8/1 who might prefer a longer distance than today's to show its best but this should be a fast run affair which should suit it, Equiano Springs 8/1 is one of the two known front running types in this race and it comes out 3rd best on my figures so could make the frame and worth an each way interest, TOUSSARAK 5/2 is the other likely pacesetter and comes out 2nd best on my figures using a time recorded at Goodwood and if getting to the front could prove hard to pass and does have good trainer/jockey stats and has to have some chance especially if my top rated horse WORLD OF WINDHOVER 11/4 doesn't repeat its best time, which it recorded at Yarmouth, over this completely different kind of course so I will be backing both of them to cover the angles.

Tussarak 5/2 4/1 5th -1pt
World Of Windhover 18/5 6th -1pt

WOLVERHAMPTON 4.55

A poor class 6 race even by All-Weather standards but hopefully I've found a gem amidst the dirt, I have marked down both *Iesha and Big Impact as possible lays and are forecast to be single prices in the betting there are other possible lays but I expect them to be outsiders in this field, Blue Cable is my 4th top rated using a 2021 time, Jungle Inthebungle comes out 3rd best using a 2020 time, in 2nd top spot is Bernards Spierpoint but this ones best time wasn't done on this surface, THAKI 7/4 is my top rated and the only known front runner in the race and if getting to the front it ought to prove uncatchable and the trainer and jockey stats hopefully point to the stable expecting it to win here, the price is pants but a reproduction of its last win would see it winning a shade cosily.

WOLVERHAMPTON 6.00

A strange looking race with just the one known front runner in the field, I will look to lay Strong Power 10/1 and Show Me A Sunset 11/1 if they are single price figures in the betting, so I'm hoping they are backed a little, the main strange thing is that its impossible to narrow it down to a one horse conclusion so it looks like I will be dutching 3 horses in this race, SEEKING PERFECTION 14/1 who is the front running type and could go well especially if allowed an easy lead and is my 3rd top rated,*TATHMEEN 10/1 is 2nd top rated on just 2021 times and with the apprentice jockeys 5lb claim it moves to top rated on my overall figures but only 1lb above *CANFORD BAY 9/2 who is top rated on just 2021 times so I will go with a win bet and two each way bets.

4:55 Pontefract Racing Tips (4th August)

PONTEFRACT 4.55

A 7 runner race with one known front runner in Stay Smart and could go well with an easy lead, apart from Runninwild the rest have bits of form that are closely rated on my figures and I cannot say much about any of them, I will be backing CANFORD BAY 5/1 who can be held up for a late run or track the leaders and then stay on the stronger at the finish but it has poor trainer/jockey stats which worries me so any stakes will be kept on the low side.

Canford Bay 3rd -1pt

Total -1pt

YARMOUTH 5.15

This is a class 6 race and its very hard to analyse to much of a conclusion, I'm not sure I could put up any lays with any confidence so I think the way to go in this race is with dutching 3 horses, CAZEVA PRINCESS 13/2 is one of the 2 known front running types in the race and comes out 2nd top rated using just 2021 times over this distance but the jockeys 0-3 record isn't great, KNOCKABOUT QUEEN 7/2 is the one that comes out top rated on just 2021 times but the jockeys 0-12 record for the stable doesn't fill me with confidence, top rated using a 2020 time is LINCOLN RED 5/1 but this one has poor trainer 0-10 record with their older horses and the jockey is 1-28 so my stakes will be kept low.

Knockabout Queen 7/1 5th -1pt
Lincoln Red 11/1 6th -1pt
Cazeva Princess 12/1 7th -1pt

Total -3pts

PONTEFRACT 5.30

In this race I will look to lay Dream Together who prefers good to firm going but I doubt that will happen here and even if it does it would still need to improve time wise to win this race, the bottom weight Mr Orange comes out 3rd best on my figures but has been in poor form recently, OBEE JO 8/1 is my top rated using just 2021 times and has good trainer/jockey stats and with the jockeys 5lb claim it moves to top spot, my original top rated was/is *HIGHLY SPRUNG 4/1 who will try to lead all the way and it might get to the front on its own looking at the make-up of this race and with an easy lead it could prove very hard to catch and I will back them both to cover the angles.

*NR

Obee Jo 8/1 3rd -1pt

Total -1pt

YARMOUTH 8.15

An 8 runner race where 5 of them have been known to lead before so the question is, will they go off too fast and fade nearing the finish? I hope not, but if all 5 of the front runners do fade then Clashaniska 5/1 could be the one to prosper but I hope not and I will back two horses one that's top rated on 2021 times, SHESADABBER 6/1, and HAVEONEYERSELF 10/3 who is top rated using a time recorded over this course and distance in 2020 and this one has a decent jockey record on this stables older horses.

5:00 Wolverhampton Racing Tips & Lay Bets (2nd July)

END OF THE MONTH REPORT:

There's been a few big bumps along the road this month, mainly due to the fact all of the horses were not race fit but some of the lesser horses being fitter. The big priced lays that won are very unusual and friends also say they have noticed a lot more big-priced winners this month than usual, so when things will get back to normal I won’t expect many more, if any, to crop up and I have to say this month has been very stressful. The aim has always been to make a long term profit and as usual, I have delivered, the final figure for the month is a profit of 31.55 points. It is certainly not easy keeping in profit, certainly timewise, as it takes over an hour to analyse each race properly and that’s before I write my shorthand notes into something that is understandable for those that read the webpage each day. I hope you enjoy these blogs and I that some of you are making a profit in one way or another from them.

WOLVERHAMPTON 5.00

MAGIC J hasn't any form on this surface, its 3 runs on an AW surface has resulted in 2 placed efforts and I think it will need further to show its best but not enough for me to lay it.

THE DALEY EXPRESS is one of the four that has a chance of winning in this race, its back down to an official rating of 80 which was its last winning mark so it could be an each-way bet.

SAVALAS would need to improve timewise to win this race, it is a possible frontrunner but I might not be good enough to lead here.

WILD EDRIC has only 3 runs at this distance and may need further to show its best but even then it's not one I could lay but stall 9 isn't ideal in the make-up of this race.

JUMIRA BRIDGE has relatively slow times to its name and may need further or a slower surface and maybe both so one I would look to lay.

JUST THAT LORD has been known to lead and stall 3 might be ideal in this race and could be hard to catch if getting to the front.

CANFORD BAY is versatile in its racing tactics but will need a degree of luck from stall 10 but if things fall its way then it could win this race.

JUST GLAMOROUS has one run at this c/d to its name but it was a poor effort and I don't think this surface suits it as its best rating is from Lingfield so another possible lay.

ANOTHER ANGEL could battle for the lead but it may struggle to get a clear run in the early stages which may scupper its chance of winning.

TABAAHY has got both good trainer and jockey stats but has never won from this official rating and looks better in a class lower races so maybe worth a lay if any value.

SUMMARY: Quite a tricky race where I will look to lay (Jumira Bridge 2 points lay + Just Glamorous 1 point lay + Tabaahy 2 points lay) there's Magic J and Savalas that very nearly made it on my lay list, I will have to dutch 3 runners in this race, firstly JUST THAT LORD 10/1 (EW) who might be able to gain control of the rails and then be hard to pass but just in case they go off too fast and fade nearing home then I will cover the angles by backing CANFORD BAY 14/1 (EW) who could stay on strongly at the finish to take advantage at the price I will go with an each-way bet on both.

PS: the idea is to try and make a profit from each race so with 5 points on the lays and 1 point each way on the 2 win bets I will make 1 point profit as long as none of the lays win and anything more is a bonus.

Canford Bay 16/1 5th (-2pts)
Just That Lord 18/1 8th (-2pt)

12:15 Doncaster Racing Tips & Lay Bets (26th June)

DONCASTER 12.15

Div1 There are quite a few of these runners who are out of form, Kick On Kick On, North Wind, Jumira Bridge, James Watt, and Marks Choice and could be lays if the going is good to firm plus there's plenty of early paced sorts in the race so I will look to lay (National Anthem + Abel Handy) who both like to lead but maybe not able to do so here, if Merry Banter gets to the front it could prove hard to catch for most of these, Choosey could try to lead but its best time was back in 2018, my money will be riding on FREE LOVE16/1 (EW)  who can either track the leaders or be held up for a late run and with plenty of early pace this race should be run to suits its style of racing and maybe worth backing each way.

Free Love 16/1 (EW) +2.2pts

DONCASTER 12.45 Div2

As often the case I will start with those I will look to lay, (Saluti + Lathom + Jawwaal) I think the early pace will be set by Harome, in stall 9 and/or Wrenthorpe in stall 1, either could do enough to make the frame on a going day, my selection is CANFORD BAY 14/1 (EW) who can be held up or track the leaders and from stall 9 should get a good tow into the race and then prove the stronger at the finish and its a big enough price to have an each-way wager.

Canford Bay 14/1 6th (-2pts)

Lay bets: Jawwaal -3.5pts, Saluti +1pt, Lathom +1pt

NEWMARKET 1.10

This is a very competitive class 4 race and I will start with those I don't fancy and will look to lay (Chitra + Secretinthepark + Colonel Frank + *Machree + Erissimus Maximus + Excellent George) the early pace could well be set by PINK FLAMINGO 12/1 (EW) who starts off as my 2nd top-rated but the apprentices 7lb claim moves it to top spot but I know very little about them so not sure what to expect but if worth their 7lb claim then that could swing things in their favour but if not I will also have to back LINE OF REASON 12/1 (EW) who can be held up or track the leaders and will hopefully prove the stronger at the business end of the race but at the prices I will be having two each way punts.

4:50 Newcastle Racing Tips & Lay Bets (19th February)

NEWCASTLE 4.50

Only 7 runners to analyse with just 2 (Alsvinder 5/1 + Charming Kid 12/1) to lay, I would add Tathmeen 3/1 favourite to the list of lays if its trainer didn't have another runner in the race although im 99% sure this class is too much for it, War Whisper hasnt any c/d form to its name but has won on good to firm ground on grass so should like this surface and could be a hidden danger, both Foxy Forever and Fendale could go well here, the former hasnt won over this c/d from 6 previous attempts so im not sure it will do enough to win the race but not sure enough to lay it, the latter has a time from 2018 that would see it winning the race but its best from 2019 would see it fall short, my money will be riding on CANFORD BAY 10/3 and the apprentice jockeys 7lb claim could be the deciding factor in this race, it is versatile with its racing tactics and if getting to the front it ought to prove pretty hard to catch.

KEMPTON 7.30

This is a tricky little race with just 7 runners, I will be laying 2 horses, (Thegreatestshowman 5/1+ Concierge 9/2) Treacherous won nicely last time out but timewise it wasn't the greatest and its best time from 2019 still leaves it just outside my top 3 but is in cracking form and cannot be discarded easily, Last Page is well weighted on its best form/time but mainly in slightly easier races, Bungee Jump hasn't any recent c/d form to its name while its best time from 2018 would still leave it out of the frame if all others run to their best, Junius Brutus has been running fairly well in class 2 races but is on a losing run of 12 race and a drop in class is maybe needed for it to shine again but never say never, the topweight EL HOMBRE 4/1 has also been running in better races than this one and it has good trainer 20% and jockey 22% winning strike rates and will be the one carrying my money.

3:10 Wolverhampton Racing Tips & Lay Bets (19th January)

WOLVERHAMPTON 3.10

There's 3 known front-running types in this race but none of them are in my top 4 ratings so they will probably set the race up for a finishing type, Foxy Forever and Dynamo Walt is my joint 4th top-rated horses and both like to track the leaders, REFLEKTOR 9/1 is my 3rd top-rated and has good trainer/jockey stats and it could get a good tow into the race from stall 6 with stalls 5 and 7 having usually fast starters in them, my 2nd top-rated TATHMEEN 9/2 and CANFORD BAY 5/1 my top-rated are from the same stable and I am doubtful that they will both be triers (the old cynical me rearing its head) and I cannot work out which one of them will be the fancied one so I have to back them both, then if neither are good enough then my other selection could prosper, so I will be dutching all 3 of them, there's nothing I can see to lay confidently and its a competitive affair so my stakes won't be at full power.

Canford Bay 5/1 1st

Total = (+3pts)

WOLVERHAMPTON 3.40

If Carla Koala is allowed to set its own slower pace it could go well but Murqaab has also been known to lead before so I cannot see that happening and again the winner looks likely to come from off the pace, I will look to lay Alba Del Sole and Sharrabang who both might need further to show their best, Kyllukey is 4th top-rated using its best time from 2018, Blackcurrant is in 3rd top spot but is still a maiden after a dozen runs, Red Allure is still a maiden but this ones had 17 winless attempts, my top rated is well drawn in stall 2 so should be able to get a good early position from which to attack nearing the finish but AUTUMN SPLENDOUR 5/1 is on a losing run of 18 which is a little off-putting but the jockey does have a reasonable 15% win rate for this stable so let's hope that's a good pointer.

5:45 Wolverhampton - Free Horse Racing Tips (3rd November)

WOLVERHAMPTON 5.45

A nice but very competitive class 4 race with six of the eleven runners having led before.

It should be fast and furious!

There are only 4lbs between my top seven ratings so the winner will need a clear run.

Zapper Cass and Secretfact are my joint 4th top-rated, in 3rd top spot is Three Little Birds who has a good chance to make the frame. It won three and been placed in six other races from eleven on the AW tracks but none of this trio is known for front running.

I've got joint top-rated horses in Abel Handy who recorded its best time on this surface but at Newcastle and hasn't shown much recently.

The other joint top rated is CANFORD BAY 8/1, trained by Antony Brittain, who is versatile when it comes to its racing tactics and probably won't try to lead but try to sit just behind the pacesetters ready to pounce late on. This one has won twice and been placed in seven other races from fourteen runs.

Canford Bay 8/1 2nd

WOLVERHAMPTON 6.15

A class 6 stakes race with six of the thirteen runners being 3yo’s. None of these are in my top four ratings.

I think the early pace will be set by Tobeeornottobee, who is just outside my top four ratings.

In the fourth top spot is Mansfield who showed an upturn in fortunes when finishing second last time out. However, this gelding hasn't won in twenty previous attempts on the AW tracks.

The third spot I've got Brockey Rise who should stay on at the finish. The jockey's 0-15 record for this stable is a little off-putting.

Flora Triston is joint top-rated using its best 2018 time. She hasn't been near that level so far this year and hasn't won in fifteen attempts on the AW tracks.

The one I will be backing is BILLYOAKES 8/1. A hold-up type and drawn in stall six (6) isn't too bad in the make-up of this race. With a clear run, I could see Ollie Pear's charge picking up the frontrunners at the finish.

Billyokas 8/1 5th

4:40 Newcastle Racing Tips (24th October)

NEWCASTLE 4.40

With 4 possible pace setters this could be a fast run race but my top 3 ain't known as front-runners, Duke Cosimo 3rd top and will be staying on as it looks as though he prefers a longer trip so this race could be run to suit, Fredricka 2nd top rated and can be held up or track the pace but top rated is INDIAN PURSUIT 5/1 who will be staying on strongly at this trip, the trainer has a 14% win rate here and the jockey a 21% win ratio on this stables older horses.

Indian Pursuit 16/1 Unp
NEWCASTLE 5.10
Another race where the 5 possible pacesetters could set the race up for a finishing type, Hilary J is my 3rd top rated and the best of those trying to lead also the 3year old Liberatum could be dangerous if getting an easy lead, POPPY IN THE WIND 14/1 is my 2nd top rated and the trainer-jockey stats are reasonable, my top rated is CANFORD BAY 7/2 but the jockey has a relatively poor 1-28 record for the stable which is a little off-putting and the price definitely isn't value so I will go with backing them both to small stakes but probably favouring the place part of Poppy In The Wind.

Poppy In The Wind 20/1 6th
Canford Bay 4/1 4th
KEMPTON 8.15
This race is quite hard to analyse too much of a conclusion, there are 4 possible pacesetters and maybe INLAWED 9/2 may do best with them, its a 3 year old drawn in stall 3 so could get control of the rails and prove hard to catch so has to be a contender especially when the jockey has a 28% win ratio for the stable, BIG LACHIE 14/1 is 2nd top and will be staying on strongly at the finish as it looks as though further would suit it better, top spot goes to Treacherous* another 3 year old and this one likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly, obviously the top-rated should have the best chance of winning but in the make-up of this race I want to cover all angles and back the 3 of them to show a profit whichever way turns out best.
PS* Treacherous is now a non-runner so I will go with backing the other 2

Inlawed 9/2 1st

Big Lachie 14/1 4th YARMOUTH 5.00
I doubt the going will be good or better but just in case it is then here goes, there are no known pacesetters in the race which doesn't help, I make the race between COMMANCHE 14/1 and STRICTLY CARTER 7/1 who both usually race by tracking the leaders, JUSTICE ROCK 14/1 is my other selection and this one is usually held up for a late run but the race may not be run to suit its style if it's a slow early pace so I will look to back all 3 to show a profit whichever one does the business.

Commanche 25/1 5th
Strictly Carter 14/1 Unp
