2:00 Lingfield Racing Tips (5th March)

LINGFIELD 2.00 

I am not sure what to expect from Zargun who hasn't raced in the UK before but it did run in Group 3 races but hasn't won a race since 2018 so I will leave it alone, the early pace might be set by Recon Mission who comes out in 3rd top position, in 2nd top spot I've got Total Commitment who likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly at the finish but my money will be riding on COUNT OTTO 3/1 (1 Point Win) who has the plum stall 1 draw and has won 3 times over this c/d.

Only 6 runners and the early pace may be set by Dapper Man in this race and if getting to the front it could prove had to catch if it can reproduce its best time from 2018 but its best time from 2020 isn't that far off the same level so could go well but if BUNIANN 2/1 (1 Point Win) reproduces its best time which it did record this year it would see it winning this race a little cosily.

Quite a tricky class 6 race, Epeius would be in the mix if using times from 2018/19 but hasn't been in good form lately, Griggy, Kilconquhar, Billy Wedge, Wicklow Warrior and Kroy all have snippets of form that could see them contest to make the frame but i will be going with 2 selections in this race, STAR CRACKER 28/1(1/2 Point Each Way) could be the one to set the pace here and if putting its best hoof forward could lead all the way but its a little bit too inconsistent to be having just the one bet so I will also back ATRAFAN 11/2 (1 Point Win) who is top rated on recent c/d figures.

There are 3 horses that have been known to lead so it should be a true run race and it looks a very competitive affair, the top weight Asad could be an interesting runner as it has led and won over 7 furlongs before and this is its 1st race over today's 6 furlongs, the other 2 front runners, Gunmetal and Spartan Fighter could also go well, Athoillblair Boy will win a race somewhere this year but only wins one or possibly 2 races per year, Ghathanfar is usually held up for a late run and could get a good tow into the race being drawn in stall 2 with a fast starter either side of it, top rated on my figures is HART STOPPER 17/2 (1 Point Win) who has 1 win and 1 place from its 3 previous runs over this c/d and could go well now refreshed after a short break.

NEWCASTLE 8.15 

This is a nice looking race for a class 6 affair with 3 known front runners amongst the field of 9 over the minimum distance, Rebel Redemption looks to want further and might be worth laying, Harrogate could do best of those coming from off the pace if bouncing back to form as it hasn't shown much lately, Manumission was a beaten favourite last time it ran but would need to improve time wise on its best Wolverhampton time to win this race although this is its debut over this c/d, Van Gerwen a possible pacesetter who comes out 2nd best on a time from 2020 may need this run for fitness, Swiss Connection can possibly lead and comes out 3rd top on my figures and would need to improve a few spots to win this race, that leaves me with ROCKLEY POINT 4/1 (2 Points Win) who is also a front runner and my top rated so if getting to the front could prove a hard nut to crack.

3:46 Lingfield Racing Tips (20th February)

LINGFIELD 3.46 

A field of 8 in a nice looking class 4 race, with a couple of front runners it should be a true run affair, one them Capla Spirit is drawn widest of all in stall 8 and this one needs to improve time wise to lead all the way, the top weight Raasel is the 7/4 favourite it has only ran 3 times, twice in 2019 winning once on g/s ground on grass and then 3rd in a class 3 race again on g/s ground, it could be head and shoulders above today's opposition but its not run on this course before and its time from Chelmsford wouldn't see it winning but it has potential so my stakes will be kept low for this race, Saaheq is my 3rd top rated and will be trying to stay on at the finish but maybe too late to catch the leader, in 2nd spot but only rated 1lb higher is Shamshon who likes to track the leaders and then keep on stoutly at the finish I’m hoping that ZULU ZANDER 6/1 can lead from stall 1 and being my top rated hold on for the win and looks the value call in the race.

If there's a fast early pace to this poor class 6 stakes race, which looks likely, then there's a few who may struggle to stay the distance but I think they will be too big to be of value to lay but i will put it up if any are worthwhile laying, I hope all 8 take part in case I find an each way wager when I see the betting, there is 2 known front runners in this race and they are my top two ratings, STAR CRACKER 4/1 is top rated on recent c/d times and has won 3 times over this c/d, the other front runner is DODGY BOB 10/1 who hasn't won from 4 attempts over this c/d but has a time from Wolverhampton, the same surface, that would put it 2lbs clear of my other selection, and this one also has what looks a positive jockey booking and I will go with backing them both.

I am not very confident with the analysis of this race, there is 4 known front running types in the race, drawn in stalls 3.6.7 and 8, and 2 of them are my top 2 ratings, which you would think would make my analysis easy but there is a few if’s, if they go off too fast then the one that could prosper is my 3rd top rated horse Primos Comet who usually stays on at the business end of a race, Longroom is my 2nd top rated and has won twice from its 8 previous c/d runs but the trainer has a fairly poor, 8%, win ratio at this course and the 3lb claiming apprentice jockey has an even poorer 0-6 record for the stable, my top rated is ROCKLEY POINT 10/1 (EW) who is a front runner and in stall 3 so it need not get into a head to head battle for the lead, it has been beaten but only just in this class of race and I'm hoping it is up to winning at this level and at the price is has to be an each way wager.

1:10 Southwell Racing Tips (28th January)

When I write these blogs I hope you don't just look at the selections in capital letters or the lays in brackets and underlined because you could be missing things that you could use to your advantage. I write these blogs two days before the race and I post the night before and things can change with non-runners and how the betting changes things so my ramblings might help your decision making. 

SOUTHWELL 1.10 

Just 8 runners with 3 known front running types who are drawn in the 3 inside stalls and its a race where i will have to back a front runner and one coming from off the pace just in case they go off too fast and tire nearing the finish,I think Alexej will be at the fore of the betting and I think mainly because its from the powerful stable of J.Gosden and the jockey R.Havlin but its runs from 2020 were all over further that the 6 furlongs here and stayed on at the finish so I'm surprised its dropped down in trip, obviously it could be a very superior horse compared to the rest and win despite it not being ideal conditions but I will lay it if a short price, I am hoping that ZYLAN 10/3 can get to the front and if doing so it could prove hard to catch being my 2nd top rated but I do have SHALLOW HAL 10/1 rated just 3lbs higher so may need a trouble free run to pick up the pacesetters hence the 2 bets, both have decent trainer stats and have good jockeys stats in fact their stats are identical and it looks as though both stables are expecting to win.

Down to 6 runners for this race but with 2 known front runners it should be a true run affair but both of the pacesetters would need to improve time wise to win this race, Ornate one of them has a good 2 wins and 3 placed efforts from just 5 c/d runs and the other King Of Stars has won twice from just 4 previous c/d runs, Giogiobbo may stay on at the finish but maybe too late to win the race, Diamond Dougal hasn't any course form but could take to this surface and be a hidden danger, Tawny Port is my 2nd top rated using a 2019 time but it hasn't any recent c/d form to work with, my money will be riding on THEGREATESTSHOWMAN 4/1 who is well handicapped and will be winning again soon and has every chance to do so here.

SOUTHWELL 4.25 

Up to 9 for this race but only one front running type in the shape of Gossip who is dangerous if allowed to set its own slightly slower pace and has won 2 of its 4 previous c/d races but there is a few who like to track or press the leader so maybe wont be able to pinch the race from the front, Marwari has a good time from Newastle but I'm not sure this surface will suit it, Pearl Of Qatar has good trainer/jockey stats and will be staying on at the finish but could struggle if its a slow run affair and if it wasn't for the good trainer/jockey stats i would lay it and if its a short price i might still lay it, the jockey has a 25% win ratio for the stable but it still means hes beaten in 3 out of every 4 races, i will be siding with ARZAAK 7/1 who can be held up or track the leaders and has won 3, placed 5 from 13 c/d runs so likes the course.

I was going to leave this class 6 stakes race well alone and I will only bet in the race if my selection is a double figure price, that horse is STAR CRACKER 10/1 who can spring back to form without warning and might be worth having a small risky each way bet if its of value

12:20 Southwell Racing Tips (17th November)

SOUTHWELL 12.20 5f Div I

There's 3 known front runners in this race, the top 3 in the handicap but its a low grade 6 affair, A Go Go from stall 9 might do best of them, Ustath has been in good form and comes out 2nd best on my figures but isn't big enough to back each way the same applies to Dark Side Dream who is a 3yo and my 3rd top rated, my money will be riding on AWAKE IN ASIA 14/1 (EW) who will be staying on strongly at the finish and with plenty of early pace in the race it might be run to suit it and looks worth an each way punt at the price.

There's no known front runners in this 2nd division which always makes a race hard to analyse, I've got joint 3rd top rated horses in Raabeh and Loulin but both of themes best time was recorded in 2019, in 2nd top spot is Time To Reason 12/1 and might be worth an each way punt but my money will be on BLUELLA 5/1 who will hope there's a decent early pace as it likes to stay on strongly at the finish.

The top weight Pearl Of Qatar is my 4th top rated and versatile when it comes to racing tactics, 3rd best on my figures is Global Humor who likes to track the leaders, Requited has a time from 2019 that would make it my top rated but its best from this year has been well below that level and its an outsider in the betting, i am hoping that KRAKA 7/1 from stall 9 can either lead or at least contest the lead and then prove hard to catch if getting to the front, it is my top rated on 2020 c/d times and 2nd top overall.

This 1st division is full of 3yo’s, seven in number and other lightly raced sorts and I was going to leave the race alone until I saw the betting, Kommander Kirkup 25/1 could be an each way bet if bouncing back to form, Kilconquaar is another that could go well but isn't really an each way price but I will be having a small each way punt on STAR CRACKER 14/1 (EW) who is a known front runner and could go better than the price suggests.

This 2nd division isn't much better with a limited amount of data to work with, Burtonwood has some form from last year and even better form from 2017 that would put it in the mix, Etikaal could also go well but I will be having a small bet on PHANTASMAL 9/1 (EW) and at the price it might be worth backing each way.

2:33 Southwell Racing Tips & Lay Bets (3rd November)

SOUTHWELL 2.33 

A nice looking 12 runner class 6 affair with 2 known front running types,I will look to lay (Nordic Fire 9/1+ *Vape 4/1) if they are in single figure prices, if they drift I would then back them to show a profit whatever the result , Kraka is one of the probable pacesetters and my 4th top rated overall but 2nd top on just 2020 c/d times, Pearl Of Qatar is top rated on just 2020 times but slips to 3rd best overall, Requited sits in 2nd top spot using a 2019 time and hasn't run over this c/d this year but top spot belongs to YOUNG JOHN 11/1 (EW) who is the other known front runner and if getting to the front then it could prove hard to catch and will be carrying my money as an each way wager.

I can find a few I could lay in this race but some are of no value but if in single figure prices i would look to lay (Thegreyvtrain 7/2 + Ustath 8/1) as I don't think this surface suits them, Kyllachy Warrior is my 3rd top rated with Amazing Amaya sitting in 2nd top spot but I'm hoping in this dash that HONEY GG 10/1 (EW) can get away smartly and if getting to the front it ought to prove hard to beat if its reproduces its best time from last year and at the price i have to give it as an each way punt.

SOUTHWELL 3.33 Div II

This is by far the better division and I will look to lay (Lord Of The Glen 7/4) who according to the tissue prices will be the favourite but I don't think this surface is one that shows it at its best so could be of value to lay, there's two known front runners in this division and they are also my top 2 ratings, ARCAVALLO 9/2 is 2nd top rated but only 2lbs below ARCHIMEDES 9/1 and either of them could win this race and if not going off too fast could have the race between themselves and I will be backing them both.

To tell the truth this race is poor and wont take much winning and with some 3yo’s and some lightly raced sorts its not a race to be betting too heavily in, Northern Charm is versatile with its racing tactics and is my 3rd top rated, Phantasmal comes out 2nd top rated and is usually held up for a late run and could make the frame meanwhile STAR CRACKER 16/1 (EW) has the same time as my 2nd top rated beast using just 2020 times but has a time from 2019 that is a few spots better and it could lead all the way here and worth an each way bet at the odds.

8:15 Newcastle Racing Tips and Lay Bets (13th October)

NEWCASTLE 8.15 

LUCKY BEGGAR can find six furlongs too far if there's a fast early pace but time wise it could possibly make the frame in this race with only one known front running type in the race.

ZEBULON is my 3rd top rating on just 2020 times and its best time from 2019 would move it into 2nd top rated overall so could get a place. 

KILCONQUHARa 3yo with a time from Wolverhampton in 2019 that would make it in with a chance of making the frame. 

GINA D’CLEANER this 3yo may prefer either a slower surface or a longer trip or maybe both so not for me in this race.

CARLOVIAN has only a slow time over this c/d and usually runs on at the finish but maybe too late to win this race.

HARRY'S RIDGE hasn't any c/d form to work with, it likes to track the leaders and stay on at the finish but has only 2 AW runs to its name so not sure what to expect but I'm doubting it will win.

ROSE BANDIT is a 3yo which to be honest has shown very little so far in any of its races and I think it will be a double figure price.

I’LL BE BRIEF is another with nothing of note to work with and I think this one will also be a double figure price so the betting will be the best guide to this ones chances.

STAR CRACKER is the only known front running type in the race, it won last time out and has been found a very good chance to follow up here and is my top rated on overall and 2020 times.

ONE ONE SEVEN has a time in 2019 from Wolverhampton that would make it my 2nd top rated on overall figures but has slow c/d times so far this year.

CECE CEYLAN a 3yo that to be honest has shown nothing of merit and I think it will be a big outsider in this race.

DIVINE QUEEN another 3yo who has run just about ok recently but I think this surface might not be ideal for it and one I would look to lay unless backed strongly.

HEARTSTAR the final 3yo who may be better over shorter as it has a speed rating over 5 furlongs and faded in 2 runs at this distance last year.

KIBAAR hasn't any form at this distance on the AW tracks but has won on good to firm ground on turf so could go ok here. 

SUMMARY: I would look to lay both (Carlovian + *Divine Queen) there is quite a few horses with bits of form that could see them make the frame and too many to tip a specific one as a danger or an each way bet, I will be backing STAR CRACKER 15/2 who won for me last time out and I am hoping it can lead all the way again here to follow up its win last time out.

6:45 Newcastle Racing Tips (28th September)

NEWCASTLE 6.45 

The tissue prices and my speed figures centre around 3 horses, 3rd top on my figures is Arnold 2/1 who’s best time was from 2019 but hasn't run over this c/d this year but has run twice here over 6 furlongs but the jockey, Arcavallo 7/2 is my 2nd top rated but only 2lbs off top spot, it could attempt to lead but the jockeys 1-19 record on this stables older runners is a little off-putting so I will give another chance to LORD OF THE GLEN 11/4 the other known front runner in the field and hopefully this time it can lead all the way.

This certainly isn't a great looking race even for class 6 standards, I can only find 5 runners in the field of 14 that have recorded a speed figure, on my own unique ratings, in 2019 or 2020, Guardia Svizzera who is joint 3rd top overall recorded its best time at Chelmsford so it would need to improve for the switch to this surface, Shortbackansides did its best figure this year at Wolverhampton but is only 5th top rated, Fard is the other joint 3rd top rated on a c/d time from 2019 so could make the frame and will be trying to stay on at the finish as will my 2nd top rated which is Zebulon who won last time out and I expect it will be the favourite in this race, that win came in a slow run affair and may get caught out here with the tactics of STAR CRACKER 18/1 who is the only known front running type in the race, this one is the only one in the field with a rating for 2020 which is admittedly 6lbs below the top weighted Zebulon’s best from 2019 but has an even better time from that year which would see it winning this race comfortably from the front and unless the bookies know something I don't (like being a non-trier) then the price is way way too big in comparison to its chance of winning this race.

12:50 Newcastle Racing Tips & Lay Bets (3rd September)

To be honest there's quite a lot of horses that could go really well in this race and it wont take much winning but first a couple of lays (Lincoln Red + Arnold) I wouldn't persuade anyone who decided to leave this race alone to take the gamble but I will be betting in the race, to small stakes, on 3 horses for various reasons, STAR CRACKER 8/1 in stall 5 is one of 4 known front runners in the race its not been in good form lately but its best time from 2019 would be enough to win this race, another that could go well from the front and drawn in stall 13 is ROCKLEY POINT 8/1 then I've got to add GUNMAKER 7/1 into the mix, this one likes to track the leaders and then stay on strongly so from stall 7 it should get a good tow into the race.

Six of the 14 runners have been known to lead before and this race might well be won from the front, I would look to lay (Not On Your Nellie) who is a 3yo so i might have got this one wrong but I will stick with my analysis and think this surface might not suit it and on the early tissue prices its forecast to be one of the favourites, Be Proud and Royal Brave could run well in this race and both will be trying to stay on at the finish my money will be riding on BOUDICA BAY 6/1 who is known as a front running type and the trainer has a 21% win rate at this course with their older horses.

There's 4 known front runners in this race and will hopefully set it up for a horse coming from off the pace, I cannot find anything of value to lay here, Never Dark, Summit Fever and Global Prospector could battle for the lead and possibly manage enough to make the frame but I will be backing COWBOY SOLDIER 7/1 who is a hold up type and is dropped in class to run in this race.

12:40 Ayr Racing Tips & Lay Bets (13th July)

AYR 12.40 

Only 9 runners but at least Dodgy Bob should ensure there's a decent early pace and it could do enough to hold on for a place being my 3rd top-rated, I could lay 6 of the runners (Red Bravo + *Amelia R + Northern Queen + De Latour + Talk Now + Laoise) who will either not like the going, if its good to firm, or the distance, Burmeses Blazer is my 2nd top-rated but the trainer is 0-9 at this course and the jockey is 0-3 for this stable which put me off a fair amount, that leaves STAR CRACKER 11/1 who has a time from 2018 that would see it winning cosily but it's not a race where my stakes will be at full strength but it looks value to have a punt at the price.

WINDSOR 1.35 

A competitive class 3 race with 3 known frontrunners among the 12 entrants, I will look to lay (The Cruising Lord 3 points lay who looks better over a shorter distance + Dirty Rascal 1 point lay who is the opposite and may need a longer trip) all 3 of the frontrunners could go well here especially Aljady and A SURE WELCOME 9/1 the latter could hold on against ARCANADA 7/1 this time reverse the form but it's very hard to split them as they were very close last time out and there's only an extra pound between them today, the topweight LOUIE DE PALMA 4/1 who is dropped in class to run here must have a decent chance and this one has a very good trainer/jockey stats which makes me thing connections are expecting it to go well here, I cannot split them and will be backing all 3 of them in this race.

7:15 Newcastle Racing Tips (31st January)

NEWCASTLE 7.15 

A class 7 race and as to be expected it isnt a great race and I have marked 10 of them as possible lays so thats not the way to go to make a profit so I will be backing in this race but only to small stakes, theres 3 known frontrunners in the race but one of them might not like this surface so the pace may be set by Poppy May in stall 13 but this ones trainers record of 1-53 at this course puts me off although it is 3rd top rated so could feasibly do enough to make the frame, Dodgy Bob who is in stall 8 but I have had to go back to 2018 to find its best time and need to improve on recent runs but again it could be another to do enough from the front to make the frame the topweight Sharrabang is my 4th top rated but the trainers record is 0-46 at this course and the jockey is 0-17 for this stable which is enough for me to be put off its chances of winning, it leaves me with just STAR CRACKER 9/1 as a selection who won for me last time out at 22/1 and has been found a good chance to follow up and I am surprised at how big the price is (I said that last time at 20/1 but it wasnt backed and still won).

5:30 Newcastle - Free Horse Racing Tips (16th January)

Not a race to be betting too heavily in and the best way to make money from this race would be to lay Gamesome and Jonboy, I'm not sure what to expect from Buniann but it could be a danger Canford Bay looks the likely pacesetter and with an easy lead could go well, I will be having a small bet on COMMANDER HAN 3/1 who is my top rated but its losing run of 19 doesn't fill me with confidence nor the jockeys 1-16 strike rate for this stable and to be honest I expected it be a bigger price but I have to stick with my speed figures.

A full house of 14 runners, there's 6 horses that I will willingly lay in this race, Puchita, Lord Of The Glen, Someone Exciting, De Bruyne Horse, Darwina and Mitchum. Meshardal is my 4th top-rated and likes to track the leaders as does Avenue Of Stars my 3rd top-rated, my 2nd top-rated Gunmetal will be trying to stay on resolutely nearing the finish and should make the frame if reproducing its best, my money will be entrusted to STAR CRACKER 18/1 who is one of only two in the race that has been known to lead successfully before and I'm hoping a repeat here and it leads all the way from stall 13, luckily the draw isn't vital at this course and at the price I will be having an each-way wager.

In this 9 runner race the most likely pacesetter will be HELLO GIRL 10/1 its been off the course for a while now and may need this run for race fitness but is one of three horses in this race I will be dutching, JEFFREY HARRIS 5/1 is top-rated on just 2019 c/d times so has to be the 2nd one to be backed in this race, my third horse I will be backing is TABAAHY 12/1 and the jockey booking on this horse I am hoping is significant as he has a 24% win rate on this stables older horses, as I said I will be dutching all 3 but my stakes won't be at full strength, I will look to lay, Klopp 2/1 favourite, Fair Alibi 9/1, Piazon 10/1 and Swinging Eddie 10/1 to cover my betting stake.

6:00 Newcastle Racing Tips (27th September)

NEWCASTLE 6.00 

This is a nice looking and very competitive apprentice jockeys class 6 handicap and there are some unexposed horses in the race so my stakes will be kept in check, ive marked 4 down as lays and 2 of them are forecast to be single figure prices and if short enough would look value to lay plus another single priced horse that I dont think will like this surface, there looks to be a few that could try to set the pace, Packington Lane is a 3 year old that can lead but it would need to improve timewise to win and the same applies to Raypetafterme, Gorgeous General is my 3rd top rated and ikes to track the leaders, Encoded runs on well at the finish and comes out 2nd best on my speed figures, my money will be riding on STAR CACKER 11/1 if its each way price, its recent form has been quite poor but that has all been on grass but going back to its last run on the Aw which was over this c/d when it won and a repeat of that would see it back in the winners enclosure and im hoping the switch back to a favoured surface will rejuvinate its old form.

This looks poor even for a class 5 affair of the 11 runners I've only got 4 with times fast enough to register on my graphs and 2 of those horses, Buccaneers Vault and Oriental Lilly, did their best times last but they was a few spots behind EPEIUS 7/2 who has a good figure from 2019 which is 4lbs below its best in 2018 but either of those times would see it winning quite nicely unless any of the others improve dramatically but will be the one carrying my dosh, the other one with a speed figure is Stewardess who seemed to get towed along in a fast run race at Wolverhampton last year but hasn't been near that level since.
